Unreal Fur Wanderlust Coat + Tamaris Footwear!

It's finally cold enough for faux fur which means my Unreal Fur collection is back on rotation! Huzzah! If you haven't heard of this cool Aussie brand, you need to get up to speed, stat. 'Noir' is a hot trend for this Autumn/Winter and I've started to wear black to work almost everyday. I definitely need to play with textures a bit more, next on my shopping list? Some black sequins and feathers. GET IN MY 'DROBE.

My new pointy shoes are by German brand, Tamaris. I only discovered this brand quite recently, but they are great quality and pretty darn affordable - these slip-on brogues are only £25 at Zalando and fit true to size.

Bristol Fashion Week AW15 : Accessorize Preview

Tuesday 29 September 2015

Last week after work I headed to The Mall at Cribbs Causeway for a Bristol Fashion Week AW15 preview at Accessorize! It's always nice to see my favourite Bristol bloggers and I couldn't wait to hear more about this season's fashion show.

I try to head to BFW every season and this year the beautiful Denise Van Outen will be joining Mark Heyes to present the show. There will be 17 catwalk shows which will be full of this season's hottest trends featuring carefully selected pieces from The Mall's high street stores. If you haven't been before, make the effort. It's way better than London Fashion Week (LFW guys - make note) & the tickets are a lot more affordable too!

I couldn't resist pairing up two of our fave new additions to the house for this post because I love any excuse to get my nerd on. I have finally got my Ewok paws on a piece from the much coveted Eleven Paris x Star Wars collection, and Timmy nabbed himself one of THE must have pieces from the Star Wars The Force Awakens merch drop - the Sphero BB-8 droid!

Hugo Boss Menswear at Tessuti

Tim is a Hugo Boss addict. This love is serious, and it's not entirely uncommon to find him literally head to toe (or beanie hat to socks/shoes!) in his fave designer brand. He likes how classically styled and discreet it is, and you can't fault the quality. In fact, he loves it so much that we have been looking specifically at Boss suits for our wedding!

With this in mind, he was thrilled when designer store Tessuti sent him a beaut grey Boss Orange Pioli Polo Shirt to start his new AW15 wardrobe off, along with a care package of manly things to make him feel spesh. I'm sure Tara's Sam will agree that it's always fun for the boys when one of our faves think of them, and just one of the many perks of being a Rawrboy eh? ;)

Living With Achica

Monday 21 September 2015

One of the best things about being a full grown adult is having your own home to decorate and frost to your own taste. When Tim and I did our master bedroom I chose a monochrome stripe feature wall with plain gold to the rest, complimented with dark furniture and luxe accents like an ornate mirror and velvet swag curtains. It looks the business, but I was missing that special something for the last wall, and I found the perfect piece on Achica, the members only online lifestyle store that I'm pretty much addicted to!

This shelf was £59, but it should be around £90, and to be honest with you if I would've found it at that price in any high street homeware store then I would've snapped it up in a jiffy because it was exactly what I had in mind to complete the look. Doesn't it look amaze? I love the quirky, monochrome shape and it looks fab against the matte gold paper behind it. I apologise for the lighting issues, it's difficult to photograph with the window throwing so many light effects at the wall but it can't be helped because walls are pretty static and all that ;)

Dorothy Perkins: AW15 Style Heroes + Trollbeads Copper Collection

Thursday 17 September 2015

Both Jade & I were both asked to take part in Dorothy Perkin's latest Style Heroes campaign and as the 70s trend is continuing this autumn (huzzah), I was asked to style a 70s blouse and wrap. I'm a massive fan of seventies chic but tend to go more for the casual, boho style so it was nice to try something a bit different and style a smart blouse.

I paired it with my new wool blend skirt from M&S, some classic leather brogues from J. Coles and a classic burgundy fedora! In an ideal world this hat would be chocolate, but this deep berry version is a pretty good substitute.

Autumn/Winter Denim at Fat Face + Jeans Guide!

Tuesday 15 September 2015

I'm a recovering denimaholic and at one point I had between 50-60 pairs of jeans in my wardrobe. This weekend I had a really big clear out, I think September is a great month for refreshing your wardrobe and my denim collection was due a big overhaul.

I remember taking part in a Twitter chat with a top denim designer a few years ago and they recommended having about 10 - 12 pairs of jeans. Granted, I still have more than that, but it's important to have certain denim staples in your wardrobe - suitable for every occasion. Fat Face have recently launched their new Autumn collection and because of my preference for skinny jeans, I was drawn to their latest range of jeggings

Stylish Luggage With Eastpak! Tranverz S Curls Review

Monday 14 September 2015

I love to travel but as we've been saving for our wedding for the past year, we haven't been able to justify many trips away. That being said, we are planning 2 honeymoons (1 small trip after the wedding and a proper trip later in the year) but unlike my holiday wardrobe, my luggage is always pretty basic. Every time we're in the airport and I promise myself I'll buy a cool statement case because I always struggle to spot my boring black case on the conveyor belt, but it never happens.

WELL, I can finally wave goodbye to my boring case and say a big HELLO to this beautiful Tranverz S Curls travel bag by Eastpak! Both Jade and I love Eastpak. My cheetah backpack is my blogging backpack of choice and it always comes with me on overnight trips away, but it's nice to welcome a bigger piece of Eastpak luggage into my life.

It's been a long time since I showed up at the University of Liverpool for my first day as a student, fluffy pen in hand thinking I was the Elle Woods of the English degree world, but I still miss that place and there will always be a special place in my heart for my uni days.

Liverpool is definitely one of the best student cities in the UK, and in true Scouse form, on 30th September Liverpool ONE are welcoming the country's bright future with open arms in the form of an amazing shopping event! JEALZ.

AW15 Hair Trend - Get Undone Volume With John Frieda Luxurious Volume!

Wednesday 9 September 2015

So as you may have noticed, I am currently rocking A LOT of hair. For the majority of the time it's all my own, as I'm in the process of growing it out to an unlayered waist length so that there will be plenty of it to do something fabulous with when I get my bridal glam on next September.

One of my fave AW15 hair trends is the undone voluminous look, as seen in the Matthew Williamson, Peter Costelloe, Burberry and Topshop Unique shows, so I'm taking full advantage of my Rapunzel locks while I have them. Basically, you want a gorgeous Gigi Hadid root boost, but with a Kate Moss kick at the ends. At MW, the models had a 60's inspired parted bouffant look (a style I'm toying with for my bridal hair actually!), Peter Costelloe took on an edgy vibe, Burberry kept it very touchable and glossy whilst Topshop Unique worked a totally do-able scrunched side part. There are so many ways to wear the look but with all this weight I'm finding it difficult to keep it bouncy up there without backcombing and freezing it to death with hairspray, and that's not undone at all. The answer? The new John Frieda Luxurious Volume range . . .

Flamingo Candles Review - The Melt Crowd September!

Tuesday 8 September 2015

We're back with another The Melt Crowd review from Flamingo Candles! September's box is possibly my favourite so far. In case you've been on holiday for the entire summer, this new candle subscription service costs just £10 a month and can be cancelled at anytime. Each box contains 8 highly scented melts worth £18.95 and the first month you sign up, you'll be sent a free burner with your melts.

The boxes get sent out on the 1st of each month and take just a few days to arrive. These scentsational melts cost about £2 when bought separately and burn for almost 30 hours. Bargain. I'm not signed up to any beauty box subscriptions (sorry, they just don't excite me) but I LOVE The Melt Crowd. Best. Idea. Ever.

Vintage Laura Ashley Dress

Monday 7 September 2015

Typically, I'm not one of those girls who wears vintage clothing. This is for a few reasons but mostly because I'm rubbish at thrift shopping (I never find anything) and secondly because I can't find pieces which suit me.

A few months ago, I headed to a Fashion Salvage event held at the Bristol Textile Recyclers' warehouse in Bristol. We were given a clear sack which we were allowed to fill with pieces we'd like to give a new lease of life. There were some incredible pieces floating around (generally at the bottom of huge sacks) but I was being cautious as I already have a massive wardrobe and I didn't want to add to it, just because.

During the rummage (I was dreaming of finding a vintage leather jacket) I came across this awesome Laura Ashley dress! After a bit of a Google, I'm almost sure it's from the 1980s. It's actually a size 6 but the sizing was completely different back then so it's more like a loose size 8.

Style Heroes With Dorothy Perkins!

Thursday 3 September 2015

Last week Dorothy Perkins got in touch to see if we wanted to take part in the latest edition of Style Heroes, challenging bloggers to style up a selection of this season's must have trends. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! I was tasked with 'Skinny Pants and a Tote Bag', so I set to choosing two pieces that bounced off each other nicely. I chose the Black PU Skinny Trousers (£26) and the Black Croc Zip Front Tote (£30) because they are both an understated matte black faux leather, and when combined they edge up pretty much any transitional SS-AW look until you can fully lean into the plethora of fur, leather, black and burgundy joy that the cooler months bring!

As we're only just easing into AW from SS, I decided to pair these black staples with some baby pink faux fur and leopard flats. It's rained all week so please excuse the light on these pics, I'll be the first to admit that it's not doing these pieces justice but when you're on a deadline you just can't argue with mother nature and have to get on with it!

All About The Anatomicals!

Wednesday 2 September 2015

My bathroom is always bursting with new products that I'm giving a whirl, and recently it's been taken over by my last Anatomicals haul so I thought I'd do a little review for you guys who might be thinking of trying something from this fun, tongue in cheek brand that you keep spotting on ASOS as you browse!

The first thing you should know is that despite looking like a cool, probably expensive cult brand (after all they are stocked in Selfridges!), Anatomicals is actually one of the most reasonable body and facial care brands out there right now starting at around £3 and barely reaching a tenner!

My last haul included Smoother Butts Love Coconuts Body Lotion (£3.99), Be Good With Your Hands In Bed Night Time Hand Cream (£3.99), Never Lose Your Cherry Lip Balm (£2.45) and From Worrying Complex To Wonderful Complexion, a set of 3 facial care sachets (£3.49).

La Redoute Capsule Wardrobe: Little Black Dress

Tuesday 1 September 2015

When I think about a capsule wardrobe, the first piece that springs to mind is a Little Black Dress. I own several different styles because they're so versatile and timeless. I was recently set the challenge of styling an LBD 5 different ways, for 5 different occasions by La Redoute. I would say I found it quite easy to wear the same dress in multiple ways because an LBD is essentially just a blank canvas.

The first look I created was the most obvious but the most classic. When you wear a beautiful dress like this, it does all the talking. I simply added some coral court shoes for a colour pop and a statement floral box clutch. I do love all black outfits but as it's summer, I opted to brighten my look up with these bright accessories.
