My Jade Bridal Jewellery

Choosing your bridal jewellery can be a real thinker. Do you go for something sparkly and obvious, or do you have something sentimental you want to include, or do you think completely outside the box and wear something uber trendsome like pompoms?

It was a bit of a no brainer for me though. My beautiful jade stone and leopard print 18ct yellow gold engagement ring, designed and made especially for me by the amazing Wongs in Liverpool, has basically been the inspiration for our whole wedding since Tim popped it on my finger 2 years ago, so I decided to extend the look to the rest of my bridal jewelz. Isn't it just amazing? We went through the entire design process with Wongs and as I've never had bespoke jewellery made just for me before, I couldn't believe it turned out so perfectly! It's literally everything I love in one piece of jewellery and has totally turned my head to the joys of one off designs.

My Summer Make-Up Must Haves

Monday 20 June 2016

I've recently revamped my makeup collection to create a sunnier look for summer. I'm all about a fresh faced inner glow lately, I think it's youthful and easy to maintain in the heat, but sometimes a girl needs a little help getting there! I constantly reach for these five items, my hero products if you will, so I thought I'd share their brilliance with you guys.

  • Vita Liberata Body Blur (about £30) is an instant HD makeup/tan that masks blemishes and reflects light. You can literally put it anywhere (it looks amazing on shoulders and shins) which makes it great value for money, and a little goes a very long way. I mix it into my staple Garnier BB cream for a colour adjustment and some extra pow. The colour lasts all day (it actually states 24 hours and I do believe it but have yet to test it!) and everyone comments on how good my skin looks, which is always nice to hear because I'm not massively confident about it, so yey!
  • Illamasqua Beyond Powder in Epic (£32) is a baked highlighter. I honestly don't know how I lived without this in my kit, it is quite simply the best highlighter/bronzer I have ever used. Just a touch on my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose completely ups my game and I wouldn't be without it!
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Fireball (£14) is my new signature shade. I stumbled across it whilst searching for a new rose gold shadow. Fireball is a luminous shimmer shadow but without glitter (important!), in the most beautiful orange/pink/gold flip colour on the lids. It's SO difficult to catch on camera so I do urge you to go try it at a counter or seek out some good swatches online, but I don't think I want to wear another eyeshadow ever again!
  • Illamasqua Sculpting Palette (£44) has everything you need to contour your mush. I was lucky and nabbed it for £18 in the Beauty Bay sale (now out of stock I'm afraid), and I'm so glad I did! Not gonna lie, the grey shade did have me a bit, whaaaaaat?! at first, but after a bit of research on how to use it, I totally get it now. 100% more effective and professional looking than the Maybelline product I was previously using. Fine holiday fun, two thumbs up.
  • Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass Lipstick in Alice (£16) is just beaaaaauuuuuuut! I indulged in the previous Alice x UD palette but couldn't justify it this time around but that was not going to stop me nabbing a piece from the range, so I chose a lippy. Alice is a sheer nude with a pink shift, and I wish I'd bought 2 or 3 of them because it's just the most gorgeous summer shade. Got me again UD, you bloody big heads.

Fraser Hart: Fashionable Father of the Bride Wedding Gifts

Tuesday 14 June 2016

We're still obsessed with weddings at Rawr Towers, Jade gets hitched in a couple of months and I'm still reminiscing about my magical day which was almost a month ago. Newly weds always tell you it's the best day of your life but you can never really grasp this until you experience it for yourself. Can we do it all again, please!?

I'm absolutely ready to plan another wedding so I'm hoping someone I know gets engaged soon! You can expect tons of wedding recap posts/tips over the next few months including gift guides. As mentioned previously, shopping for wedding gifts is tough. Especially if you have to buy gifts for 10 people, like I did. Seriously.

I love watches, I gave Sam a watch as his gift so it was a pretty easy decision to give my dad the same! Like most other wedding gifts, father-of-the-bride gifts can be pretty crummy. No my dad does not want an engraved silver hip flask or an embroidered handkerchief. Honestly.

MinkPink Street Riot Distressed Jeans

Casual wear is how I roll. Chilled weekends call for relaxed clothing, fun in the sun and lots of good food. As of late I've started to become a bit addicted to distressed boyfriend jeans. It turns out I now have 4 pairs, the newest being these rawrsome MinkPink Street Riot Distressed Jeans.

MinkPink is one of my top 5 brands - there's just something so appealing about Australian brands, their pieces are really well-designed and hella cool. I also love the relaxed fit of every piece. When I worked in Sydney for a little while, I couldn't help but SWOON over the average Aussie girl's style. She wore SO much MinkPink.

Stylish Wedding Gift Ideas: Mother-of-the-Bride

Choosing a gift for the Mother-of-the-Bride is such a difficult task! If you Google 'gift ideas for parents' you're bombarded with 1000's of *not so stylish* results. From photo frames to personalised glasses, there are so many cheesy suggestions.

I have a super stylish mum so I knew I had to find her something a little bit more special than an engraved wooden photo frame. *CRINGE*. Rawr girl faves, Fraser Hart, have an incredible selection of wedding gifts, suitable for parents who deserve a wonderful gift.

Who doesn't love a swanky free gift with purchase? I'd be lying if I said a little extra something something didn't sway me on a beauty shopping trip, so this treat from Lancôme at Harvey Nichols ticks all my boxes!

Awesome designer Roksanda has collaborated with Lancôme on a limited edition bag incorporating her signature bright colour blocking, containing four of their must have minis:
Hydarzen Cream SPF15, La Base Pro Porekiller, Hypnose Mascara and Absolu Rouge BX06. All this can be yours when you spend £29 at a Lancôme Harvey Nichols in store counter until 8th June. I can't wait to try the Porekiller, having heard fab things about it already, and the lippy is a perfect summer pink!

Sugarhill Hatty Wild Flower Dress + Olivia Burton

So it's officially summer and what does that mean? WEDDINGS. I've been married for more than a fortnight and now it's time to focus on all my friends' weddings! The next is in just over a week and I've been scouring the internet for the perfect wedding guest outfit.

Sugarhill Boutique is one of my favourite brands, I have a wardrobe full of their beautiful frocks so they were an obvious choice when it came to picking a wedding appropriate frock. Although there's nothing wrong with wearing an animal print dress to a wedding, I opted for one of their brand new summer styles - this gorgeous floral Hatty dress.
