New Look SS17: Formal Denim Challenge

A few weeks back, our friends at New Look challenged me to style denim in a formal way! I practically live and breathe denim, I wear it every day to work and even bought a separate wardrobe to house my jean collection. It's such a versatile wardrobe staple... if you buy the correct style. I believe in owning a suitable style and wash for every occasion, which is why I jumped at the chance to get my paws on a pair of these Super Skinny India Jeans.

A simple pair of black skinny jeans is like a LBD - timeless and a blank canvas! Although initially when I think of formal denim I imagine black jeans with a crisp white shirt and black stilettos, I wanted to think outside the box a little for this look and challenge my own perception of formal style.

Our Chester Zoo Wedding

It's almost been 6 months since Tim and I were married at Chester Zoo, and I've just realised that I haven't yet posted about it. Obviously you want to keep your wedding private to some extent, but it was such a fabulous day that I have to share a few pics and details with you guys, and anyone else who might be browsing the internet looking for a fun location wedding in the North West!

My day started at 5am (after just 3 hours sleep!), with the arrival of our amazing hair and makeup artist Nicola Joyce. I can't recommend Nicola enough, my bridal party looked gorgeous and we all agreed that she was an absolute genius.

You may have caught it on social media at the time, but if you didn't, I have to give a special mention to Steph of FAIIINT who designed and handmade my beautiful dress. It's made from an ivory leopard print silk with a faux fur hem and I just adored it. Both Steph and Tara travelled in to attend the wedding, which meant so much to both Tim and I :)
