Junk Jewels

I'm still a huge midi ring fan, and I don't see them going away any time soon so I will keep growing my collection!

Today's midi comes from Junk Jewels, the Fox Ring (£6) comes in gold or silver and is adjustable so you can wear it anywhere on your finger :)

Ring c/o Junk Jewels

How cute?! I like wearing a themed midi ring like this with a handful of plain bands so it can take centre stage, and foxes are a long term fashion favourite so this one will get plenty of wear!

Sound The New Watch Klaxon - It's SHORE PROJECTS!

Wednesday 27 August 2014

Oh we do love a bit of yummy arm candy here in Rawr Towers, so you can imagine the smiles when the butler brought two lovely Shore Projects packages to the Wardrobe West Wing . . .

If you're a regular reader you've probably already seen Tara's silver and mint Poole style in her post last week, and now it's time for a close up show and tell from me and my new Portland! Shore Projects is inspired by the beauty and fun of the British seaside and these watches are also waterproofed to 100m so they can be worn when swimming in the sea on the aforementioned seaside hollibobs - cute!

Anyhoo, the Portland is a gold/silver plated casing with white face, retailing at £115. Without wishing to sound like I fancy a schmoke and a pancake, I LOVE gold. It went out of fashion favour for years but it's now definitely my metal of choice when it comes to jewellery, and this is actually my first gold watch, and what a beauty!

Watch - c/o Shore Projects, Bracelets - Karma Feeling, ChloBo, Monica Vinader.

Shore Projects watch review

The Portland comes complete with a mint green strap, which is lovely for summer but my heart lies with a darker palette really, so I chose the Classic Green with Gold Clasp strap (£20) for a change. The straps are beautiful and actually made from leather and covered in the coloured nylon so they feel really sturdy, and they're super easy to change with the simple little slide and click mechanism. Ta daaa!

Shore Projects watch review

Isn't it purty? Here's a little factoid for you to finish with. The brand was actually started by a group of friends who noticed one day that none of them wore a watch! I love brands with back stories like that, it's the type of thing Tara and I dream of doing one day (T, I know you'll be thinking of our sealife tails and fins swimwear line when you read this, it could still work bub). Good stuff.

Overall, fine seaside holiday fun, consider us fans for Shore! ;)

J - Shore thing.

The #VeryBeautyTour comes to Liverpool, and I gotz mah hurr did . . .

We love a good beauty treatment in Liverpool, so it was no surprise to find a huge queue at the #VeryBeautyTour this weekend when I popped into my fave city!

The pink Very van was home to professionals from Percy & Reed, Murad, Nails Inc and Illamasqua, and beauty brands Bourjois and Babyliss, all packed into one spot with one goal, to make us all look hot - hurrah!

very.co.uk #verybeautytour Liverpool blogger

I nabbed myself a spot at the Percy & Reed/Babyliss station for a mini hair adventure. I asked the lovely stylist for a loose Heidi braid and within 15 mins I was walking away with a gorgeous new do, including tousled waves to finish the look! I love it to bits, now I need to sit in front of my mirror for 9200 hours to practice doing it on myself, gahhhh! ;)

The #VeryBeautyTour has come to an end in Liverpool, but the next stop is Leeds on 30th August, and finally Birmingham on 6th September, so plenty of time to get your glam on if you live near those places. There's even a chance to win a £1000 beauty haul after your treatment by snapping a selfie and hashtagging it with #verybeautytour, I know I've done mine - fingers crossed!

J - Very lucky.

MADE.com Review!

Sunday 24 August 2014

As bloggers we get some great opportunities to experience new things and try new products, and let's be honest, it's awesome. We may be fashion bloggers but style doesn't end with your clothes, and I don't know about you, but I love a good 'Who lives in a house like this?' nose around my fave blogger's personal spaces! So when MADE.com asked us if we wanted to review a piece of their furniture, I was like, yes please - why the hellz not?! My home is an extension of my personal style and everything I choose to put in it is just as much a part of my fashion life as the shoes I put on my feet, so why not enjoy this little perk of blogging?

MADE.com cuts out the middle man, effectively connecting us as consumers with manufacturers, and cutting out all the overheads which bumps up the final RRP of our bespoke designer homeware. The furniture is made to order, which means that delivery can take longer than a trip to your local friendly Scandinavian cattle market, but it's a small price to pay for the quality you get.

I chose the Axis Shelving Unit in Oak, which would usually be £149. It caught my eye because my current living room furniture and fireplace is oak finish except for one big black hulking bookcase which is used as a room divider of sorts by the front door because we have no hallway, so I knew exactly where this bad boy could go! Delivery was fast (this piece is on a 2 day express delivery) and although it comes in pieces, we had it up and running in under an hour. Take a look at the finished result!

As a couple we have a slightly quirky sense of style. A walk around our home is like popping into Forbidden Planet via Toys R Us. We own a lot of collectibles that we both enjoy displaying all over the house, so a good shelving unit is essential. The Axis unit is heavy and stands firm, so despite being precariously angular, we feel like we can 100% trust it to stay upright. As I said, previously there was a dense black bookcase in this position, so you can imagine how it blocked out the light from the front door. We love how the Axis now lets the light stream through it, making the small room seem much bigger whilst still providing that much needed bit of privacy from the front door, hurrah!

The semi open sides (like cut out boots!) make it really easy to display our fun little items, but also mean you can stand things like books or vinyl up without needing bookends or worrying about them falling over. I just love the look of this piece, it's not your average room divider shape and has a design element that gives it a more stylish look. Until you put Star Wars toys on it obvs ;)

I would definitely recommend MADE.com to anyone. In fact, I already have recommended them to a friend who has just moved into her beaut new home and is looking to kit it out with unusual pieces. I know I'll be going back as I have my eye on a lamp or two that I know I have seen in certain Liverpool furniture boutiques at double the price they are here - craziness!

MADE.com is currently offering free delivery until 1st September, so have a nose and treat your home to something fancy!

J - MADE.com up.

The Somerset Toiletry Co.

Friday 22 August 2014

A little while back I was sent a bundle of products to review from The Somerset Toiletry Co. The team behind the brand have a range of expertise in the beauty field, and have spent time producing products for massive brands such as Anthropologie, Laura Ashley, Oliver Bonas and many more! The Somerset Toiletry Company was set up four years ago with the aim to produce beautifully designed products, made from the finest ingredients, at reasonable prices.

The brand is based around the corner from me, they have an outlet store in Clutton (between Bristol and Bath) where they sell a variety of beauty products including some private label brands - all at huge discounts. If you aren't local, their online store is set to go live on the 1st September!

Ministry of Sound Nightlife Perfume
Ministry of Sound - Nightlife perfume for her (c/o). Retail price: £20

My mum practically tore this perfume from my hands after it arrived - she absolutely loves it! It's a lovely floral scent (with a hint of musk) which I'd definitely say is more of an evening scent than an everyday one. I really love the fun, plastic packaging... It's simple but stylish. Although I can understand why my mum is impressed, I don't think it's a very *me* scent. I'd say it's slightly mature and I personally prefer fruity, sweet smells. That being said, it would make a great gift - especially if you manage to snag one from the Clutton outlet store *cough* it's only £1.50 there *cough*.

Laura Ashley Peppermint Lip Balm
Laura Ashley - Peppermint Oil Replenishing Lip Balm (c/o)Retail price: £7

Oooh yes, this lip balm is a winner in my eyes. It smells so good I want to gobble it all up like it's a box of After Eights. A little goes a long way with this oil, it leaves my dry lips feeling nourished and rather kissable (even if I do say so myself). I'll definitely buy another once this runs out!

Naturally European Ginger Lime Hand Cream

Naturally European - Ginger & Lime Luxury Hand Cream (c/o)Retail price: £7.

Free from SLS and parabens, this luxury hand cream smells incredible and is a fantastic, thick consistency. It contains 20% shea butter which provides healing and protection to hands. I have very sensitive skin on my fingers and my hands are constantly taking a beating due to the nature of my job, but this hand cream is a lifesaver. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who suffers from dry hands. It would also make a really nice gift - I never think much of hand creams but this is my new fave!

Asquith and Somerset English Rose Soap
Asquith & Somerset - English Rose Fine Fragranced Soap (c/o)Retail price: £4.50

I know us soap users are a dying breed, but I love a good bar of the good stuff. Sometimes using shower gel can be so wasteful as I end up using half a bottle in one go. The packaging of this product does seem a little dated (I can imagine my 70 year old neighbour loving it) but it has a relatively subtle floral scent and is a great size. As my skin is so sensitive, I tend to shy away from fragranced soaps therefore I passed this one across to my mum to try. It lathers well and because it's so big, lasts a long time. Again, it's the type of product which you could bundle with a few other items to make a nice gift for someone.

To celebrate their new store launch, The Somerset Toiletry company will also be running some exciting promotions and a competition. You'll be able to win a luxury hamper worth over £100, the first five orders (over £30) placed on the site will get a special gift, there will be free P&P for the first week + more! For more info, follow them via Twitter and Facebook.

What do you think of TSTC? Would you use any of these products?

T - West country and proud!

Cute Little Cath Kidston Wishlist!

Thursday 21 August 2014

Okay, so I have my bestie's mom's birthday coming up, which gives me an excuse to have a nosey around Cath Kidston next time I'm in Liverpool (a treat that shopping with my man doesn't usually afford without a good reason) so I thought I'd have a look online to see what's new, and OH. MY. GAWD . . .

Cath Kidston Elgin Ditsy Luggage Strap and Tag Set - £12. This has me thinking about christmas gifts - squeeee! Soz aba me.

Cath Kidston Clocks Tea Cosy - £22. Okay, so I don't have a teapot, but I think I'm going to have to get one just so it can wear this!

Cath Kidston Alarm Radio Sewing Basket - £58. I'm always losing my various ragged bits of cotton and needles, so I need a good £58 home for them right? Right.

Cath Kidston Giraffe & Cheapstow Rose Socks - £12. I'm a huge Safari print fan, so I adore the little giraffes on these - cute!

So thank you Norma because I'll be all up in Cath's face this weekend getting all girly in the name of gifting - hurrah! Do we have any Cath fans here?

J - Not kidding.

Shore Projects British Watch Review!

I'm pretty sure this French Connection Hummingbird Dress has been hanging out in my wardrobe since last year. I managed to nab it in the sale for only £49 (originally £120) but never got round to wearing it...Until last weekend! I hope you'll agree it's absolutely beautiful, I love the print and even spotted it on Cami from The Originals. Mmm hm. ;)

I paired it with another sale bargain (say hello to a different, slightly larger Mi Moneda necklace) and my adorable new watch from Shore Projects.

Shore Projects Poole Watch Review
French Connection Dress - New Look Sandals - Mi Moneda Necklace - Shore Projects Watch (c/o)

I tend to wear more silver than gold, so opted for the Poole watch in brushed silver/white. The straps can we changed to create a different look, so I picked this hella cute mint polka dot which I think is ultra girly and sweet! It's worth noting the straps are really easy to change, it took me less than 5 seconds to put this one on.

I think I'm becoming a bit of a timepiece addict - my boyfriend's crazy watch obsession is finally rubbing off on me. I now want the Portland version of this one and a few different straps! I better pop them on my Christmas list. ;)

Do you like polka dots? Do you have any unworn gems in your wardrobe?

T - Feeling *mint*.

Like Pharrell and Kanye, I love a good backpack. My latest one is this epic galaxy print backpack from Spiral. If you read J's post last week, you'll already know all about this hot new UK brand!

I was lucky enough to be sent this beaut for styling in an outfit post and I couldn't believe the quality when it arrived... It's incredible for the small price tag! The Galaxy Neptune OG backpack is only £24.99 and I feel too cool for school rockin' it with my favourite Wildfox gear. I actually use backpacks all the time, they're great for carrying my camera/blogging kit and for general work stuff, so I'm going to get a lot of use out of this one.

Spiral have tons of other awesome prints and styles, so be sure to check them out via their website or at one of their other stockists such Next and Selfridges!

Are you a fan of galaxy print? Would you wear this?

Leopard, Leather and Daniel Footwear Plunge Heels!

Monday 18 August 2014

Thanks to Daniel Footwear I am the proud owner of a pair of their hot new Daniel White Plunge Cut Out Sandals (£129), and they are absolutely beautiful!

I'd been dying to take them out all week and a lunch date on sunny Saturday was the perfect time to show them off. I put them into a simple jeans, shirt and leather look for a bit of daytime glam. To the outfit! . . .

Outfit: Shirt - Episode c/o House Of Fraser, Jacket - Pull & Bear, Jeans - Wildfox, Shoes - c/o Daniel Footwear, Bag - Disaster Designs c/o Lisa Angel.

They are so fabulous, I can't even deal. The black suede sharp lines against the white leather geometric panels are reminiscent of something a kick ass female superhero would rock, and I was definitely strutting about like I had a secret hidden in my cape ;)

Daniel Footwear Plunge sandals blog review outfit post

I can walk in pretty much anything so the 4.5 inch heel isn't a problem for me, but these heels are so delicate and lightweight that you don't even feel the height anyway! The sole is flexible and the leather upper hugs your foot so they're really easy to walk in. You can actually forget they're even on. I've never done ballroom dancing of any sort, but they totally remind me of the little sandals the Strictly girls wear, so feminine on the foot. I could easily wear these shoes all day just for the shimmy in my step!

Daniel Footwear Plunge sandals blog review outfit post

I am a huge fan of monochrome with leopard print, it sounds a bit off the wall if you haven't seen it together before but I think it totally works. I love this shirt from Episode at House Of Fraser, it's always crisp and fresh and the leopard trim and gold buttons are the perfect accents. I might wear this shirt again with these shoes, but tucked into a black leather knee skirt, yum :)

Daniel have really killed it with the Plunge, which also comes in a gorgeous cobalt blue (even more superhero-like!) - POW! These ones would look awesome with some luxe smart joggers and a satin cami.

Beauts right?! How would you style them?

If you entered our competition to win £50 to spend at Daniel Footwear then keep your eyes peeled on their Twitter, Facebook and Competitions pages for the winner's name! It could be you!

J - Take the Plunge.

It's that time again, get yourself off to WH Smith (what is this J, 1988?!) or Paperchase for a new pencil case because it's back to school with you lot! *shakes old person fist*

Introducing Spiral, the hottest new bag brand hitting stores such as Next, USC, John Lewis, the very awesome could spend a fortune on there Firebox and the Rawrgirl mothership, Selfridges! Founded only in late 2013, it must've been a crazy exciting year for the brand creators who had previously only dreamed of pushing the boundaries of contemporary street fashion whilst providing an alternative cool that was still an affordable cool. Spiral, we salute you.

Our Spiral faves have to be the galaxy prints, with Galaxy Neptune being the standout, but they're all so amazing to look at, like wearing Black Milk on your back. And that can't ever be a bad thing.

Women's J Shoes Brogues at Cloggs.co.uk!

Thursday 14 August 2014

Sooo, I have a brogues obsession. It started a few months back when I bought my first pair from ASOS and it's slowly picking up pace. Whenever I look at any website I check out their leather jackets, hats, if they sell Dr. Martens/Wildfox/SpiritHoods, and then I browse for brogues.

My latest pair are the Womens J Shoes Charlie brogues from Cloggs.co.uk, which are currently on sale. Huzzah!

They're extremely well made and certainly worth full price. I expect these beauts to last me years. I couldn't help but browse Cloggs entire womens brogues range while writing this post...How cute are the Clarks ones!? Swoooon. I opted for a size 6 in this J Shoes pair, I can be annoying half size but as of late, 6's have been fitting me perfectly.

I wanted to keep today's outfit really simple so *threw on some khakis* and this classic black tee. I'm definitely a khakis convert, I went from having zero to three pairs in just one shopping trip. Oh how I love the Gap. My sparkly jewelz are from Swarovski, I wear this Slate bracelet all the time and I love my ice blue Nirvana ring.

Finally a quick mention about my Fiorelli Perry Bag, it's now sold out on the Fiorelli website but I've found it (in sale) on the House of Fraser site. It's such a cute size making it perfect for festivals, I wore it to Glastonbury a few months back!

Do you like today's look? Do you own any brogues?

T - Bonkers for brogues.

I'm sure many of you will be happy to know my maxi obsession is still going strong. My latest addition is this beautiful Reverse peony maxi dress from the awesome, Spoiled Brat! This is my second dress from Australian label Reverse and I've finally nailed the sizing... I'm wearing the XS which is a UK 8 and it fits me purrfectly.

Reverse Maxi @ Spoiled Brat (c/o) - Hat: Primark - Sandals: New Look - Bangles: Tokyo Jane

Their SS14 styles are ultra floaty and feminine, the print on this one is just lovely. It is quite sheer so I initially thought I'd need a slip, however, the built in underskirt works a charm. It retails for £55 but it's now less than half price in the Spoiled Brat sale. BARGAIN. I honestly can't wait for their AW14 collection. I recently spotted one of their new dresses instore and nearly fainted due to the pure gothic awesomeness on display.

I paired it with some comfortable New Look sandals, a fedora, a couple of Tokyo Jane bangles and this epic quartz necklace I received earlier this year from Eclectic Eccentricity. I do love my pretty jewelz.

Have you heard of Reverse? Have you nabbed any sale bargains recently?

T - Peony lovin'.

Rawrgirls Review: OTTILLIE POP (Made in England)

Monday 11 August 2014

Blogging has introduced us to some incredible new brands, the most recent being OTTILLIE POP! Jade already featured her OP dress last week and today it's my turn to show off my new digitally printed frock. OTTILLIE POP's amazing collection of bodycon and wrap dresses launches this Friday (15th August) but we were given the opportunity to get our paws on our favourite piece in advance!

I picked this beautiful Cadogan bodycon dress. I was a bit scared at first and wanted to size up, but the girls assured us their dresses run approximately half a size big, so I went for my normal size 8. When it arrived, I was blown away by the quality - the stock pictures really don't do it justice.

I'm really happy with the fit and it feels lovely and soft against my skin. I think it's such a versatile piece which can be worn to work, casually at the weekend, or on a night out! Each piece comes with a certificate which is signed by everyone who made it - a super sweet touch.

Love Hearts and Crosses Spirit Collection

Mi Moneda Necklace (c/o) - Love Hearts and Crosses Ring (c/o)

I wanted my jewellery to *pop* against the epic print so opted for my turquoise filigree ring from the new Love Hearts and Crosses Spirit Collection and this Mi Moneda Galaxya Aqua Coin. Us Rawrgirls can't get enough of Mi Moneda and always try to mix things up by updating our coins... How cool is this one!?

I'm really excited for the launch of OTTILLIE POP, I'd say it's a *more sophisticated* Black Milk. Prices range from between £79 - £89 which is a great price considering everything is digitally printed and handcrafted in Britain.

Are you a fan of digital prints? Will you be shopping at OP?

T- Finally embracing the bodycon.

Pure London August 2014 Review!

Sunday 10 August 2014

Last Sunday, I attended Pure London 2014 with the awesome Steph of FAIIINT! Going to Pure has become a biannual tradition for me, I love discovering new brands, previewing upcoming collections, and saying hello to some of the companies I've worked with through The Style Rawr.

Elia B Silver Brogues

We had so much fun browsing the stalls and keeping our eyes peeled for stand-out SS15 trends. Insider tip: EVERYONE will be wearing silver brogues next year... Ooooh yes! My favourite stall was Elia. B. I remember visiting them a year ago and talking with the man behind the brand, a charming gent with an in-depth knowledge of footwear. He was so passionate and his love for the brand rubbed off on me and I featured these beautiful brogues earlier this year. He was back again last Sunday and when I told him I owned a pair of his brogues, he was overjoyed! Hand on heart, they are the nicest pair of shoes I own. Handmade in Italy, I feel amazing when I wear them. The silver ones above are next on my hit list!

Pure London 2014 Blogger Review
Photos by Steph of FAIIINT & myself.

It was also nice to look at the upcoming Nica handbags collection, this season's cute little fox has been replaced by an even cuter kitty. Spring/Summer 2015 is all about the mini bag, I'm yet to own one but I think I'll get one from Nica when the new styles come out next year.

There was a nice selection of leather on display, my favourite being a beautiful pale blue jacket from Yaya Fashion. It isn't a brand I'd heard of before but they had so many wonderful pastel pieces, I'm definitely going to be checking them out in the future.

Rawr faves Mod Dolly and Yull Shoes were also exhibiting and I can confirm they have some delicious new pieces due out next season. The Yull coloured brogues = OH BOY. I also spotted a maxi kimono from Neon Rose which I will surely be purchasing when it's released.

I definitely recommend checking out Pure London if you're a buyer, designer or blogger! I can't wait for the next show in February 2015. Have you been to Pure? Do you have any favourite pieces from the photos above?

T - Excited for SS 2015!
