OTTILLIE POP Dresses - Made in England!

Tuesday 5 August 2014

New fashion start up, OTTILLIE POP, launches next Friday 15th August with a jawdropping collection of digitally printed bodycon and wrap dresses priced between £79-£89. OTTILLIE POP dresses are all shipped direct from the sewing room in Staffordshire, where the brand does all their sourcing, design and development, sampling and production. They are all about proving that it is possible to ethically manufacture high quality designer pieces in Britain without charging a designer price. Can I get a HELL YEAH up in hurrrrr?!

A selection from the OTTILLIE POP bodycon range.

We were lucky enough to be sent a sample each for a show and tell pre-launch. Obviously I went straight for the leopard print, though I have to admit that I was a tad dubious about the bodycon style (it's not usually my first choice of dress shape), but hey ho, I was feeling saucy that day so I thought what the hellz, let's do this. I'm so glad I did because this dress is all kinds of amazing!

First off, can I just give a big shout out to the genius who decided to include a pattern matched print and card, hand signed by each member of the OP team who worked on this particular dress! It's SUCH a nice touch and really made the delivery feel special :)

The dress itself is a real beauty, cut from thick, silky, stretchy, super flattering lycra that just slips through your fingers. The pattern is perfectly executed and despite being a very colourful and very busy leopard print it still manages to look chic, which is very difficult to do. Trust me, I'm a leopard print connoisseur. To the outfit! . . .

Outfit: Dress - c/o OTTILLIE POP, Jacket - Pull & Bear, Bag - Grafea, Boots - Dr Martens, Necklace - c/o Mi Moneda.

I know a lot of girls would immediately see this as an evening dress and reach for a pair of killer heels and a clutch, but my first thought was that it would look cool dressed down with my trusty leather and some stompy boots. It's an all rounder. I think it would also look very cute with a pair of trainers like NB's or Adidas Gazelles? Tres versatile.

Isn't the print gorgeous?! You can see the quality of the material on this next pic, there are no dodgy see through stretched out bits or white undershow here. This is a size 12 which fits perfectly all over, so I think they probably run a little big because I am occasionally forced kicking and screaming into a 14 - TUT ;) I felt like a queen in this dress, my body confidence soared in a style that I would usually avoid. Even with such an eyecatching print and such bright colours, I was strutting around without my jacket like my little tummy didn't exist and I was all Kimmy K hourglass - yey me!

When it came to frosting such an awesome dress, I simply popped in my new Mi Moneda coin - Mint Roca, to add to the colour pop. It's my new fave pendant Moneda. The Roca's are super affordable at around £12-£15 depending on size, but they really change it up and look so much more expensive. This mint green one, when sat in the gold pendant like this, kinda matches my jade/gold engagement ring which makes me love it even more :)

And there could only be one bag for the job, my neon Grafea rucksack, which follows through with the brights. As Will and Jen said, you can go hard or you can go home.

And finally, these are my new Dr Martens Alodie boots. Prepare yourselves to see a lot of these bad boys this season. They're potentially the new Cat Lita's.

I'm a fan, and, *spoiler alert for a future post*, I'm pretty sure Tara is too ;) But what do you think? Is OTTILLIE POP for you? If you think YES, then you should defo sign up to the mailing list before 11th August to get a 30% discount code emailed to you when the site launches a few days later!

Good luck to OTTILLIE POP for launch day, we'll be there waving our flags for homegrown talent!

  3. The fabric of your pretty Ottillie Pop bodycon dress and your Mint Roca Mi Moneda coin pendant both look beautiful - I love the close-up photo showing the sparkle and detail. The other two Ottillie Pop bodycon range dresses are lovely as well. The print of the first dress shown is mesmerising. It's excellent news that Ottillie Pop is ethically manufacturing haute couture in Britain at reasonable prices.
