Rawr Girls Review: Treats from Swarovski!

Just before Christmas we were both treated to some gifts from Swarovski. We're huge fans of the brand and couldn't believe our eyes when we unwrapped our presents to find five special blue boxes! Christmas had certainly come early for us Rawr Girls.

We received three sparkly Christmas decorations and two beautiful pieces of jewellery:

Swarovski Christmas Figurinesc/o Swarovski

How adorable are these crystal Christmas figurines!? The little gingerbread man is my favourite but the snowman is just too cool for school - I love his little hat! The little star ornament is now half price and all three of these decorations make great keepsakes. I can't wait to add to my collection next year.

Vanilla Crystal Golden Shadow Necklace

Vi Narrow Braceletc/o Swarovski

The lovely vanilla crystal golden shadow necklace is simple but very elegant, it's the sort of piece that can be worn casually or on an evening. It also comes in silver and although I usually wear more silver, I really love the gold! The crystal is such a gorgeous colour.

The piece I'll get most wear out of is definitely the vi narrow bracelet. It's perfect for stacking and is totally 'me'. I like the cord detail and that it's just an everyday bracelet.

I took these snaps with my new 35mm lens which was a Christmas present from my parents and I'm quite impressed with the results. Do you like these photos? Do you own any Swarovski?

Mi Moneda and Pretty Little Thing!

Monday 30 December 2013

I hope y'all had the best Christmas ever! Mine was pretty hectic but bundles of fun. I've now gained approximately 5lbs but it was totally worth it. ;) You may remember last week Jade & I featured our personalised Mi Moneda necklaces in a daytime look, well today I've switched my coin and reversed the pendant carrier to create more of an evening outfit!

Lace Maxi Cardigan
Bristol Fashion BloggerMaxi cardigan and dress: c/o Pretty Little Thing - Necklace: c/o Mi Moneda

Earlier this year I was obsessing over maxi cardigans and there still seems to be a real shortage of nice, affordable ones! I couldn't believe my luck when I spotted this full length kimono (£25) at Pretty Little Thing. It's a really nice green/black colour, in case you're wondering I'm wearing a size 10 and at 5'7 and the length is just right for me. I paired it with my PLT sparkle cut out shoulder dress (£12) and this beautiful Mi Moneda necklace!

Mucho Black Mi Moneda NecklaceJewellery that matches every outfit.

This coin is called 'Mucho Black'. It's glittery and the perfect necklace for a night out! In my daytime look, the pendant carrier was facing the the other way with (white stones) so I flipped it to show the black ones. It's so pretty, non!?

Santa kindly brought me some different Mi Moneda coins long with a new larger necklace. I can't wait to start playing with the combinations.

Do you like this look? Are you a Mi Moneda fan?

Time To Get Back To It! A Hobbs Workwear Wishlist!

Friday 27 December 2013

Now the festivities of December are over, a lot of us will be thinking of giving our workwear wardrobes a bit of a revamp, I know I am! I totally plan to build a capsule closet of chic trousers, smart shirts, confidence building work dresses, a staple coat and some quality shoes and bags so I'm not tempted to dip into my casual weekend wear. With this in mind, in collaboration with Hobbs, behold the workwear wishlist! An aspirational dip into my new year new me office look . . .

1. Lacey Coat - Yep, it's pink, but you can use pink as a neutral if you are careful with the shade and I think the rose cover up looks darling.

2. Venitia Shirt - It's definitely worth paying more for a good white shirt and this one is firmly on my radar.

3. Millais Trouser - Navy looks awesome with pink and white, very preppy and youthful, which is why I'm making these straight legs my pick!

4. NW3 Roly Cat Tablet Holder - Because business should always come with a touch of party ;)

5. Audrey Slipper - Now everyone knows that leopard print is my favourite colour, and whilst one does try to be sensible, one should always remember one's Rawrgirl status soooooo . . .

6. NW3 Bugle Bag - Navy again! I've decided that I'm going to try to use smaller bags for work this year because when I take large ones I just invariably fill them with paperwork that never again sees the light of day, both weighing down my arm and mind. This little cutie is just the right size for an office life clearout.

Guys, look at that collage and try to tell me that pink, navy and leopard doesn't look bob on?! ;) Now I have my new year workwear inspiration, let's hit the boardroom!

Anyone else thinking about workwear this holiday?

J - Hobbviously.

The Dressing Room Exclusive Blogger Sale Preview!

Tuesday 24 December 2013

Merry Christmas Eve! We plan to spend the next 3 days stuffing our faces with mince pies, chocolate yule log and After Eights. Delicious. During the short periods of time when we're not eating, we'll be surfing the interwebz to check out all the sales.

One of our favourite boutiques The Dressing Room will be launching their sale over the Christmas period and they sent us a few items to style for an exclusive blogger sale preview!

Jacket: AX Paris - Scarf: Becksondergaard at The Dressing Room - Tee: Day Birger et Mikkelsen at The Dressing Room - Boots: UGG - Trousers: c/o Next

Becksondergaard Wild Star Scarf - Was £69, sale price £34.50

I've never tried anything from Day Birger et Mikkelsen before so I was surprised by how comfortable and soft this tee is! It feels amazing on and although it won't be in the sale, there will be other pieces from this brand on offer, along with this super stylish star print scarf from Becksondergaard. If you're a regular reader you'll know how much we love their scarves, they're pretty massive and are well worth the price tag!

Rosemunde dress: c/o The Dressing Room - Bracelets: ChloBo - Ring: Accessorize - Boots: c/o Bank

Rosemunde Lace Dress in Latte Was £175, sale price £99

Oh boy, I hope you love this dress as much as I do! Rosemunde is another stylish Danish brand, their pieces are very feminine and they have a great range of simple tops with beautiful lace detailing. This is a size small and has a nice relaxed fit. I absolutely adore it, I think it's the sort of dress Kate Middleton would also appreciate. My boyfriend is a huge fan of it too, he likes it when I dress like a lady! ;)

Tee: Nicole Farhi at The Dressing Room - Jacket: Warehouse - Scarf: Becksondergaard at The Dressing Room - Jeans: Stella McCartney - Hat: H&M - Boots: UGG

Becksondergaard Magnolia Scarf in Neon Pink Was £33, sale price £23
Nichole Farhi Breton Stripe Tee Was £85, sale price £42.50

When I first spotted this tee I thought OMGosh, I have to have it! Breton stripes are essential for any wardrobe and I can imagine Alexa Chung strutting down the street wearing this. I paired it with my favourite Stella McCartney jeans, a Warehouse biker (another sale bargain) and this neon Becksondergaard scarf! I really like this more affordable scarf, it fits slightly different to the more expensive range and it looks awesome wrapped around like a snood.

Twist and Tango Sequin Pocket Tee
Outfit: Hat - H&M, Scarf - Becksondergaard at The Dressing Room, Top - Twist & Tango at The Dressing Room, Jeans - BANK, Shoes - Converse, Watch - Sheen by Casio.

Becksondergaard Blurred Leo Scarf Rose Powder - Was £33, sale price £13.20.
Twist & Tango Abbey Black Sequin Pocket Top - Was £52, sale price £35.

The sequin pocket on this well cut and slinky Twist & Tango tee makes an otherwise everyday denim and Convs based outfit pop. The draped shape is super flattering, I'll take one in every colour please! Add a hot pink animal print scarf from Becksondergaard and I'm all set for a Made In Chelsea style brunch with the gals!

Maison Scotch Grandad Tee
Outfit : Scarf - Becksondergaard at The Dressing Room, Layered Top - Maison Scotch at The Dressing Room, Jeans - BANK, Shoes - Converse.

Becksondergaard Magnolia Scarf Classic Powder - Was £33, sale price £23.
Maison Scotch Grandad Tee - Was £70, sale price £49.

I love this double layered top from Maison Scotch. The green leopard print longline vest underneath is actually seperate to the black button up, so you effectively get 2 tops for the price of 1, and both are extremely wearable with or without each other! As always you can't go wrong with a bit of Becks, and this classic pattern and colourway goes with anything!

Great Plains Madison Dress
Outfit: Cap - Dr Martens, Dress - Great Plains at The Dressing Room, Gilet - Pretty Little Thing, Boots - Steve Madden at Dune.

Great Plains Madison Black Panel Dress - Was £55, sale price £38.

This LBD from Great Plains is a versatile wardrobe staple. I played around with several looks before deciding to really mix it up with biker boots, this seasons long fur gilet and my fave cap. The leather look accents on the waist and sleeves really lend this piece to an edgy dress down day, but it looks super classy with heels or boots for the office or a nice evening out. Got to love a multi tasker!

We had so much fun styling these pieces and The Dressing Room team even let us keep our favourite item. Thanks girls! We'll definitely be checking out their sale and perhaps buying ourselves a few early birthday presents...A-hem.

We've been sworn to secrecy BUT if you fancy a Christmas surprise, we suggest you sign up to their newsletter and watch your inbox on the 27th December. We're just sayin'.

Which look is your favourite? Are you a fan of the Christmas sales?

Oversized Tartan Zara Scarf and Nica SS14 Sara Satchel!

Monday 23 December 2013

This tartan scarf from Zara (£19.99) has been all over Pinterest/the blogosphere during the past few months, but I happily snapped it up when I spotted it in my local store. I don't *usually* buy those popular items as seen on everyone but this was too nice to resist.

I decided to wear it at the weekend with my new favourite Nica satchel from their SS14 collection! I already have a few Nica bags. They're sold online but are also stocked in John Lewis, House of Fraser and good ole Topshop, which is where I bought most of mine.

Scarf: Zara - Jacket: HIDE label - Jeans: c/o Meltin' Pot - Jumper: Wildfox - Boots: New Look - Bag: c/o Nica

I always find it really hard to find across the body bags which are the perfect size. I used my previous fringed Nica bag until it fell apart so now I'm glad I finally have a new one! I definitely need more black bags like this, they're ideal for everyday use. This Sara satchel retails for £39 but I've noticed they're currently on sale (along with lots of other styles) so it's worth having a browse online.

It's beautifully lined, has a magnetic closure, adustable strap and I just love the embossed floral detail. It also comes in tan if black isn't your thing.

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve tomorrow! I still need to decide what to wear on the big day. Decisions, decisions...

Have you heard of Nica before? What's your favourite style of bag?

APIVITA Product Review!

Saturday 21 December 2013

Last month we were both sent a selection of products from Greek based APIVITA! The brand name means the life of the bee and stems from the Latin words APIS (bee) and VITA (life). This name reflects their philosophy for an organised, productive and sustainable development modelled as the society of the bee. I was really excited to try their products because they use natural forumluas which are free of harmful ingredients such as parabens, propylene glycol and silicones.

Apivita product review
Products c/o APIVITA

The product I was most excited about trying was the propoline shine and revitalizing shampoo (£9). It has a delicious citrus scent and a really nice thick consistency. I do like this shampoo but the lack of foam took some getting used to! I was a bit disappointed when I realised it contains Sodium Laureth Sulphate (which is better than Sodium Lauryl Sulphate but hey), I know most shampoos and shower gels have SLES/SLS but I was hoping this wouldn't have any. It doesn't feel like it irritates my skin but I know some people would be put off by the SLES, I suppose it's just down to personal preference. I'd quite like to try it with the conditioner, I felt a bit naughty using my regular (paraben-licious) conditioner after washing with it. ;)

I was extremely impressed with the body nourish shower gel (£10.25) and it's definitely something I would buy. I suffer from bad eczema on my legs so showering usually leaves my skin feeling sore. I was a bit scared to rub this all over at first just because I'm used to my eczema stinging but I had to give it a go for important review purposes! Thankfully, my skin didn't even tingle. It's SLES free and contains 96% natural ingredients. Huzzah! It smells incredible (the lavender/almost fusion totally works) and has a nice consistency, not runny but not too gloopy. My skin felt hydrated and it's ideal for those with dry/sensitive skin like me.

natural lip balm

I had high hopes for the lip care with pomegranate (£4.13) and I wasn't disappointed. Made with 98% ingredients, applying this actually feels good for my lips! Again it smells amazing, and the pomegranate oils and vitamins C & E help protect the lips while the vitamin F and avocado prevent drying...Just what I need in these cold months. If pomegranate isn't your thing, there are quite a few different options. I want to try the cocoa butter next! This one is hydrating and moisturising.

You can buy their products online or via M&S beauty.

Have you heard of APIVITA before? Do you like using natural products?

Bristol Street Style - Very Magazine Feature!

Thursday 19 December 2013

In November I was contacted by Very.co.uk magazine, a new monthly mag which comes within the OK! magazine multi pack and is also sent to Very customers. Each month they have a street style section and this month they wanted to feature Bristol!

I was given the task of snapping stylish girls and I was prepared for it to be a somewhat tricky task... mostly because when I took photos for Motel at Glastonbury, the majority of stylin' festival goers didn't want to be photographed. Seriously.

Bristol Street Style

Thankfully, the fashionistas of Bristol were totally up for it which made my job that much easier! I photographed about 12 girls and the publishing team picked their favourite outfits for the feature (including me, huzzah!). I found the whole experience really fun and met some lovely people - I just want to do it all over again! I also put together a list of my top 3 things to do in the city.

Bristol Fashion Blogger

Leather jacket: HIDE label - Trousers and shoes: Primark - Ring: c/o Jon Richard - Satchel: Dr. Martens - Blouse: Mango - Hat: H&M

Gok Wan has described Bristol's style as slightly more individual, grungier, and a little bit more studenty compared to somewhere like Liverpool which is very glam and dressed up. I definitely agree with that assessment. Whenever I go to Liverpool with Jade, I'm always surprised by how glamorous the girls are and how much effort they put in. Almost everyone has a full face of make up, their hair styled and are rocking heels just to hit the shops! Even Jade goes shopping in heels. She's the glam one and I'm the grungey one. Fact. Saying that, I'm quite happy with my relaxed style, it's just the norm down here.

You may notice the uber stylish Amie of Credit Crunch Chic was also featured. I love Amie's style and I just knew her snap would make the magazine. Doesn't she look awesome?

Are you a fan of Bristol's laid back style?

T - Off to frame my copy of the mag. ;) XoX

Mi Moneda - Jewellery That Matches EVERY Outfit!

Tuesday 17 December 2013

A few weeks ago we were contacted by incredible jewellery company Mi Moneda and invited to create our own personalised necklaces. The brand name translates as 'my coin' in Spanish and each handmade pendant is interchangeable, allowing you to swap the coin to suit your outfit or mood.

I own the same Mi Moneda necklace as Rihanna, so was already a huge fan of theirs and literally squee'd when I read their email! They challenged us both to create a necklace we can wear in the day and then into the night by changing our 'Moneda's' or coins. The pendants are so versatile because with a quick switch of a coin, you can create a completely different look.

Today we'll be featuring our daytime outfits, we hope you like them!

Jewellery that matches every outfit
Mi Moneda Galaxya Azur coin
Coat: Boohoo - Cami: Topshop - Cardigan: c/o F21 - Jeans: F21 - Hat: Primark - Boots: New Look - Necklace: c/o Mi Moneda

My previous pendant is rose gold, so I decided to go for silver this time which is my preferred precious metal. I chose this Galaxya Azur coin because I love the colours and it catches the light beautifully. It's the sort of piece people can't help but comment on! I've seen this coin worn with an additional, smaller pendant/coin and it looks amazing doubled up.

This outfit is one of my typical casual ensembles - a faux fur coat, jeans, cut out boots and some statement jewellery! I think this necklace does all the talking, the pendant is the deluxe carrier set with white crystals on one side and black on the other.

Outfit: Necklace - c/o Mi Moneda, Cardigan - Warehouse, Shirt - Warehouse, Top - F21, Trousers - H&M, Bag - c/o Bank.

Jade likes to mix up her precious metals because all her fave jewelz are different colours, and Mi Moneda allows her to do this in one piece, that can then follow through to the rest of the look. Here she mixes rose gold and yellow gold, matching with a couple of midi rings to set off a mostly black casual daytime look, and adding her fave leopard leather coin for a bit of signature J!

The interchangeable pendants and coins come in several sizes but we opted for medium which is the perfect size for us. They make great investment pieces and Tara has already started mixing her two pendants. We may or may not have asked our loved ones for some more pieces for Christmas! Eeeep.

Check back next week to see our evening looks and different coins!

Have you heard of Mi Moneda? Do you like this concept?

Nightwear as Outerwear and Hummingbird Jewellery!

Monday 16 December 2013

As promised, today I'm wearing my M&S nightie as outerwear. My photographer (aka my mum) wasn't particularly impressed by this outfit but I like it! I've always wanted one of those shirt dresses everyone was wearing in the summer and now I have one. Huzzah!

Beara Beara BackpackChecked nightshirt: c/o M&S - Jacket: HIDE label - Backpack: Beara Beara - Tokyo Jane Bangles c/o The Dressing Room - Boots: New Look

How awesome is this Beara Beara backpack!? I was lucky enough to win it in a blog giveaway held by the gorgeous Kim of Love Cloth and it reminds me of the time I spent in Bolivia. If you've never been, it's such a beautiful country and I'd recommend it to everyone! This backpack is similar to those sold at the Witches Market in La Paz. I wanted to buy so many leather pieces when I was there but sadly I could only carry one satchel (which I adore)... The markets in La Paz are just incredible!

Jana Reinhardt JewelleryGold hummingbird ring: c/o Jana Reinhardt

My adorable hummingbird ring is from Jana Reinhardt, a lovely jewellery company who sell some of the prettiest designs around. This ring costs £73 (it's 24ct hard gold plated) but you can currently get £20 off all full priced items with the code 'blogger20'. Their pieces remind me of Alex Monroe but I prefer them because they're more affordable! If you still have a few Christmas gifts to buy you should definitely check out their website. I now want a hummingbird necklace. Too pretty!

Would you wear nightwear as outerwear? Have you shopped at Jana Reinhardt?

Today We're Wrapping... Gifts From Zalando!

Sunday 15 December 2013

Buying for friends at Christmas can be relatively easy but picking the right presents for older relatives takes a little more thought. My nan loves jewellery but because I don't have the biggest shopping budget this year, I decided to go bargain hunting at Zalando

She mostly wears silver and isn't a huge fan of costume jewellery but I was really lucky to find this pretty sterling silver pearl necklace by Lulu & Jane in the sale which I think she'll love! It was originally £42 reduced to £19 and comes in a pretty little presentation pouch. What a bargain.

Lulu and Jane Pearl Necklace at Zalando
Tokyo Jane Peace Beaded Bracelet
Necklace and bracelet: c/o Zalando

This awesome 'Gine' Tokyo Jane bracelet was also in the sale, reduced to £14 from £23. I think my auntie will really like it, she's quite trendy and young at heart! We both share a love of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West haha. This colour combo has now sold out but they still have a lovely mint green version in stock.

Designerwear shouldn't just be worn outside the home, and if you think about it, it's your loungewear that you probably get the most pounds per wear out of. J's man Tim loves a bit of luxe, and his UGG Australia slippers have become a must have, so J decided to treat him to a new pair for Christmas seeing as the last pair went down so well!

Ugg Australia Scuff Slippers - partially c/o Zalando

The Ugg Australia Scuff is a suede fully sheepskin lined mule slipper and J's other half worships them for their superior warmth and comfort. At £70 they aren't cheap but you really do get what you pay for and in J's eyes, one pair of these a year is a small price to pay for her boy's happiness ;) Zalando have a ton of UGG Australia for men so it's definitely worth checking out if your man is also a fan.

Have you bought all your Christmas presents yet? Are you a fan of Zalando?

Cosy Girls' Night In With M&S!

Saturday 14 December 2013

Who doesn't love a fun girly night with their besties? A few weeks ago, Marks and Spencer asked if I'd like to host a cosy girls' night in and provided me with a piece of nightwear, a pamper box, some Christmas movies and a voucher to buy nibbles!

Christmas Movies
Marks and Spencer Percy Pigs
Food from M and STreats: c/o M&S

We always buy tasty treats from M&S so I bought a mixture of things I've tried and a few I haven't! We ended up with some chocolate covered pretzels, percy pigs, operetta (my favourite), a full on flavour combo mix and some delicious presse drinks. We polished off the Scottish raspberry and British pear presse in next to no time and I'm not ashamed to say I ate most of the operetta by myself. Mmm...

We decided to watch Elf first which was hilarious! If you haven't seen it you're missing out and need to hire/buy it STAT. It took me a good 20 minutes to adjust to seeing Zooey Deschanel with blonde hair!

Christmas Gift Ideas Pamper products: c/o M&S
British Girls' Night In
Becky of The Piping Fairy - I'm wearing: Nightie c/o M&S - Kelly of Soul Sparkler

After the movie, we played with the beauty bits we were sent which was a lot of fun. We're all huge fans of the '1 minute facial' (£15), it smells amazing and left our skin feeling refreshed and smooth. The bliss fatgirlslim skin firming cream (£28.50) is a product I've heard a lot about, so I was really chuffed when I spotted it in our pamper box. We obviously couldn't see much of a difference after the first application but I'll continue to use it and report back in a few weeks! First impressions of the LOLA make up range are good, I can't wait to try the setting powder and the kabuki brush looks and feels really luxe.

I think any of these products would make lovely gifts/stocking fillers! If I had to choose my favourite, it would be the 1 minute facial. Such great value for money.

Limited Collection Pure Cotton Checked Nightshirt

My cute checked nightie (£17.50) is from the Limited Collection at M&S and since it's pure cotton, it's hella soft. I spotted it a few months back in store and got really excited because it's the perfect length and looks adorable with long socks. I love it so much that I'm even planning to wear it (undone) as outerwear. It's too nice to just wear indoors!

Do you love cosy nights in?

One Suit Four Ways - Styling The Man In My Life!

Friday 13 December 2013

Last month we were invited to take part in M&S's latest campaign, one suit four ways. My dad has been buying his suits from Marks and Spencer for over 20 years so I know they're great quality. The challenge was to style my man in four different ways for four different occasions using the same suit.

If you haven't met my boyfriend before, brace yourself for this picture heavy post, the next 8 images are all about him...

Outfit 1 - Formal:

Outfit 4 - Boys Night OutBoys Night Out Clothing
Marks and Spencer Herringbone SuitSuit c/o Marks and Spencer

Outfit 1 - Formal
How dapper is this look!? The slim fit grey herringbone suit works perfectly with Sam's pale blue shirt, navy tie and leather shoes from Clarks. This was the easiest look to style and when worn like this, it makes the perfect outfit for a wedding or a job interview. *SWOON*

Outfit 2 - Casual Winter Weekend
The suit jacket is extremely versatile and when paired with an oxblood knit, black denim jeans and suede brogues, it helps to create a stylish weekend look. Since it's pretty chilly, I added a black beanie and plaid scarf to make sure he was cosy enough. The watch he's sporting is his favourite £1 vintage find.

Outfit 3 - City Break Shopping Day
I really wanted to create a casual look with the smart suit trousers. Sam usually wears a lot denim but I love how well these trousers work when worn like this. He's always in a basic tee so I added an unbuttoned burgundy shirt, his favourite blue shirt jacket and a pair of Converse. He has the perfect face for sunglasses so I also let him borrow my Clubmaster II's and the leather satchel we picked up in Bolivia! I think it's a great outfit to wear for a European shopping day.

Outfit 4 - Boys night out
My boyfriend isn't really one for wearing a shirt on a night out (unless it's unbuttoned and over a tee) but he still manages to look smart. These teal trousers are a little bit nicer than everyday denim and look good with the beige henley tee, suit jacket and leather shoes. The woolly hat is a nice addition of colour but it would obviously come straight off as soon as he reached the bar.

I hope you like the four different looks! Sam's wearing the super slim herringbone suit (£99) from the Marks and Spencer Limited Collection. It's beautifully lined and fits so well, such a bargain for less than £100! We couldn't be more impressed.

Have you tried styling your man before? Do you also love a man in a suit?

T - Mission accomplished. XoX
