The Stargazer Shake And Bling Challenge!
Wednesday, 28 September 2011
Introducing a Rawrgirl's entry to the Stargazer Shake & Bling Challenge!
Stargazer have been challenging bloggers to create a bit of fancy nail art using a selection of their products - 1 Nail Polish, 1 Glitter Shaker, 1 Nail Art Pen, a set of Nail Gems and a base/top coat of your choice, so I thought 'Hmmm, why the hellz not?!'.
I chose nail polish number 118 (an opaque white), a red Glitter Shaker pot, a black Nail Art Pen and a pack of teeny Nail Gems. Look see...
Then I applied my love of Alice In Wonderland and Gambit from X-Men (NERD ALERT!) to inspire these playing card nails! What do you think? I did it all myself, beams with pride....
The base is 3 coats of the 118 polish and I also applied a clear top coat. Once that was dry, I painstakingly made a clear polish guide in the shapes of a heart and a diamond and tapped the red Glitter Shaker onto each nail so the glitter caught onto the polish and stuck, I pushed it into place using an orange stick and finished with a few random nail gems to make the shape pop!
The black spade and club were hand drawn (holding my breath!) with the black Nail Art Pen, and once again finished with a sporadic Nail Gem. As there is only 4 suits to a deck, I decided to simply gem up my thumbnail so it wouldn't detract from the 4 main nails. And that was it, da daaaaaa!
I kinda love these nails. Granted I only did one hand, and simply painted the other hand in a bright red, but I think that looks cool. And I'd like to shake the person by the hand who can draw on a club with their 'wrong' hand!
I had a ball doing this. Stargazer have some amazing nail products (amongst other cosmetics obvi), check out the full range on their webby and be inspired to create your own nails with attitude!
J - I challenge thee to a nail off!
