Autumn Winter Trends: Matte Lips With The Body Shop x House of Holland

Thursday 30 November 2017

One of my favourite Autumn/Winter beauty trends is matte lips. I've actually been wearing a matte lip since forever (read: 3 years) and I'm glad it's starting to become increasingly popular, because more and more lip products are being released. This season, Rawr faves The Body Shop have collaborated with the one and only Henry Holland to create some wonderful Christmas gift sets. Included within the collection is this pretty awesome matte liquid lip kit, which would make a sweet festive gift.

The HOH Limited Edition Matte Lip Liquid Collection comes in a cute tin, in the shape of a pair of luscious lips. I'm such a big fan of House of Holland's clothing and accessories, so I'm pleased the packaging is playful and on brand! Inside, there are three gorgeous shades of matte lip liquid:

Matte Lip Liquid Set: The Body Shop (c/o)

These three shades are Windsor Rose, Nairobi Camellia and Mauritius Dahlia. Each Matte Lip Liquid applies like lip gloss but has a lovely, velvety finish. They are 8ml in size (so pretty decent) and do retail separately for £6 each. The set itself costs £15 so the kit provides a nice little saving and comes with a super cool tin. Bonus.

Like all make up from The Body Shop, these are cruelty-free. The lip liquids are also 100% vegetarian. Each colour is long lasting and rather impressively, has a high pigment finish. I tend to suffer from dry and often sensitive lips, but these aren't at all drying and don't irritate my skin.

So what do they look like on?

The Nairobi Camellia is definitely the shade I'd be drawn to if I were in-store, and it's my favourite on! Would you agree? I love light pink shades, even through Autumn/Winter, so it's one I'll be stocking up on. I think these colours are suitable for most skin tones, so I can see this set being a fantastic Secret Santa or Stocking Filler gift.
