This will be the first of two Glastonbury posts. I didn't take a DSLR so please excuse the poor quality snaps, I was hella jealz of the festival revellers I spotted with cameras but not enough to lug my own around for 12-14 hours a day (or queue to put it in lock up). The weather was pretty awful and by Saturday the whole place was covered in thick, sloppy mud. Waaaah. I left at 5am on Wednesday morning so by Friday my hair was begging to be washed. Cue Vanity Van...
I pre-booked my slot at Vanity Van on Friday for a luxury hair styling appointment. It cost £43.49 and I had to wash my own hair (in freezing cold water) but it was worth it for the blow dry and styling... I felt so good afterwards! My hair stylist was a mega babe and I'd definitely recommend using Vanity Van if you want to look your best. Unfortunately we were hit my a thunderstorm shortly after, so my beautiful hair only lasted 5 minutes! At least this snap will last forever...
Dress: Pull + Bear - Necklace: Accessorize - Hunter boots: c/o Blacks - Hat: H&M - Bag: c/o Fiorelli
I didn't take any full outfit snaps besides this one (pre-mud), just because the rain made it impossible and I was always running from stage to stage while trying not to fall over. The music was incredible and my favourite act was Lana Del Rey. OBVIO. She's so mesmerising and her vocals were flawless.
I'm really glad I didn't overpack this year, my nautical skater dress from Pull and Bear was one of my most worn pieces because it's such a great basic piece. There's also no way I could've survived Glastonbury festival without my Hunter wellies, these ones served me well! It's worth investing in a pair of good wellington boots, we spotted piles of broken and abandoned ones in the mud on Saturday.
My super cute Perry crossbody bag is from Fiorelli and is the perfect size for festivals. Although you can't tell from the above photos, on the reverse side it has a slot for a detachable coin purse which comes with the bag! The purse is just like my dress (click the above link to see it properly) and who can say no to double nautical!? ;) I really love all the handy pockets, I felt my belongings were really safe which is important when you're stood in a big crowd.
Did you go to Glastonbury? Are you a fan of crossbody bags?
T - Excited for Glasto 2015!
Such a lovely outfit! Skater style dresses are so versatile at festivals, you can wear them bare legged if it's hot or with tights if it's cold - they're something I always pack :)
ReplyDeleteSo lovely to see you at Glasto, hopefully see you soon! :)

Awe you look gorgeous :) just love the hair and that dress looks so flattering on you and I really like the stripes xx It looks like you had a great time at the festival, I have seen little bits in the paper and its always a let down when it rains :( if only it would stay sunny, it always rains at festivals ha,ha especially T in the Park!! I still haven't been to T in the Park but only live an hour away from the event, will need to save up for next year maybe ;) I find crossbody bags so comfortable and easy to throw on its my favourite style especially if you don't want to carry much around with you xx

i do think it's a bit much to charge £40+ & make you wash your own hair (in COLD water)!

ReplyDeleteI am a BIG fan of cross body bags, they are possibly the best invention ever for me! Haha. I also love your super chic sunnies ♥
Take care,

Cross body bags are essential for festivals, though I'm partial to a cute backpack, too. My wellies gave up the ghost this year and I had to 'invest' in some cheapy ones on the Saturday - apparently they're Ted Baker but I'm not convinced...
ReplyDeleteYou look fab Tara! So glad you had fun, it looked amazing!

LOVE your hair! Loved it on instagram too, I love the little waves in it and your thick fringe. But stop it, otherwise I'll get a fringe again! I hope you enjoyed Glastonbury and avoided getting trench foot.
