Last Saturday I attended Bristol Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014, held at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway. I wasn't able to make the official live blogging show but I lucky enough to be invited on the weekend so I wouldn't miss out! I always love going to BFW, the shows are really fun (and never your typical boring fashion show) and inspiring. This season was no different, it was hosted by style guru Mark Heyes and celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton. The boys have the best chemistry and often have the audience in fits of giggles.
It was a nice sunny day but extremely windy, so I decided to wear a classic all black outfit with a splash of pink. Sometimes less is more. Jade was actually sent the Ziba Naima necklace I'm wearing to review, but because she's the best pretend big-sis a girl could have, she gifted it to me! Huzzah.
Coat: c/o ASOS - BWD Tee: c/o Black White Denim - Jeans: c/o Oasis - Elia B. Brogues: c/o Brand Boudoir - Necklace: c/o Ziba
The show was sold out but we managed to sit in the third row. It wasn't the ideal position for taking photos but I still took a lot of pictures so I've only featured my favourite looks! There was a group of lucky 10-year-olds sitting FROW with the best view - miniature bloggers in the making, I'm sure.
Bristol Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014
I don't usually wear a lot of preppy clothing but I really liked the taupe Timberland Earthkeepers Peacoat worn over white jeans. I definitely need to get some white denim this Spring/Summer! I never venture into Timberland but I think I'll be heading in there the next time I'm at the Mall. Nauticual is back (isn't it every year?) and I couldn't help but swoon all over the stripe swimsuit from John Lewis - it's so flattering! I also liked the model's floppy hat. Go figure. ;)
One of the best things about BFW is how entertaining the show is, the models don't just strut their stuff, they also dance! Each scene tells a story and the new SS14 Ann Summer's collection was shown off via a Bollywood inspired dance. I like bright lingerie and the pink/green combo reminded me of the Britney Spears Overprotective video... Props to you if you know what I mean!
There were a couple of jumpsuits on display which left me with a sudden urge to go buy one. I think the Warehouse Wide Leg Tuck Neck Jumpsuit was the most striking, the model looked beautiful! I've since tried a few on in but I'm just still looking for the perfect one for me. I love florals for Spring/Summer, John Lewis has a huge range of pretty frocks and skirts but my stand out pieces included the Ted Baker Cocoe Rose Dress and Ramonda Orchid Print Tunic! Ted Baker have really raised their game this season, I want so many of their pieces.
Mid-show the presenters encouraged the audience to donate money to the Bristol Breast Care Centre Appeal and promised to take a with makeup selfie if enough money was donated. The audience donated and true to their word, they slapped some makeup on! The show ended with a Carnival-inspired finale featuring several brands - I loved the pink lasercut bikini from River Island worn with an awesome feather headdress. I can just imagine myself wearing this on the beach in a few months.
Would you wear any of these outfits? Have you ever attended a fashion week?
T - Off to find THE jumpsuit and some yellow accessories. Apparently it's all about yellow this Spring/Summer!
I LOVE that coat TARA! Also, the swimsuit would be a must on my holiday list :) xx

Your Asos coat is a lovely shade of pink and looks wonderful styled with your Black White Denim Tee and Oasis Jeans. Even though I generally like the retro look in swimsuits I still love that laser cut River Island bikini. The florals in your photos from Bristol Fashion Week SS 2014 are beautiful. I love the colours and the outfits. The pink bra in the fifth photo and the purple bra in the 6th photo are both lovely in colour. I agree with you that the striped swimsuit is a beauty. Believe it or not I've never been to a fashion week in person. That yellow dress in the seventh photo is pretty. Now you have me trying to imagine myself wearing each of the different outfits. This may take a while.
