Stylish Men's Wedding Rings and Groomsmen Gifts at Fraser Hart!

Wednesday 6 May 2015

Last week Tim and I paid a visit to Rawr fave Fraser Hart in Manchester's Trafford Centre, to have a look at wedding rings for him, a super important task but one that my future groom had not yet given one tiny thought to!

We were treated to a glass of bubbly as our super helpful sales assistant gently probed my man to get an idea of the styles he might like to see. It didn't take too long before Timmy was describing a preference for something with a matte finish, preferably in a silver tone with a wide band, and just like that an expertly chosen selection appeared before us! Yellow gold was a total no go for him and silver and titanium weren't special enough, so rose gold and palladium were our metals of choice. Palladium is lightweight but durable and tarnish resistant, whilst rose gold is well, just pretty right? To the rings! . . .

Now like any good shopper, I'd already done my homework online and spied this beauty, the Men's palladium 950 and 9ct rose gold hammered finish ring (£825). I just love the rose gold trim peeking out at the edges, and as the only other jewellery Tim ever wears are his watches which are either silver or rose gold, I figured we could tick the mixy matchy box with this ring! Isn't it gorgeous? The hammered finish is a nice touch too, very modern man.

This Men's palladium 950 and 9ct rose gold 6mm ring (£825) was also a front runner. We both liked the way the rose gold is protected by the palladium, as durability is key with Tim having a very hands on dayjob.

How unusual is this new in Men's palladium 950 and 9ct rose gold wave wedding ring (£825)? It is stunningly crafted and reminded me of fishscales! Very Aquaman, but alas, not quite Timmy.

This Men's palladium 950 6mm wedding ring (£675) was really eyecatching. The polished rings around the brushed centre sparkled like diamonds, the effects you can get out of metal is amazing!

This Platinum 5mm court wedding ring (£1150) is a little out of our price range, but sooooooo beautiful. I can totally see why people pay out for platinum if it's within budget!

So which style was the number one pick? This Men's palladium 950 6mm ring (£675)! Again, it has that masculine hammered effect to the majority of the band, but all palladium this time. I think this is number 1 choice in Tim's mind, though he's yet to decide. MEN ;)

So while he was comfortable and in the jewellery mood, we moved on to looking at potential gifts for his best man and groomsmen (you have to grab these boy mood-free shopping opportunities right?!). There are so many cool gifts for the guys in Fraser Hart, but we narrowed it down to these three ideas for now!

This leather bracelet would be perfect for that free spirited friend who we're counting on to be the life and soul of the reception party. I could play with that magnetic clasp all night too.

The huge selection of Hugo Boss cufflinks makes it easy to pick out different styles and colour preferences for all the boys, keeping the gift theme intact but tailoring the gifts to the individuals.

This Emporio Armani stainless steel cufflink and tie clip gift set (£125) would make a nice standout gift for the best man or father of the bride/groom, classic and forever useful.

We got tons of useful ideas from this go see trip, the Fraser Hart staff are so well informed on the products and super helpful, nothing was too much trouble!

Us girls are so used to wearing rings every day that it's just natural for us to know exactly how our engagement/wedding bands will look and feel but it's totally different for most men. Like I said, Tim doesn't wear any jewellery other than watches, so he had no idea how the different metals would feel on his hand or what colour he preferred. It was so cute watching him try them all on, the puzzled face gradually changing to one of appreciation for the pieces he was seeing (PHEW!) and finally being able to discuss his preferences without him shrugging his shoulders. I'm just glad that I can now rest assured that he won't be using a Haribo ring or a piece of tin foil on the day ;)

Huge thanks to Fraser Hart Trafford Centre for a lovely couple of hours, we'll definitely be back!

  1. I love that first ring. The hammered finish (I was going to put hammeredness but that's not a word) gives a really nice effect.
All this palladium talk just reminds me of Iron Man.
