If you're like me, you're bored of Winter clothing and have already started working on your Spring/Summer wardrobe! Our friends at Very.co.uk have recently launched their brand new TV advert 'Bring the Colour' and to celebrate, we're giving you the chance to win a dress from their SS14 Definitions collection.
The advert is all about shaking off the winter blues and standing out from the crowd this Spring with bright, bold colours. I was asked to recreate a scene from the ad so I chose to head to Cabot Circus in Bristol and inject a bit of colour into the high street.
Definitions dress: c/o Very.co.uk
I definitely stood out from the crowd when I took these photos, most people were wearing black, navy and grey! I was allowed to choose my favourite item from the collection to style, so I opted for this lovely floral pencil dress. I don't think the pictures do it justice, it's such a gorgeous piece and feels fantastic on. I opted for the size 8 which is slightly loose on me but it's very comfortable and I feel great it in. It's available in sizes 8 - 24 and I'm really impressed by the range of sizes, more stores should follow suit. It's perfect for wearing to the office but I quite like it as just a smart/casual day dress!
If you would like to win the same dress I'm wearing (worth £45), simply follow the instructions below:
- Leave a comment on this post telling us how you will bring colour to your wardrobe this SS14.
- Follow both @verynetwork and @TheStyleRawr on Twitter.
- Tweet 'Enter the #BringTheColour giveaway by @TheStyleRawr to win an outfit by Definitions http://www.very.co.uk/
definitions/e/b/4294958685.end' and leave your Twitter name below.
This competition closes on 13th March 2014 and is only open to residents based in the UK who are aged 18 or older.
T - Good luck!
[THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED] - Congrats to our lucky winner, @emma_vegan_mua!

Oh my lord, this dress is amazing. I recently stepped out in a bright turquoise dress for a few drinks & you'd think I was an alien, so many people complimented the bright colour choice! - Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis summer I really want to experiment with statement bright coloured trousers & skirts. Or even just swapping my usual black pumps to something electric in colour to brighten up my ever growing collection of black and neutral dresses!

ReplyDeleteNot sure I need to inject any more colour into my wardrobe at the moment - there's loads of purple, red, pink, electric blue, jade green... I very rarely wear black/navy head to foot and if I do there's usually sequins, sparkles or bling of some sort. If I need a quick colour lift I usually look for a scarf in one of the on-trend colours - there so many different ways to wear a scarf it's like several accessories in one x
ReplyDeleteLove the dress you are wearing, I adore bright colours, cheers you up. Even if I am wearing something fairly neutral I try to add a pop of colour with accessories, particularly like scarves. Tweeted as @cillastubbs
ReplyDeleteIm terrible for wearing only black and grey but I always give a big pop of colour with some bright shoes or chunky colourful jewellery! :D
ReplyDeleteI have tweeted - @PRisebero, Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is so colourful and beaut! Definitely adds a cheer to the dull weather. Plus, I love how it's quite modest but stylish at the same time. Could be styled for so many occasions!

If you could see the dress I am wearing today.... Everyone in the office said the same thing - 'you're looking very colourful today'!
ReplyDeleteI will try and wear more colours as I gravitate towards mixing everything with black - wearing the colourful stuff is an instant mood boost, not just for me but for everyone else around me. Even if it's just for them to laugh at my somewhat unusual combos.
I tweeted and my handle is @hellothmushroom xx
You look fabulous posing there on High Street in that colourful Very.co.uk Definitions floral dress! I love Spring, I love vibrant colour, and I love florals. Some shades of reds, purples, and pinks can clash with each other but the colours in the print of your dress complement each other beautifully. Your hair looks very pretty as do your eyes and smile. I love your outfit, your look, and these photos of you showcasing the dress.

Bringing colour to my wardrobe is one of my fashion plans. I always go for bright nails and lips but stick to fairly neutral clothes, which is interesting because I used to do the exact opposite! I must admit I haven't got as far as working out how to do it but I think not talking myself out of buying the bold items I'm often drawn to is the way to go.
