Rawrgirls Review . . . Richard Ward The Chelsea Collection!

Tuesday 3 September 2013

Tara and I are big on trying new products in the ongoing mission to achieve Disney Princess hair, so it is with great pleasure that I can introduce you to some products from the new haircare range, Richard Ward The Chelsea Collection! Keratin is super stylist Richard's hero ingredient, it is hair's natural protein which interacts with hair to protect and rebuild the natural fibres. Chemistry stuff yo.

I sampled four items, all available exclusively from Waitrose (currently on a 2 for £8 offer!) and I have to say, I'm impressed!

The Richard Ward Keratin Restore Shampoo and seperate Conditioner (both £5.99 each for 250ml) are restoring products with chicory extract for strength and vitality, and yucca vera for suppleness and shine. The shampoo is yummy, with a fantastic lather (yeah yeah I know that doesn't mean anything but it feels good!). I don't tend to condition my hair every time I wash it, but even without conditioner my hair rinses off feeling strong and sleek and the comb goes straight through before drying. The conditioner feels amazing too, you don't need a lot at all and hair feels super sleek upon rinsing.

I've tried the Richard Ward Keratin Rehab Treatment (£5.99 for 150ml), once a week for a few weeks now and it's becoming a weekend beauty treat that I look forward to. It's an ultra rich conditioning treatment with vitamin and silk protein for intense re-hydration and protection. My hair blow-drys like a dream after using this, and there's no greasy residue which I find can be a problem after intensive treatments. Fine holiday fun for the price.

Finally, the Richard Ward Keratin Styling Spray (£5.99 for 125ml) is a bounce building styling spray with lime oil for radiance and Vitamin E for an invisible hold. It really does pack a good hold meaning I can leave my usual root spray on the shelf, plus it also gives my hair a glossy finish after drying, leaving my usual shine spray redundant too if I felt the need. I would definitely purchase this, and I think it would save me spending on other products which is always a bonus.

If you're wondering, I have pretty strong, normal, uncoloured hair so it's quite hardy when presented with new products. I'm not sure if such heavily moisturising products would suit fine hair, for example, but I know they suit mine so game on, Keratin all the way!
