Bonjour mes amis! ;) Last week I went to Paris with my mum, her friend and my partner in crime, Browniekins. I've been to Paris before but I've never really explored it properly. We stayed in a lovely little apartment in Montmartre with a view of the Eiffel Tower. I couldn't believe how perfect the location was, the place belongs to a beautiful American ex-supermodel and her husband. I think we lucked out!
I thought I'd include some of my favourite snaps from the weekend. Unfortunately my blogtographer wasn't with me, so I only have a few outfit photos. We visited most of the famous sights and I was practically on a cake diet for the entire trip.
Brownie is wearing: Necklace: Regal Rose - Vest: Topshop - Skirt: Mango - Gladiators: Kurt Geiger
I'm wearing: Hat: H&M - Sunnies: Prada - Necklace: Accessorize - Top & Belt: Topshop - Skirt: La Redoute
This was my favourite outfit of the trip, I have this skirt in white too which I also love. I definitely need some more maxi skirts! We visited the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and the Galeries Lafayette but as hard as I tried, I couldn't find anything to buy (that was less than £500). *Sigh*
While trying to shop we went to to Ladurée and queued for ages so I could get my paws on some nommy macaroons! They were totally worth the wait, the salted caramel flavour is delicious. We had lots of fun in the Louvre, although my little ring was stolen from the toilets. If you ever visit, never use the toilets after security. YUCK. I was most excited to see the Eiffel Tower at night.
The view is 100 x more beautiful at night and this last snap reminds me of The Great Gatsby...Get it? ;) Every time I look at the photo I can hear Florence belting out 'I can see the green light, I can see it in your eyes!'
Brownie is wearing: Dress: Apricot - Sandals: Kurt Geiger
I'm wearing: Hat: H&M - Necklace: Azendi - Dress: c/o River Island - Cut-out boots: New Look
The outfit that earned me the most attention, was the above look featuring my Rihanna x River Island culotte dress. Please know that I am not overly sensitive about being stared at. I'll happily stand in the middle of a shopping centre and 'werk it' for blog posts. The French either hated this outfit (possible) or loved it. I was practically being stared at by every French speaking person we came across for the whole day. Girls were nudging each other, lonesome guys were double taking and the others were agreeing with whatever their girlfriends said. I'm almost convinced they weren't fans because they love classic looks and nobody else was wearing dip-hem. To my fellow tourists I was invisible.
To be honest, I found Parisian street style extremely disappointing. It's all just a bit Zara/Mango to me (not the interesting pieces, the plain ones). Girls in London have definitely got it going on compared to most of these French chicks! Obviously this doesn't always apply to those rockin' designers, I mean your average woman haha. The city is inspiring, the high street fashion - not so much.
Have you been to Paris before? Do you like any of these outfits?
T - Paris, je t'aime. XoX
Lovely pictures! I've been to Paris once before and I absolutely loved it, I know what you mean about high street fashion though, it wasn't as bold as I thought it would be! Loved noseying around the designer shops though :) xx
