The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Post!

Wednesday 3 April 2013

Okey dokey doggy daddy, we've been tagged in The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger tag (created by The Beau Bow) by Sophie of Filthy Paws & Silky Drawers (why thank you my dahling!) and I DO love to fill things in, so here we go!

The Rules
1. Thank the tagger and link them in the post - TICK!
2. State that this tag was created by The Beau Bow - TICK!
3. Copy and Paste the rules - TICK!
4. Tag some more beauty bloggers and link them to the post - At the end guys!
5. Title this The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Post so bloggers know what the post is about - TICK!
6. Have fun! :) - Alrighty then!

I'm going to start off with a pic of my 'face'. These are all the colour cosmetic products of my everyday face, it's quite shocking when you lay it all out!

From L-R!

Dr Perricone No Foundation Foundation - I use this as a base so I don't have to wear a full face of heavy foundation. It makes me glow from underneath! Expensive, but it lasts forever.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation - Applied sparingly over the Perricone wherever I need a touch more coverage on bad days (often!).

Benefit Fake Up Concealer - A must have girls, this thing is a miracle worker!

Rimmel Clear Complexion Concealer - Discontinued but you can still find it on Ebay. I prefer this one to Hide The Blemish for concealing and drying up stubborn spots and I've used it since my teens.

Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush - I have a stack of these and I like to change the colour I use depending on my lipstick and eyeshadows. Mix it up a little.

Benefit Hello Flawless Powder - A pressed powder finer than Taylor Kitsch (probably not possible but you get the idea) and with more coverage than Hugh Jackman's chest hair.

HD Brows Foxy Palette - You don't know the strength of your own brows until you use this bad boy.

Benefit They're Real Mascara - Quite simply the best I've tried. It's weaned me off falsies, and that's a big deal.

Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero - The blackest black and super long lasting - flick away!

MAC Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick - I used to be a nude girl until I discovered this super flattering neon pink!

And taking centre stage is the Urban Decay Oz Theodora palette! The BEST selection of eye shadows for creating a sultry but natural look. I haven't used any other shadows since I got this (and Glinda) on release. Wicked.

And to the questions!

1. Name a beauty regime that you rarely do.
Eye cream. I've tried to incorporate it into my cleansing routine but I've never seen any benefits from using it and I have pretty good skin around my eye area anyway so I tend to get bored of it - eeek!

2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
Um, noooooo - the shame! To be fair I only use 2 actual brushes (a blusher brush and a eye shadow brush) and I do clean them but nowhere near as much as I believe you should.

3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
Literally until I can get my hands on either the polish to cover the chip or nail polish remover to remove the whole thing for a redo. The whole mussed up chipped to hell look is not for me.

4. How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty or nail polish product even if you need it (i.e. purchasing a new top coat, foundation etc)?
If I need it, then I don't put it off but often I don't actually need anything because I'm a faddy beauty buyer, and we all know how fast cosmetic companies rotate new products. TOO fast!

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Not removing my mascara at night. It's PURE laziness and that's all it is. I will quite happily take my skin makeup off and run the cotton wool over my eye shadow to remove that (kind of) but that's often it, the mazzy stays. Literally cringing at myself now.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?
Taking dry washing to the next level, be it ironing or just putting away. You will find me at the end of the week carrying a 3 foot tall pile of clothes up the stairs from the kitchen - 2 or 3 times.

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready until the last minute or not?
Nope never. I don't do quick turnarounds. My minimum get ready time is an hour for a full basic shower, hair, make up and outfit routine. If I'm 'going out' out, then I give myself a good 3 hours because I hate to rush, rushing just invites wonky eyeliner and bumpy hair.

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
I'd like to say yes but I clearly can't seeing as No Spend March was broken midway by the sporadic purchase of a hat. Or 4.

9. How organised is your makeup and nail collection?
My make up is all in a metal box, except for my larger palette collection that sits on top of it. However, I am yet to find something to hold my extensive nail polish collection so it's sorted by colours into 6 Glossybox's. Still quite organised I suppose really!

10. What is the longest amount of time you have gone without writing a blog post?
2 weeks. It was when Tara was away and I think it was Christmas time. I was worn out and without inspiration and I just let it slide. Sometimes it does you good though, don't be afraid to take a break!

And that was my Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Post!
