The £5 Blow-dry and Andrew Collinge Meet and Greet at Andrew Collinge Graduates Salon Liverpool!

Wednesday 9 April 2014

Last week a bunch of us North West bloggers; me, Hannah, Laura, Helena and Samantha, got together in Liverpool for an amazing night of pampering at Andrew Collinge Graduates Salon, plus a squee-worthy meet and greet with Andrew Collinge, on my fave haunt Bold Street! We were all really excited to meet the man himself and couldn't wait to get in there!

The Graduates salon is home to a young, passionate and talented team offering various levels of stylist from Trainee to Hairdressing Manager, with the Training Salon on the first floor offering an excellent standard of hairdressing at amazing prices, performed under experienced supervision by Andrew Collinge trained tutors. The salon is a former bank, so it's a really cool building, with uber high ceilings making it feel really airy and easy going.

We were so excited to meet Andrew Collinge! He's definitely one of my fave celebrity hairdressers, my mum used to go to the Liverpool salon and she always left it feeling a million dollars so I've kind of always associated his name with glamour and style. Throughout the evening, Andrew was chatting away to us, telling us about the salon history and it's values, their social media aims and ideas. It was so cool to hear him so passionate and involved in the whole process, and he was such a genuine sweetheart! He talked to each one of us personally, looking at our hair and giving advice and I think we were all in awe, so when he started actually helping to style Hannah's hair by popping in rollers and showing us how to tell when they're set, then backcombing and teasing it we were all like, eeeeeek, totally starstruck!

I think I had my mouth open the whole time I was taking snaps of them. How lucky are we seriously?! Bloggers get ALL the fun I know ;)

The salon prices are perfect for a major student city like Liverpool with a cut and finish starting at just £25, but did you know you can get a blow-dry from a 1st Year Apprentice for just £5?! I mean seriously, FIVE ENGLISH POUNDS?!! You can barely get lunch for a fiver, but here you can get a happy hair day full of confidence, so why not pop out at lunchtime and walk back into the office/shop/lecture hall like you're walking onto a yacht? ;) I swear, if I lived or worked in the city centre I would never wash my own hair again!

My styling team for the evening was the lovely Tasha and Megan, both sporting styles from the salon braid bar, how cute?! It would definitely be worth popping in for a pre-festival braid style up this summer!

Tasha gave my long hair a much needed trim and shaped my fringe into something less Dulux dog like before Megan set to coaxing my locks into a loose curly blow-dry for volume and a bit of glam. Both girls were amazing, so confident in their talent and I felt totally relaxed in the chair!

I just loved the end result; super shiny, soft and bouncy curls. This style lasted for 3 days, and I usually wash my hair every single day, but it just wouldn't quit! A light brush through and a quick fringe blow and I was ready to go for the rest of the week, impressive!

To top it off, we were all gifted a really generous TIGI goodybag to take home full of yummy products to help us maintain our fabulous looks!

At the end of the night we all sent the salon Twitter account @ACGraduateshair our selfies. I'm not the best selfie taker in the world, so have to laugh at how deliriously happy I look with myself on this! It's like 'Because I'm worth it' and 'Like you've just stepped out of a salonnnnnn!' all rolled into one face.

Huge thanks to Andrew, Tasha and Megan, and everyone in the salon team for making it one of the best blogger nights I've been to in a long time. I really do recommend Andrew Collinge Graduates Salon to anyone, they're housing some major skills at minor prices!
