Rawrgirls Recommend . . . Dr Perricone No Foundation Foundation!

Monday 5 November 2012

I've never tried any of Dr Perricone's products before but I've always seen rave reviews. My skin is a wierd mish mash - I have a dry T Zone, oily cheeks, and I still suffer from spots and blackheads even now in my early 30's - ugh. For this reason I'm always interested in so called miracle products, and Dr Perricone No Foundation Foundation is way up there in terms of godliness, for me.

At around £47 for 30ml this isn't cheap at all, but I was lucky enough to be brought up on a diet of premium beauty ish by a mum who lived in John Lewis, and a belief that if it works, then it's worth it. This is basically a lightweight, sheer foundation that provides natural coverage, corrects undertones, and claims to smooth lines, boost moisture and pump antioxidants into the skin. Wierdly, it's only available in one colour, but luckily it's my colour! I'd say it's a mid 'beige' colour with a yellow undertone, but you'd have to see it for yourself really. For this reason it gets it's fair share of negative reviews, but mine is definitely one of the more positive ones.

One press of the pump delivers enough for one application, so it's well measured and there's no waste. I apply this on top of moisturiser and then go and brush my teeth or feed the cat because I've found that if you give it 5 mins to settle on your skin, you can come back to the mirror and discover a whole new face! If I'm feeling skin confident after the reveal I will then just pop a touch of concealer over blemishes and a bit of blusher. If I'm having a bad skin day then I will apply a smidge of heavier, cheaper foundation (just Rimmel Wake Me Up usually) in places. But overall, the glow that this product gives my skin is amazing, and it lasts all day. I used to ugh at myself at work in the office toilets at about 3pm, but I look as fresh as 11am since I've been using this.

So yes, making an appointment with Dr P is expensive, but for me, he's a lifesaver :)
