Rawrgirls Review - Inkwear Temporary Tattoos!

Tuesday 5 June 2012

Okay, I know what you're thinking, temporary tattoos - really girls?! But hold your horsies here, these aren't no free with candy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle jobs, these are pretty awesome - so awesome in fact that they may have inspired me to look into getting the real deal!

Inkwear Celebrity & Custom Temporary Tattoos started in 2010 and hail from the East End of London. They use cutting edge materials and technology to make sure their temp tats are the most durable and realistic you can get (which we totally agree with!) and the designs are amazing.

Being a leopard print freak and crazy old cat lady, I chose the Cat Medium, £1.49 and Leopard Print 1, £2.49 for my first try.

Application couldn't be easier. You just cut around the design, peel off the backing, press to your skin and hold a wet cloth over it for 20 secs, after which the backing paper slides off and you're good to go! Depending on where you are wearing it, an Inkwear Temporary Tattoo can last between 1 - 5 days, good stuff!

I adore the Cat, it's really well designed and doesn't look like a child's cartoon as have most of the cat based temp tats I've seen before. It's quite big so I thought my shoulderblade would be a good place for it, it looked really cute! I didn't think my placement through very well though, the 2nd day of bra wearing saw my strap start to rub on the design, tut, silly me! I do think it would've lasted a good 3 days though had I positioned it more intelligently though!

The Leopard Print 1 was definitely my fave of the 2, it's similar to something I have always thought would be my tattoo if I had the minerals to get one!

I placed it on my ankle peeping out of my boot and kind of fell in love with it! You can get really creative with this one, cutting and snipping the spots in any pattern you want, but as an amateur temp tattoo chick I just took it as it was. How awesome is this? It's not garish or tacky at all, I love how you can still see my skin through the gaps between the spots because it looks so natural. This one is still going 3 days after application despite sock wearing, though obvs it's playing havoc with my leg shaving routine so I think I'll have to wash it off tonight - booooo! I'm going to miss it!

I just have to show you some other fave designs...

Infinity, £1.99 for 2 sizes - Make like Emily in Revenge and pop one of these on your wrist!

Carpe Diem, £1.99 - One of my fave quotes in movie history is 'Carpe diem you looked hot in it' spoken by Cher in Clueless, so I would like to seize the day (or 5) with this on my inner arm ;)

Inkwear also have some really amazing FaceWear temporary tattoos, which are totally perfect for festivalwear. I picked this one up, Lively Leopard 1, £4.99, but I haven't had the chance to try it yet because I don't want to waste it - it looks SO pretty, I can finally be Cheetara from Thundercats!

HOW FIERCE?! There are loads of other FaceWear designs, from tigers to peacocks, I can definitely see our girl Ke$ha in one with a SpiritHood!

Overall - Inkwear Temporary Tattoos are fine holiday fun, 2 big thumbs up from us! Tons of choice, not at all tacky looking, easy to use and durable! We also love their slogan... 'Temporary tattoos, because fashion isn't permanent...' - PREACH ;)

J - Inked, sort of.

  5. Thanks so much for linking to this! Recently I've had what I call "the tattoo itch". It's very unlikely that I'll ever get one as I'm always changing my mind about things - so the temporary variety will come to my rescue for the time being! Really like the Infinity and Carpe Diem ones you've picked out x x
