Rawrgirls Review the FitFlop Floretta & Frou! Yey, that rhymes!

Friday 8 July 2011

The lovely peeps at Cloggs.co.uk recently offered us each a pair of FitFlops to try out (we think they overheard us tweeting about new fitness regimes!) and not being types to turn down a new pair of shoes, especially ones that promise to tone your behind, we graciously accepted. So when the boxes arrived in RAWRville we totally expected a pair of fitness ready trainer type shoes right? WRONG! We each pulled out a summer ready pair of yummy sandal types in suede and leather - you'd never know they held magical buns of steel qualities - but they doooooo.....

J got her paws on the FitFlop FROU in Pebble, £74.99 from Cloggs.co.uk, a soft stone coloured suede thong wedge sandal with an extravaganza of cute ruffles to the upper, which cleverly draws the eye away from the amazing 'microwobbleboard' sole which is what does all the work for you!

J - I wore them on and off for about 3 weeks to make sure they weren't all style over substance. The wedge wobbleboard sole feels springy to walk in which takes a bit of getting used to, but they are VERY comfortable once you get into your stride. So did my booty get a workout? Well, yes! After a few days I could feel my calves tightening, after a week the backs of my thighs were noticeably more toned to the touch, and after the 3 weeks my lower butt is definitely firmer. Bear in mind that I haven't been doing any other exercise during this 'experiment' (so as not to sway the results of course!) so wearing these shoes must be the sole cause of the changes.

And style wise they look the part, I styled them with my fave Evil Twin leo cape top and a pair of bootcut Charley 5.0 jegs which really highlighted the ruffles which peeped out from underneath the hem, and a Regal Rose feather ear cuff and earring to bouce off the neutral tones. They'd look great with full on flares too, or shorts once your thighs are looking amazing! ;)

T was given the FitFlop FLORETTA in Antique White, £69.00 from Cloggs.co.uk, a white strappy leather sandal with a buckled backstrap for comfort. The multi-layered leather flowers gives the sandal real style, proving that FitFlops are perfect for fashionistas! These also have the magic leg-toning Microwobbleboard is also built-in.

T- When I first heard about FitFlops I was a bit dubious, how can a pair of Flip Flops work you out!? Time to investigate. First off, I was totally impressed by their cuteness. They don't look like boring gym shoes, they're actually quite fashionable! I slipped them on & was slightly taken aback by the 'bounciness'. It wasn't long before I got my 'catwalk walk' back & I was strutting my stuff in the most comfortable shoes I'd ever worn. After a few days wear, my legs & bum started to really ache (in a good way) so I knew they were working! 3 weeks on & the results are definitely noticeable, my upper legs are looking more toned & hotpant ready!

Here you can see that I've styled them my favourite super skinny Charley 5.0 jegs, my Topshop leather jacket & an All Saints vest! Unfortunately we haven't seen the sun for days in Bristol, so I opted for this classic 'window shot' ;) Hopefully the sun will come out soon so I can show off my newly toned legs, but regardless, they're definitely coming on holiday with me!

The RAWR verdict

Overall - fine holiday fun, if you're thinking of investing in a pair of toning shoes but were put off by the traditional trainer styles, these are for you - they work and they look great, if you get them now you'd get A LOT of wear out of them this summer!
