Review - Phil Smith Big It Up Shampoo & Conditioner!

We were lucky enough to win a STACKLOAD of Phil Smith haircare products from Glamour magazine so we thought we'd do a series of reviews on them as and when we use them!

Phil Smith has more than twenty years in the industry and is one of the most trusted, skillful and inspirational names in the business, his products have won multiple awards which is exciting when you get 12 of them in the mail! So naturally as I'm a big hair lover always in search of volume, first up is the Phil Smith Big It Up Shampoo and Big It Up Conditioner (£3.99 each for 250ml), from the Be Gorgeous range.

The shampoo contains wheat proteins to build body. It smells like salon shampoo, which is a good start! You don't need a lot to lather up, and my hair actually felt thicker as I was massaging it in. It rinsed out easily and my wet hair felt nice and clean. I hate it when shampoos make wet hair feel greasy and you feel like you want to give it another go, but this gave it a lovely clean feeling so I was happy to move onto conditioning, yey!

Again, it had a great scent. I squeezed out a good blob because I have long thick hair and it gave a good coverage over the length, massaging it into the hair was easy and again it felt like the hair was actively thickening as I did it! I left it on for about 2 mins then rinsed it off easily. Again, the hair didn't feel greasy at all, which is a common conditioner problem for me, but just felt clean, soft and thick - result!

Once dried and styled, my hair felt voluminous without even applying one of my many new Phil Smith styling products (thought we'd review each product individually so I dried my hair without a styling product this time). It was easy to blowdry, soft and bouncy and I was very pleased with the result.

These products are so affordable and I was VERY pleased with them, I very rarely stray from my favourite hair products but I can't wait to try more of the Phil Smith range.
