HarSPA Review: Bristol Harbour Hotel

 A few weeks ago I was invited to a Bristol bloggers event at HarSpa, Bristol Harbour Hotel. HarSpa is the hotel's new luxury spa, located in the basement. As the hotel is formed from two iconic bank properties, the spa area was actually built within the (once) bank vaults, so it still has some original features. Very cool.

I was really impressed by the interior design which is urban but still has a luxurious feel to it. It's not a big spa, it's quite intimate but they restrict numbers so it doesn't become crowded. I actually had a wander around during construction and after seeing it completed, I can say their use of space is fantastic. It has both an indoor and hydrotherapy pool, a sauna and a steam room. 

Upon arrival, we were greeted with fizz and canapés, before having a complimentary express treatment... I had an arm massage which was lovely! I'd now really like to go back and get a full ESPA back massage. New own branded HarSpa products will soon be introduced to the spa which is pretty exciting, and something the staff feel really passionate about. At the moment they are using ESPA aromatherapy skincare and oils. Everyone raves about ESPA and I'm a big fan, I have sensitive skin but these natural and luxury products don't cause me any irritation. If you're in Bristol and are considering booking a spa day or even becoming a member, it's somewhere I would thoroughly recommend. The staff were very friendly and professional - I often find that sometimes the staff in luxury hotels can be a bit pretentious, but there's none of that here. Everyone is welcoming and knowledgeable.

I was invited to return in December to have a proper spa day but I've just been so busy, I haven't had a chance. SOB. I don't know about you guys but I think I've been more social in December than the whole of January - November. Wah! I forgot to mention it earlier, but they even have their own gym within the spa. Again, it's quite small but it just looks so much nicer than the local chain gyms and the spa + gym membership is pretty affordable, all things considered.
