Another Zara Smock Dress

Friday 14 July 2017

A few days ago I saw a tweet from a fellow blogger that made me chuckle - "Remember when outfit of the day posts were outfits people actually wore that day." Ah yes, the glory days. Today's post features an outfit I actually wore to work yesterday. It might look familiar because my last style post features the red version but it makes me happy, so YOLO.

On that note, I'm feeling inspired again so huge thanks to everyone who commented on my previous post about why I took a blogging break! I wanted embrace the old school blogging vibes so we shot this in my favourite street style location, by my trusty train. Bristol harbour was bustling with tourists and two mature women were in fits of giggles watching me pose. UM, WHATEVER ladies, your laughter only feeds my fabulousness.

Dress: Zara - Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs - Necklace: Eclectic Eccentricity

Some sneakers and an oversized comfortable dress = one of my favourite looks right now. I kept my work outfit real simple by accessorising my Zara dress with a Henry London Moon Phase watch and a necklace from Eclectic Eccentricity, which I've had for years... I'm not really one to part with jewellery, especially with a piece as cute as this.

In life news, our trip to Western Canada is BOOKED. Word of advice, secure your accommodation early if you visit the Canadian Rockies. 2 months in advance is not enough haha! We genuinely can't wait and I'm really looking forward to planning the day trips.

Alright, so because I decided I'm going to write about whatever I want, I'm going to use the rest of this post as an excuse to share a couple of articles I've been loving recently:

  1. First up, the awesome Amy Evans. We met at a blog event a few years back and discovered we had all the things in common. Her recent post about her relationship with blogging is very honest and hella relatable.
  2. Next up, a girl crush of mine, Little Black Boots. Her blog looks like a magazine due to her incredible pictures, great styling and babein' attitude. Swoon over here.
  3. One of my favourite local bloggers and all-round awesome chick, I wish I could wink, recently shared a round-up of podcasts perfect for your daily commute. If you love podcasts as much as me, you'll wanna check out Faye's list.
  4. Last but not least, my mermaid twin Little Magpie shared an epic swimwear lookbook earlier this month. I adore everything Amy does and although she is an absolute uber babe, I really respect her for embracing her own insecurities and sharing these snaps. I now need an excuse for a new cossie... Who wants to send me to Miami?
