Happy Monday! This past weekend was been full of fun, cocktails and Pokémon GO. Summer has finally arrived and as last week was pretty hot, we spent the weekend soaking up the sun and hanging out. As well as finally getting to wear all my new summer threads, I've also been trying out some new summer makeup.
In the run up to my wedding in May, I invested heavily in new skincare and makeup. On my big day, my wedding makeup artist used Bobbi Brown foundation... which I fell in love with. Before then, I'd never tried anything from Bobbi Brown, although I'd heard great things about their Shimmer Brick! Since getting hitched, I've been keen to try some more of their products, in particular, their foundation.

I always wear BB creams but I wanted to try something new so opted for the Bobbi Brown long-wear even finish foundation which contains SPF 15 and provides incredible coverage. I have the 'Alabaster' shade which is one of the fairest shades and I'd say the consistency is just right for combination skin, like mine. It has a strong scent which is strangely addictive... I'm used to odourless foundations but for some reason I like this weird smell! I would definitely recommend this foundation if you're on the lookout for something new. I'm no foundation expert, but it certainly is long-lasting.
I tend to wear tinted lip balm on a daily basis but for special occasions, I'll wear lipstick. I'm a huge fan of Smashbox and Tarte, but I've recently noticed a lot of good reviews about Clinique's Colour Pop lipsticks. After reading Miss Makeup Magpie's blog review, I decided to try the 'Beige Pop' for myself. The shade may be labelled as beige but it's actually more of a light pink. I completely agree with Gemma on this one, the lipstick is buttery soft and goes on really easily. I have quite dry lips but it also provides a good amount of moisture so my lips don't dry out when I'm wearing it. Unlike most MAC lipsticks.
I'm now considering ordering a Bobbi Brown shimmer brick and trying some new Colour Pop shades. Part of me is even thinking about switching lippy teams from Smashbox to Clinique!
