Bath and Unwind: Joico Moisture Recovery Haircare Review

Sunday 20 December 2015

I'm trying to grow my hair for my upcoming wedding, I know it's already quite long but I want it even longer so I can have huge bouncy waves on my big day. I've already started to make little changes, I blow dry it less and straighten it less, and I've also started to switch up my hair care products.

A few months back I was sent some Joico shampoo and conditioner from online faves, Bath & Unwind. I've read lots of reviews about Joico, so had high hopes this could be the new shampoo/conditioner for me!

So what makes Joico so special?

Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo

Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo & Conditioner: Bath & Unwind

They've been around since the mid-seventies when a Californian hairstylist wanted more from the products he was using. He began to start search for a product that concentrated on 'healthy hair' which led to Joico being born.

The brand is all about the scientific approach, they develop innovative hair products for healthy hair, and design artistic imagery that inspire creativity. They have a huge range of different products, each designed to obtain a particular result. The Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner was the first set I'd tried, but it claimed to do exactly what I needed it to do... Inject moisture into my dry hair, without stripping away any natural hydration.

Why is it different?
It contains Biodiverse Hydramine Sea Complex TM (botanicals and amino acids from the sea), prevents dehydration caused by heat styling and produces a rich lather which gently removes product residue.

How do I use it?
I use a dollop of the shampoo, lather it into my wet hair and then rinse. If my hair is really dirty, I'll do this twice. I then use a much smaller amount of conditioner, which I leave in for a few minutes before rinsing.

Would I re-purchase it?
Yes, in a heart beat. I wanted to get through the entire shampoo before I wrote this write up (which I did) so I could give it a proper review. It's magical. It smells great, feels gentle and does exactly what it promises to do... It's also affordable! Bonus. The conditioner goes a long way, so I still have over a third left in the bottle.

My favourite shampoo/conditioner set before using Joico, was Wella SP Hydrate. It's more expensive and comes in smaller bottles so I'm glad I've found a cheaper option.

Bath & Unwind always have offers on Joico, right now you can get 3 for 2 across all products! I know lots of bloggers rant about Redken Extreme Shampoo but in my experience, this is much better. I definitely wouldn't re-purchase the Redken range again but this is already on my shopping list.

Have you tried Joico before? What's your favourite haircare?

This post was in collaboration with Bath & Unwind but all opinions are my own. Make sure you check out the full Joico Range, prices start from just £2.95.
