Cosmopolitan - the debut signature scent

Thursday 1 October 2015

I've been a Cosmo girl since I was about 16. It was, and still very much is, the go-to guide for young women forging careers, developing their individual style and finding their place in the world. Their message has always been about believing in yourself and living the life you want; fun and fearless. That famous spirit has now been bottled in fragrance form with Cosmopolitan's self titled debut signature scent!

Cosmopolitan the fragrance perfume scent review

I was lucky enough to receive a bottle for review, and true to form I had a good spray as soon as Mr Postie handed it over. My nose immediately recognised it as right up my street, so I knew this review wasn't going to be difficult to produce! The blurb describes the notes as if they're all Cosmo girl ingredients but to be honest, they're not far off.

Top notes of pineapple, bergamot, cardamom (GBBO-esque there), mandarin and red berries nod to our sparkling zest for life. Mid notes of saffron, heliotrope and night-blooming jasmine represent our sweet, seductive side, while pimento berries and carrot seed give it a rich shot of spice and something earthy and unexpected. Finally, the base notes look to tonka, patchouli, musk, sandalwood, vanilla and caramel (salivating yet?!) for an addictive and lingering impression. Sounds like you? Yep, me too ;) I actually do really love it, the base notes remind me of all the spicy, warm male fragrances that I always wish were transferred to their female counterparts!

The bottle is fab, an art-deco inspired pink and orange cut glass design. This is the 100ml and it is comparable to a fine whisky decanter in size and weight, but this only adds to the charm because I've always fancied coming home from work and pouring myself something strong to take the edge off like they do in the glossy US dramas. As an alcohol lightweight though it's probably better for me if I just have a little spritz of this!

'Cosmopolitan's new fragrance shows yet again how our brand reaches young women in exciting and stylish new ways' - Farrah Storr, Editor

Sing it Farrah. I'm actually surprised it's took them so long to come up with a Cosmo scent, but it's so good that I can forgive the delay!

Cosmopolitan The Fragrance is available exclusively at Boots priced at £28 for the 30ml EDP, £38 for the 50ml EDP and £48 for this 100ml EDP, with gift sets coming for Christmas.
