V Festival 2015 at Chelmsford with Sure! #NonStopSummer

Wednesday 26 August 2015

Last weekend I headed to Hylands Park in Chelmsford for V Festival 2015. I absolutely love going to music festivals but I've never been to V Fest before - so I was even more excited. After checking the line up for the weekend, I spotted some of my favourite artists and began planning my festival wardrobe!

Armed with a FitBit to track how much I moved over the weekend, a brand spanking new deodorant from Sure with Motionsense freshness technology and a few of my favourite festival dresses, I made my way to Essex! At first I was a bit daunted by the prospect of catching a train to London, a tube from one train station to another, another train to Chelmsford and a bus from the railway station to the festival... but I didn't need to worry. It was an absolute doddle.

I was expecting the festival site to be absolutely tiny compared to Glastonbury, but it was a lot bigger than I thought and a lot bigger than Wireless festival. Camping is split into three colour coded sites, Red, Yellow and Green (for staff). I can't comment on Red or Yellow but the Green campsite was an absolute dream. We put our tent up in less than 10 minutes and we were ready for the music!

So it ended up being 28 degrees on Saturday, which is absolutely crazy. We spent a little while hiding from the sun in the VIP section which is a nice chilled out area and well worth the upgrade if you're coming to the festival. We watched quite a few artists including James Bay, Tom Jones, Jess Glynne and Hozier! Hozier was definitely my favourite of the bunch, I watched him live at Glastonbury this year but he was on top form. There was also a comedy tent which we passed a few times - we were surprised they had quite a few well known names performing.

I opted to wear dresses and ankle boots because there's nothing worse than wearing wellies in the sunshine! It was absolutely boiling but I can confirm I didn't sweat once thanks to my Sure deodorant. To be honest, I was convinced it was going to be any different from any other antiperspirant but the girls told me it's activated directly by movement so apparently the more you move the more it protects. Big claims for a little spray bottle. Regardless, I gave myself a spritz before I left my tent on Saturday morning and I swear on Robert Pattinson's hair, it actually works. I didn't sweat once. Granted, I'm not a sweaty person, but I do tend to glisten a little in the sunshine - especially when I'm dancing all over the place but nothing. No sticky underarms, nada.

Sure set up little refresh tents across the site where you could use their deodorant, some Dove dry shampoo and hair straighteners etc. to make sure festival goers are looking their best throughout the festival. I don't know who came up with this idea, but I want to give them the biggest high 5. These little tents even had queues they were so darn popular. Michael Eavis - TAKE NOTE.

On Sunday the weather was a little cooler and I wore my favourite festival dress from Sugarhill Boutique. I also saw Missandei from Game of Thrones, AGAIN (she's stalking me). We were dancing next to each other during Maverick Sabre's set like total BFF's. A-hem. At one point I had a flashback to last year's Wireless festival where I was dancing next to my other BFF, Nicholas Hoult...

So I've never used a Fitbit before, but now I'm obsessed with this little bad boy. As you can tell, Saturday was my main walking day! 21k steps and no sweat. Pretty impressive, non? I don't really understand the science but the Sure deodorant has exclusive breakthrough technology called Motionsense which has unique microcapsules that break with friction. This then releases freshness that lasts all day to keep you moving non-stop in the summer.

If I was reading this post, I'd probably be eyerolling but I would never swear on Robert Pattinson's Twilight hair if I didn't mean it. It doesn't have an overpowering scent (I couldn't smell it after I used it) and it only costs a few pounds. Well worth the price of a grande Hot Chocolate with whipped cream from Starbucks.

Thanks to Sure for sending me to V Festival and providing me with my other BFF, a Fitbit. I wish I could relive the whole weekend over again!

Are you going to any festivals this summer?

T - Super fresh!
