OCO Cutler and Gross 1128 Sunglasses

Wednesday 12 August 2015

I'm a huge fan of designer sunglasses, I have a drawer full of various shapes and styles but I'm always looking for something a little more unique! Although I like to try sunglasses on in store, I always buy them online because they tend to be more affordable and you can discover brands you never knew existed.

I was recently sent a pair of Cutler and Gross 1128 Sunglasses to review from OCO - an awesome online website which stocks luxury eyewear. I'd never heard of OCO until recently but they have an extremely wide selection of top brands including Gucci, Tom Ford, Dior and Prada. I am a fan of these designers but I was drawn to the more unusual brands I'd never heard of before such as Oliver Goldsmith, Dita, Thom Browne and of course, Cutler and Gross!

Delivery was quick and my shades came in a sturdy and stylish protective case. Sam actually picked this style for me, we both loved the tortoiseshell frames and blue mirrored lenses. I've never owned a pair of sunglasses this luxurious. They came with a high quality booklet about the history of the brand and its founders Tony Gross and Graham Cutler - which I thought was a lovely touch. It's a shame more brands don't do this.

Cutler and Gross are based in Knightsbridge and each pair of frames is entirely handmade and follows more than 30 processes - these same processes have been in place since 1969. For the first 13 years production was in London but it moved to Italy in 1982 where the factory is still located today. It seems the most beautiful products I own have all been handmade in Italy.

I absolutely adore this quote from Graham Cutler, "The Cutler and Gross Customer has always been an individual; eccentric maybe, but a rare breed certainly." - that's me!

If you're looking for something a little different, I certainly recommend visiting OCO glasses. I've genuinely never come across such a beautifully curated eyewear store. I don't wear glasses but I've noticed they have a wide selection of these too.

Do you like designer sunglasses? Are you a fan of handmade goods?
