Launching in 2007, MIF is the world's first festival of original, new work and special events and takes place every two years in Manchester. This year's festival featured FKA Twigs, Damon Albarn and Bjork, amongst a ton of vibrant and innovative acts and guests.
What I saw . . . Parts of the city that as a shopping or concert visitor I had never experienced before. The beautiful library and churches that I would never have visited otherwise, bronze statues I might normally walk past without a glance and backstreet walkways that looked like Diagon Alley! Crazy tombs that are just right next to modern pubs and shops, underground war bunkers that to be honest, I thought we were never going to come out of alive (!), and the gorgeous space of the Royal Exchange Theatre.

What I wore . . . Boohoo kitted me out so I'd look like a local (though the incessant camera phoning and scouse lilt might've gave me away ahem). I chose the fab Mia Mid Rise Boyfriend Jeans which I love and are now only £10 in the sale, they look pretty cool and the rip placements are perf! I also chose the Cerys Crochet Trim Open Shoulder Top, also now in the sale for £14, frosting with the Cecilia Floral Festival Crochet Cardigan £12, to keep the chill off my shoulders and a trusty Mi Moneda pendant to bring out the blues in the top.
It was a really nice day and we had a giggle acting like tourists! The festival has finished now but it did open my eyes to the amazing places that are on my doorstep if I step out of my comfort zone. Huge thanks to Boohoo.com for the opp and the look!

You look so pretty! It sounds like you had a lovely day out. I'm originally from Northwich so I used to visit Manchester quite often, but I haven't ever explored properly outside of the main shopping area and the big museums! xxx
ReplyDeleteThose boots are so awesome! I love the fringe detailing! This sounds like such a fun afternoon!
