I chose two pieces from M&S and using the guide as inspiration, styled them up into a casual but confident outfit that embraces a touch of modern seventies. . .
Outfit: Shorts - c/o M&S, Shirt - c/o M&S, Shoes - Warehouse, Bag - Timberland, Necklace - Mi Moneda, Vest (just seen) - Next, Belt - Warehouse, Watch - Daniel Wellington.
Broderie anglaise cotton is a great way to bring a little seventies vibe into any outfit and as soon as I saw this Indigo Collection Cotton Cutwork Shirt (£32.50) I knew it would be perfect with both my existing denim wardrobe and these shorts. It's SO pretty, and has a little stretch to it, though I do wish I'd sized up so I could wear it a touch more loose and relaxed like the model on the listing (this is a 12). I can't fault it though, and it definitely gives a denim look a bit of a free spirit vibe.
Boyfriend jeans have evolved into boyfriend shorts this year, and they look just as cool. The Indigo collection Boyfriend Shorts (£25) are a dream and I adore everything about them, from the flattering cut to the easy lived in wash and gentle distressing (which makes them look much more expensive than they actually are!). I've turned them up for this look but they look just as cute full length. They run true to size (these are a 12) and we're looking forward to a very happy summer together!
I continued the seventies denimista edge with brown leather and suede accessories, including these perf fringed boots from Warehouse. I think they're now besties with these shorts to be honest ;)
If you haven't nipped into M&S for a while then I definitely recommend you do so stat, but check out the M&S Summer 2015 Trend Guide first for ideas and inspiration, it's a lot easier to put an outfit together when you can see them alongside complimentary pieces, genius!
J - True blue baby I love you.
Absolutely adore this look! Tan, fringes and great denim - a nice playful take on the seventies! X

The denim pieces look fab, and I love your shirt! I actually shop at M&S a lot and love how they've focused more on younger styles over the past year and definitely feel the quality and fabrics last a lifetime <3
