Hummel Women's Marathona Evo Review! #MyMarathonas

Tuesday 3 March 2015

This past week has been pretty tough for me. I haven't really felt like taking outfit photos or getting dolled up for work. Coping with the loss of a loved one is never easy but it's at times like these we learn who our true friends are, those special people who try their best to put a smile on our faces when we're feeling low. Kind and thoughtful gestures have meant everything to me this past week. I've spent a lot of time eating cake, chocolate and watching Netflix in my jammies. Jade sent flowers and Lego which brightened up the beginning of my week and other friends have shared funny stories and given me lots of squishy hugs. I can count on one hand the people who have really made the effort to check in on me this week but I won't forget their kindness.

With that being said, all week I've been dressing comfortably. When at home I've been walking around in My Little Pony PJ's and Spirit Hoods, and at work I've been wearing jeans and ankle boots (with a few dresses thrown in towards the end of the week). I was recently sent a pair of hummel Marathona Evo's in majolic blue to style. I don't know why it's taken me so many years to re-discover trainers because these are the comfiest sneakers ever. They have a cool 80's vibe and I love how they look with my cropped jeans!

These are my first pair of hummel shoes, my boyfriend already owns a pair but now I want more in different colours! The sole gives the illusion of a smaller shoe, these are actually size 6 and I'd say they run pretty true to size. I wore this outfit during a harbourside walk on Sunday. I was sent this beautiful new Mi Moneda Sabroso coin before Christmas, I can't find it on any UK websites but it can be found online from a few Irish retailers.

My awesome Keira Car Coat from Oasis was a sale bargain I snapped up a few weeks ago! I'm really glad I bought it because the last words my grandad ever said to me were, "I really like your coat!". He was always such a dapper guy with great style and a fondness for hats. I remember smiling, thanking him and telling him I'd see him again soon. Tomorrow, my family and I will say goodbye to him. Without getting too philosophical, I do believe I'll see him again. Just not for a little while.

Thank you to my blogger friends who have picked up on my sadness and have tweeted/commented with sweet words. Another special thank you to the friend who's going to come to the funeral with me, just to hold my hand. On her birthday. I'm lucky to have some wonderful people in my life.

  4. Aw I'm so sorry to hear about your loss! I hope you're feeling okay and it's always a difficult time :( It's times like these where you feel completely lost for words but sending my love your way and you should definitely take a short brake from everything to come to terms with it. I just love this outfit and the way you've mixed the blues against the blacks, it looks so pretty and really pops! I've never heard of this trainer brand before tbh but I do wear trainers most days so will be checking these out for sure! They look very comfy and I like the mesh design x

  15. I'm so sorry for your loss. :( I lost my dad 11 years ago. It might sound corny and silly but I still feel him everywhere I go. I like to think he's surfing the wind and exploring the stars and popping in to see me and my sister and his new grand daughter. And one day, when it's time, we'll be together again. So it's not goodbye, it's just 'see you soon'. xxx
