These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things . . . Beauty Haul Review!

Wednesday 9 October 2013

I have accumulated a few new beauty faves over the last month or so, so I thought I'd do a rare RAWR beauty show and tell!

1. Busy Bee Candles Lavender Mint Room & Linen Freshener - £5.95. I've been a BBC wax tart fan for years, but they've blown my mind with the new range of bath, body and home products. The Lavender Mint scent is so delicious, I just can't stop spraying it. Basically, if you stand still for 30 seconds in Rawr Towers North Wing you are going to get sprayed. Consider yourselves warned ;)

2. Soap & Glory Scrubatomic - £9. A daily facial scrub, and it smells of peaches. I usually find scrubs tedious and ineffective so I get halfway through a new one and give up, but I'm hooked on this bad boy and using it everyday. Along with The Fab Pore, it seems to be sorting my skin out in no time - the dream team!

3. Soap & Glory The Fab Pore - £10. WOW. I can't get enough of this breakout battler! I've been using it two or three times a week for about a fortnight now and it's made a hell of a difference to my misbehaving skin; shrinking my pores and reducing my horrendous blackheads! Judging by the reviews, people don't seem to be keen on the smell but I actually like it. It reminds me of a Lush facial soap I used to buy, and looks like mint choc ice cream, so it's all good in the hood over here!

4. Mavala Mava-Flex Serum For Nails - around £14.95. I've absolutely thrashed my hands lately with a ton of DIY, so I turned to the Mavala experts in desperation last week because I just couldn't sort out my peeling nails and dry cuticles. Two applications of this dreamy, super soft moisturising serum and my paws are showing definite signs of improvement. A lifesaver, and highly recommended.

5. Avon Eyeshadow Brush With Smudger - Free with Purchase. Okay, so I can't find this online anymore because it came free when I bought the mascara, but if it comes back into stock I highly recommend buying one if it's a good price. It's working the creases of my eyelids perfectly and totally replaced my old eyeshadow brush. Yey for free stuff.

6. Artdeco Eyeshadow Base - around £8. I stumbled across this in Debenhams on one of their discount events, where I was able to pick it up for less than a fiver so I didn't particularly care if it was good or not, but luckily, it's the shizznit - hurrah! It's a nice alternative to my usual UD Primer Potion and holds my trickiest slippery shimmery peach shadow for a full working day when it would usually be forming a very precise line in the crease of my lid by 2pm. Fine holiday fun.

7. Avon Mega Effects Mascara - £10. Call it gimmicky if you like, but the Wonderbrush really does do the trick, and the actual mazzy is one of the best I've used for years, taking my lashes to luscious lengths. Totally worth a try.

Have you guys picked up anything to recommend this month? Please spill!

J - Onto the next one.

  1. I still haven't tried the Avon mascara, just because it looks a bit weird, but I've actually heard good things about it, so I might have to add it to to the shopping list :o). Nice favourites! Xx
