AW13 Shoe Challenge with Designers at Debenhams!

We were recently asked to take part in an exciting footwear challenge in partnership with Designers at Debenhams. Jade & I were given *the same pair* of autumn/winter shoes and asked to style them in 2 different ways. Jade was to create a smart/evening outfit and I had to style them for a casual, day look.

Jacket: Oasis - Leggings: French Connection: Vest: Wildfox - Boots: c/o Debenhams

It's beginning to feel like Autumn so I decided to put my awesome Betty Jackson.Black boots with some wet look leggings, a black Wildfox vest and this cute jacket I picked up in the Debenhams sale. After we both decided on these delicious long boots, I headed to Pinterest to get some style inspiration. I loved that lots of bloggers were pairing their leather boots with even more black! I'm still dreaming of the Balenciaga leather skinnies but until I win the lottery, I think these high street leggings work pretty well.

I opted for the size 6 (I'm usually a 6.5) and they fit really well. I have surprisingly large ankles but the stretch back panel provides that extra bit of leg room which is really nifty. I can't wait to wear them with thick tights and skirts/dresses!

Now on to Jade's outfit:

I took on the task of showcasing the boots in an evening look. So I toyed with the idea of leather shorts and a cute top but in the end decided to go full on rock princess in my fave party dress, studded biker and matching box bag, with a cute hat for a bit of quirk! This is the type of outfit I might wear for a night out with the girls, an evening blogger event or a house party. I would usually wear chunky heeled boots but after putting these bad boys with this look I am totally converted to wearing flats for a big night out!

I'm so in love with these over the knee boots, they fit perfectly and are so flattering! The leather is super soft so they're really easy to move in. I also feel like you can get away with a super short skirt like this, or little shorts, because the boots are flat so you feel more grounded and in control of your posture and stance!

This was such a fun challenge! We really enjoyed styling the same piece in different ways, we think it's interesting to show our unique styles and we hope you do too.
