Made In Britain With Missi Clothing!

Thursday 6 June 2013

I was recently asked if I wanted to choose a piece from Missi Clothing, a British wholesaler selling fast fashion to independent retailers. Now, I've always assumed that fast fashion comes from overseas because the prices are kept so low even in this country, so I was intrigued to see what us Brits are producing for the market and how it compares!

I chose a pair of monochrome striped high waisted trousers because I thought they were a smart alternative to the usual Beetlejuice style jeans and leggings we have been seeing a lot of. Immediately I could see that the quality is really good and I was totally impressed. The material is nice and thick, the fit is perfect (hands up who despairs about the trend for fast fashion to run small?!) and the style is spot on!

Outfit: Trousers - c/o Missi Clothing, Tshirt - Wildfox Couture, Bag - Paul's Boutique, Shoes - H&M, Watch - Timex, Belt - New Look.

I really love the waistline on these trousers! The extra material on the 'frill' makes them look more high street than fast fashion, hides a multitude of abdominal sins (ahem!) and makes the execution of a bit of fashionable tee tucking a dream, all of which makes all the difference to me! They also came with a nice little skinny black patent belt, but I swapped it out with this peace sign one just to funk things up a little.

The length would easily lend itself to boots, but for this casual look I rolled them up a few times to show off my new awesome flats that I picked up for a fiver from H&M! I love adding a little neon to monochrome. It's very bossy but that's how I am ;)

I'm definitely proud to be repping the Brit stitchers, if like me you want to know more about UK fast fashion then pop over to Missi's Twitter page @missiclothinguk or Instagram account @missiclothinguk to see some more goodies!

  14. This whole outfit is amazing, and it's definitely nice to see a monochrome stripe trouser that's a little more fashiony than the leggings/jeans around at the moment. They look really flattering too :)
