Oh I do love a good bit of DIY! Recently Boohoo sent me a DIY kit and a plain maxi dress so I could create my perfect festival item. Included in the kit was some studs, stick on jewels, glittery fabric paints and tacky glue.
I don't have a particularly steady hand so I immediately ruled out using the glitter paints. The big sticky gems are super cool but because I'm all about layering at festivals, I decided to save them for another project. This just left the studs!
Dress: c/o Boohoo - Tee: Wildfox sample - Fedora: H&M - Bracelet: F21 - Sandals: Primark
I'm off to Glastonbury in a few weeks and although I'm praying for glorious sunshine, I've accepted the fact it might be a bit chilly. As a result, I wanted to stud my dress somewhere it could be seen at all times so decided on the bottom. Thankfully I had just enough studs to make two rows (it took a lot longer than you might think).
I paired my maxi with a feather tee I picked up at a Wildfox sample sale a few years ago and my H&M fedora. I like to think I'm channeling my style icon Vanessa Hudgens who actually has the final version of this tee! She's the queen of festival fashion.
So there you have it, a simple bit of DIY that's Glastonbury ready. I just need to switch my gladiators for wellies and I'm good to go. I hope Vanessa would approve...
Do you dare to DIY?

Looove that tee, such a cool print & perfect for Glastonbury! The studs look great around the bottom too, so simple but makes for a really cool detail. I'd love to see someone do something cool with the puffy paints on one of these, but I think it'd just look super homemade, which I'm never really a fan of!
ReplyDeletePS: You are making me crave a big black hat, but I think I'll just look super cliche goth in one! Haha!
I read this post on my phone, so have come back to comment. But I LOOOOOVE! And you have my favourite style of hat on ;) Love the studs on the bottom xx
