Happy Mother's Day Chic-a's!

Happy Mother's Day! Today was a quick visit to see the mother in law so I thought I'd give my new H&M skirt and ChicLaChic necklace a run out.

Outfit: Coat - The Ragged Priest, Jumper - Boohoo, Skirt - H&M, Tights - ASOS, Boots - Steve Madden, Necklace - c/o ChicLaChic.

I'm a total sucker for black and white striped anything so I snapped this skirt up in H&M last weekend, I think it was just £9.99. It's a stretch cotton with a 2 front zip feature and a dip back hem and they're doing the style in several different patterns and materials. Word of warning, size up, these things run like 2 sizes SMALL!

I picked out this Studded Ball Locket Necklace (£15) from online accessories store ChicLaChic last week, their jewellery and bag lines are all designed in house which makes them totally unique. This is a nice change to seeing the same old styles over several different retailers but all labelled and priced differently, which is a massive pet hate of mine!

I was really taken with most of the statement styles whilst having a browse but I chose this piece because it's a super shiny gold, looked chunky and reminded me of something a medieval princess might wear with a token from her betrothed inside! Either that, or something Sarah Michelle Geller in Cruel Intentions might keep something a little less innocent in ;) Either way, it's awesome! Satisfyingly heavy and solidly made, with a working magnetic closure that reassures me that if I did decide to keep something light inside it, then it would be safe!

I also think it looks very purty with the gold studding on my boots and on the sleeves of my coat, I do enjoy a bit of metal matching ;)
