The plan was to get there really early in order to have a quick shop and meet up with some blogger pals before the show started. Unfortunately I had to rely on public transport and because of the crummy weather/a whole ton of roadworks, I ended up arriving 5 minutes before the show. Cue a quick dash through The Mall with just enough time to check-in and grab a glass of something bubbly before I took my seat and the show started.
The show was hosted by stylist Mark Heyes and celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton who were also the hosts of the AW12 show I went to last September. They work really well together and have such an incredible chemistry. I also love that catwalk models don’t just strut their stuff, they dance! This makes it a much more interesting show to watch.
The first scene was bond-themed and all about one of the hottest trends (if not the most popular), Monochrome. Lots of bloggers in the audience were also sporting this trend and we were treated to a display of striped skirts and tops, dresses and one hunky male model in a Monochrome suit! I must admit that I prefer wearing colour so was more excited by some of the other trends shown such as Florals and Neons!
There was also a really cool after party scene with lots of glitzy dresses but my favourite evening dress was the Lexy Tapework Dress (£295) from Phase Eight. If you want to bring tears of joy to my eyes, buy me this dress. It’s so beautiful and looked incredible on the model who was lucky enough to wear it. If Robert Pattinson ever asks me to accompany him on the red carpet, know I’ll be wearing this.
The show finished with Gangnam Style. That’s right, the models, Mark Heyes and Andrew Barton only went and performed the infamous dance! It was fun and completely unexpected. Overall it was a fantastic show with lots of fashpiration. I now need to raise approximately £550 so I can buy all the pieces I really want. If you fancy donating to the cause, you know how to get in touch. ;)
If you want to witness the catwalk show for yourself, check out this short film below:
When the show had ended we all headed to get our goodie bags which gave me a chance to mingle with some blogger pals and meet some new faces!

It was really lovely to hang out with the gorgeous Lorna from Raindrops of Sapphire again. Lorna is a total sweetheart and has such awesome style. I was literally swooning over her Frankie B galaxy jeans the entire time. I if I could live inside one blogger's wardrobe, it would definitely be Lorna's! I also got meet up with my long lost blogger pal Milly from A Sensible Heart and Bonnie Rose who's a really cool photographer.
Does your city have it's own fashion week? Do you have a favourite trend for SS13?
T - Spring/Summer lovin'! XoX
I love the jacket you're wearing <3 also your hair always looks super slick and perfect - I wish mine did! xxx
ReplyDeleteAw thanks Carly, it's surprisingly warm! You're so crazy, I guess I just don't see it!? I'd rather have your awesome curly hair! I bought some coconut oil from Superdrug today, I opted for the 99p version instead though haha. Will report back ;) xo
DeleteThe Bristol Fashion Week show you attended at the The Mall at Cribb's Causeway looks like it was a wonderful experience. It's fabulous that the catwalk models danced! What a beautiful contrast to have healthy happy models dancing compared to having unhappy looking anorexic models marching. I too love all the florals and neons. In nature all the colour arrives in Spring and that is what I am always eager to see and wear. I like the variety of styes on stage when they performed the Gangham Style dance at the end.
ReplyDeleteI love the beautiful pink colour of your Equipment shirt and the fantastic Frankie B Galaxy Jeans Lorna was wearing!
