Anthropologie - My Thai Style!

Wednesday 27 March 2013

Anthropologie are currently running an exciting blogging competition where you can win a £300 spree by creating a Thailand-inspired look. A few years ago I spent a month travelling around Thailand and as a result I know what to pack for next time!

If I could only take one outfit on my return trip, my key piece would be this beautiful Pakpao Maxi Dress (£128):

It's extremely hot in Thailand but it's not a dry heat, it's really sticky! This polyester dress is perfect for keeping cool while looking super stylish. Another great thing about the Pakpao Maxi Dress is the length, there are lots of mosquitos in Thailand (especially at night) so it's important to keep covered up to avoid any sore bites.

When on holiday I like to keep my accessories quite simple, I decided on the following four items to complete my outfit:

anthropologie accessories

1. Bowed Straw Cloche (£48)
A hat is a must-have for a holiday in Thailand. The sun is really strong so it's important to protect your head and face. Everyone knows that tanning your face is a big no no! I love the woven finish and cute retro bow.

Large enough to fit in a small camera, Thai dictionary and map! This gorgeous embellished clutch would look perfect with my chosen dress and is bright & beautiful enough to fit in with the decadent surroundings.

3. Mika Gladiators (£178)
The heels on these gladiators are the perfect size for walking in and they're suitable for the day or evening. My love of gladiators actually came from my visit to Thailand, they're ideal for the heat!

Not only do these sunnies look extremely chic (I definitely prefer a bit of colour when I'm on holiday), they would protect my peepers from harsh UV rays. The fact that they allow me to people watch is just an added bonus.

Whenever I travel to a new country I like to pick up jewellery and accessories to remind me of my trip. If I were to wear this outfit on my next Thai vacation I'd definitely check out the local markets and buy some bracelets/necklaces to complete my look!

Have you ever been to Thailand before? Do you like this outfit?

  5. I love that dress, it's gorgeous; and flattering on lots of different body shapes. I'm not a big fan of the heat unless there's air con within a 5 minute walk so Thailand isn't for me. But that dress would still look brill in the UK sun (If we ever get any!)

  8. What a fab competition - I went to Thailand a couple of years ago and loved visiting the islands - so chilled out with gorgeous clear blue seas. Wishing I could trade freezing Bristol for tropical Thailand right about now!
