Review - Schwarzkopf Professional Bonacure Repair Rescue Conditioner!

Wednesday 2 May 2012

Last Thursday I spent the entire morning wondering where the smell of candyfloss was coming from... until I was preening in the mirror at work and spied - horror of horrors - BURNT HAIR!! Yep, I had somehow, in my rush to get out of the door probably, been a tad too hardcore with the hairdryer and burnt my poor hair!! A few ends at both sides of my front layers were all bleached and curly and I had to carefully snip them off - ARGH!!

So, when a new conditioner for review dropped through my door on Friday, you could say I saw it as a sign from RPatz (you know how he watches over us), and I started using it that night. It's the Schwarzkopf Professional Bonacure Repair Rescue Conditioner, available from Feel Unique, £8.90.

This is where I admit to not being a massive conditioner user. I probably only work it into a hair wash once or twice a week since my waist length hair was all cut off, a crime I know. Anyhoo, I really like this one. The Schwarzkopf Bonacure range claims that it '...repairs, protects, and strengthens the hair internally without overloading it, making it smooth and pliant for easy combing, and revolutionises hair care with the FIRST Biomimetic hair repair technology. It not only repairs the cells within the hair but also recreates the hair surface Biomimetically; for hair returned to its optimal level of health.'

The packaging is fairly typical of a salon standard product; clean, slick and functional and the scent is pleasant enough without overpowering you with fruit, cake and whatever else Katy Perry is wearing these days. It has a nice consistency to it and applied easily. I leave it on for about 10 mins before rinsing it out, and yes, I have noticed a difference over the past few days. My hair definitely feels smoother, but in a thick, strong way rather than that annoying too glossy to hold a snap clip smooth! As of last night I've stopped applying my usual protein spray before blowdrying, because I don't think I need it right now. A few more washes will tell if I'm right but I feel good about it right now anyway.

Salon quality with a new idea, and worth the slightly higher than I'd usually pay price tag. I imagine it would kick ass on long hair, especially if it's fine or flyaway. Overall, fine holiday fun. And no more baked hair! ;)
