Glossybox!

Sunday 25 September 2011

The Glossybox girls were kind enough to send me September's box so I could see what beauty's latest buzz was, and yes, now I can see what the fuss is about! For those of you who have been under a rock for the past few months, Glossybox is a monthly subscription (£12.95 a month) to receive a luxurious box filled with a surprise mix of 5 high-end beauty samples, with the intention of introducing the recipient to at least one product that they will purchase again.

The box itself is a treat from the postman; packaged securely in a secure cardboard outer which rips open to reveal this giftbox which looks like it could hold luxury lingerie! I am a sucker for a pretty face...

I'd heard the contents of the last few Glossybox's were top notch so I was excited to open mine, and this is what I found...

The contents are:

HD Brows Eye & Brow Palette in Foxy

L’Oreal Professional Mythic Oil 125ml

Plum by Mary Greenwell sample vial

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse 10ml

StriVectin SD Eye Concentrate 7ml

I think like most other recipients I was most excited by the HD Brows palette which is indeed YUMMY! I have black eyebrows and usually just take it super lightly with a pencil but this is a whole new ballgame.

I'd read about the L'Oreal Mythic Oil in Look Magazine, and despite having a giggle over the name, it's actually really nice stuff and I have already recommended it to a few friends.

Plum by Mary Greenwell is an acquired scent for sure, but I quite like the autumn fruits base. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse and StriVectin SD Eye Concentrate are not products I would ever look at in a store, so although they don't make me want to rush out and buy them, I can appreciate that Glossybox has brought my attention to items I probably would never have tried.

I love the fact that Glossybox are getting ready for christmas and introducing a gift subscription, it's such a cool idea because my first thought upon opening the box was that my cousin (a beauty obsessive) and my friend's mum (a lady I have always looked up to as a beauty and style goddess!) would LOVE this!

Overall, I was impressed by Glossybox. At £12.95 delivered a month it's probably a treat for most of us when you consider that you might not want or use a lot of the items you get, but if you spend a lot of money on beauty products anyway I can see how you might want to add this to your life, I'm certainly tempted by a subscription!
