Rawr Girls REVIEW Simply Swim!

Friday 12 August 2011

These days I like to think of myself as a bit of a swimwear connoisseur. As most of you know, I'm planning to spend the next year in nothing but swimwear...Oh, the perks of being a glampacker! ;)

Unfortunately I have very limited space (apparently suitcases are frowned upon in the backpacker community), so I have to be extremely selective with my fashion picks! Luckily I have quite a few bikinis, but recently I realised I was missing a key ingredient, a 'real swimsuit'.

Thank RPattz for Simply Swim!

As my first stop is Australia, I needed a cossie to actually swim in! I love posing on the beach or by a pool in a cute bikini, but Oz is the home to Great Barrier Reef & I required some swimmers with substance.

Initially I was a bit scared (blame the women swimmers at the Olympics), but after browsing the Simply Swim swimsuits department & I discovered that swimsuits CAN be stylish & practical!

Swimwear brand Maru have some gorgeous printed swimsuits, I love this New York suit which is only £29.

I didn't expect there to be so much choice, so I found it quite hard to decide on just one swimsuit! Another really cool brand is Funkita:

This swimsuit (£37) is so colorful and would look so amazing with a tan! If you look closely you'll see it's covered in adorable little characters. ;)

I was also tempted by this Albany Flyback swimsuit (£38) by Zoggs:

I think it's really simple & stylish, I love the white detailing. However, this Rawr Girl dares to be different, so in the end I decided choosing THIS:

Maru, Carnaby Sparkle Tek Back (Black and White Sparkle)- £31.50.

Eeeeeek! I love it. Delivery from Simply Swim was super fast & I was extremely excited when I saw what was inside the packaging...It's SO sparkly!!

The stock pictures really don't do it justice, so here's a close-up of the material:

*OOOOOOOOOH*. I can't wait to wear it & run into the ocean a la Edward from Twilight! ;)

Before ordering I noticed that the reviews said it runs slightly big, so I opted for a size 32 (6-8) instead of an 8 and it's a perfect fit!

Even if you aren't planning to visit the Great Barrier Reef (sorry ha!), these swimsuits are perfect for wearing at the gym or while swimming on holiday. Who said sensible swimwear can't be stylish!?

So if you're in need of some new swimsuits, make sure you check out Simply Swim's full range here. You can also stalk them on Twitter & Facebook for all their latest news.
