Debenhams Liverpool x Kiehl's Hydro Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate #BBloggers Event!

Last week I was invited to check out the new Kiehl's counter in Debenhams Liverpool One (seriously, as if this beauty hall isn't swoonworthy enough?!) for an introduction to Kiehl's newest product, Hydro Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate, and to experience a skin consultation with Gerwyn Powell, Kiehl's Retail Education Manager for UK and Ireland - errrr, yes please?!

Big wave to fellow bloggers Laura, Karen, Vicki, Abigail and Naffy, and Ellie and Michelle, the lovely and super knowledgeable Kiehl's consultants who were on hand to answer all our questions!

Kiehl's skincare

The night started with a little get to know you with the new and fresh counter, with us all grabbing a glass of something sparkling and wandering off to touch some products and familiarise ourselves with the set up.

Kiehl's was originally founded as an old-world apothecary in New York's East Village over 150 years ago, resulting in a unique blend of cosmetic, medicinal, pharmaceutical and herbal knowledge developing over generations into the brand we know today. Gerwyn gave us a bit of Kiehl's history before the product demonstrations, and we were all totally hooked on his enthusiasm for their back story - from the origins of the in-store motorbikes to Kiehl's active involvement in essential AIDS research. I can't even cover it all properly for you because I won't do it justice (I feel like Miss Geist in Clueless here), but if you want to learn more then I definitely recommend hitting up the About Kiehl's page for a bit of extra credit.

Anyhoo, Gerwyn took us through several different products that are all key to the moisture levels in our skin, something I know I don't focus on enough. I'm so wrapped up on getting rid of spots and shrinking my pores that I tend to ignore the important stuff like anti-ageing!

An oil level paper test measures for skin type (mine is surprisingly 'normal' *side eye*) and we were also given a moisture level test which was really interesting. Mine was 33% which is average but still dehydrated. Gerwyn explained that his is around a healthy 49%, and this is achieved not just by eating well and drinking plenty of water, but by the products we use on our skin so it's important to use the right ones for your skin type. Quite simply, natural ageing is one of the main causes of skin dehydration, and it's a battle Kiehl's are intent on helping us fight!

Vicki with Gerwyn taking her through her personal skin consultation, with Dr Bones in the background! :)

Kiehl's skincare

We were shown five of Kiehl's flagship products:

  • Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate - contains 10.5% stable Vitamin C and helps to reduce the lines found around the mouth, chin and crows feet. It has a warming sensation when applied which is nice. I've been using it daily for only 5 days now and (combined with the other new products) my skin does look noticeably brighter - ta daaaa!
  • Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 - oil free, safe for sensitive skin and works perfectly inder make-up. Now I knew that SPF was important but basically, Gerwyn kind of changed my whole way of thinking. I generally just make sure that there is one in my BB or foundation, but now I'll be sure to wear a stand alone SPF too because I learnt that they intensify the productivity that other serums, moisturisers etc have on your skin!
  • Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution - This was one of the products that Gerwyn recommended to me in my personal consultation. I have pigmentation spots from sun damage in my teens (ugh) but apparently this product could turn them around if I catch them early. The formulation is like water, and it's key ingredients get to work for results in 8 weeks. Sign me up for a piece of that!
  • Midnight Recovery Concentrate - A Kiehl's customer favourite! Made up of 99.8% natural ingredients that boost your skin's natural overnight repair process, topped off with a beaut lavender scent to aid sleep. Again, I've only been using it for 5 days but yes, it works. My skin definitely looks and feels noticeably brighter and softer in the morning.
  • And finally, the new Hydro Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate! This wonder serum is basically a big gulp in a teeny pump. It's super light so it can be used under your moisturiser, make up or even under other serums which is pretty unique! Formulated with a potent complex of 15% plant based glycerin (a natural moisture magnet) and Shiso leaf extract (which helps to protect the anchoring of deep moisture into skin surface layers), it has been proven to sustain hydration over a 72 hour period - wow?! Again I've been using it for 5 days now, but twice a day. My skin definitely feels hydrated for longer. I work in an office and I'm usually drying out and visibly flaking by 3pm but not this week so it must be doing something right - high five!
We were so lucky to get a full size bottle of the new serum in our take home goodie bags, along with the other products in sample sizes. I know right? SPOILT.

Kiehl's skincare

I also treated myself to a couple of the other products Gerwyn had recommended for me during my consultation. I still suffer from blemishes, and I have a tendency to equate oiliness with spots so I strip my skin with harsh face washes and exfoliate too much. Gerwyn recommended the Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser and Calendula Herbal Extract Toner as a base routine to get my skin back on track. It sounds obvious to me now but by cleaning my skin so harshly, I'm forcing it to overproduce on oil, which in turn is causing my spots. This double act should calm my skin down and take it back to it's natural levels so I can really see what I'm working with!

Kiehl's skincare

I've been using both products for 5 days (along with the serums) and there is a marked improvement on my pores and blemishes for sure. I'm going to report back in a few weeks about all of these products because you can't review skincare after a week, it's impossible, but I do have faith in Kiehl's and I will definitely be doing a future show and tell on my new routine so watch this space!

This was probably the most interesting and informative beauty event I've been to in a long time, I feel like I learnt so much about the science behind the beauty and hopefully with that better understanding of what my skin wants and needs will come actual better skin!
Huge thanks to the Kiehl's team and Debenhams Liverpool One, as one legendary motorbike rider said - I'LL BE BACK!

J - Kiehl'd over.

The #VeryBeautyTour comes to Liverpool, and I gotz mah hurr did . . .

We love a good beauty treatment in Liverpool, so it was no surprise to find a huge queue at the #VeryBeautyTour this weekend when I popped into my fave city!

The pink Very van was home to professionals from Percy & Reed, Murad, Nails Inc and Illamasqua, and beauty brands Bourjois and Babyliss, all packed into one spot with one goal, to make us all look hot - hurrah!

very.co.uk #verybeautytour Liverpool blogger

I nabbed myself a spot at the Percy & Reed/Babyliss station for a mini hair adventure. I asked the lovely stylist for a loose Heidi braid and within 15 mins I was walking away with a gorgeous new do, including tousled waves to finish the look! I love it to bits, now I need to sit in front of my mirror for 9200 hours to practice doing it on myself, gahhhh! ;)

The #VeryBeautyTour has come to an end in Liverpool, but the next stop is Leeds on 30th August, and finally Birmingham on 6th September, so plenty of time to get your glam on if you live near those places. There's even a chance to win a £1000 beauty haul after your treatment by snapping a selfie and hashtagging it with #verybeautytour, I know I've done mine - fingers crossed!

The Somerset Toiletry Co.

A little while back I was sent a bundle of products to review from The Somerset Toiletry Co. The team behind the brand have a range of expertise in the beauty field, and have spent time producing products for massive brands such as Anthropologie, Laura Ashley, Oliver Bonas and many more! The Somerset Toiletry Company was set up four years ago with the aim to produce beautifully designed products, made from the finest ingredients, at reasonable prices.

The brand is based around the corner from me, they have an outlet store in Clutton (between Bristol and Bath) where they sell a variety of beauty products including some private label brands - all at huge discounts. If you aren't local, their online store is set to go live on the 1st September!

Ministry of Sound Nightlife Perfume
Ministry of Sound - Nightlife perfume for her (c/o). Retail price: £20

My mum practically tore this perfume from my hands after it arrived - she absolutely loves it! It's a lovely floral scent (with a hint of musk) which I'd definitely say is more of an evening scent than an everyday one. I really love the fun, plastic packaging... It's simple but stylish. Although I can understand why my mum is impressed, I don't think it's a very *me* scent. I'd say it's slightly mature and I personally prefer fruity, sweet smells. That being said, it would make a great gift - especially if you manage to snag one from the Clutton outlet store *cough* it's only £1.50 there *cough*.

Laura Ashley Peppermint Lip Balm
Laura Ashley - Peppermint Oil Replenishing Lip Balm (c/o)Retail price: £7

Oooh yes, this lip balm is a winner in my eyes. It smells so good I want to gobble it all up like it's a box of After Eights. A little goes a long way with this oil, it leaves my dry lips feeling nourished and rather kissable (even if I do say so myself). I'll definitely buy another once this runs out!

Naturally European Ginger Lime Hand Cream

Naturally European - Ginger & Lime Luxury Hand Cream (c/o)Retail price: £7.

Free from SLS and parabens, this luxury hand cream smells incredible and is a fantastic, thick consistency. It contains 20% shea butter which provides healing and protection to hands. I have very sensitive skin on my fingers and my hands are constantly taking a beating due to the nature of my job, but this hand cream is a lifesaver. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who suffers from dry hands. It would also make a really nice gift - I never think much of hand creams but this is my new fave!

Asquith and Somerset English Rose Soap
Asquith & Somerset - English Rose Fine Fragranced Soap (c/o)Retail price: £4.50

I know us soap users are a dying breed, but I love a good bar of the good stuff. Sometimes using shower gel can be so wasteful as I end up using half a bottle in one go. The packaging of this product does seem a little dated (I can imagine my 70 year old neighbour loving it) but it has a relatively subtle floral scent and is a great size. As my skin is so sensitive, I tend to shy away from fragranced soaps therefore I passed this one across to my mum to try. It lathers well and because it's so big, lasts a long time. Again, it's the type of product which you could bundle with a few other items to make a nice gift for someone.

To celebrate their new store launch, The Somerset Toiletry company will also be running some exciting promotions and a competition. You'll be able to win a luxury hamper worth over £100, the first five orders (over £30) placed on the site will get a special gift, there will be free P&P for the first week + more! For more info, follow them via Twitter and Facebook.

What do you think of TSTC? Would you use any of these products?

T - West country and proud!

Rawrgirls Review . . . Clarins Skincare!

9 weeks ago I posted this pic on Instagram because I had just embarked on a new skincare regime with some Clarins minis. My usual skincare (probably to T's horror) is pretty non-existent. I use a face wash and moisturiser obviously, but anything else is pretty sporadic - until now!

Okay, so in this pretty little parcel we had the following:

Water Comfort One-Step Cleanser With Peach Essential Water
HydraQuench Cream SPF15 Normal to Dry Skin
HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase
Beauty Flash Balm
Instant Eye Make-Up Remover
HydraQuench Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm
Hand and Nail Treatment Cream

The Standouts!

I tried my very best to stick to this twice a day routine, and after only a week in I saw a massive improvement in my skin. I have what I call reverse combination skin, as in I have a dry T-zone and oily cheeks so I find it difficult to find a cleanser that works which is why I tend to use a face wash but the Water Comfort One-Step Cleanser With Peach Essential Water is a whole new world for me. I ran out of the mini sample after about 4 weeks and made a rush trip to Debenhams to buy the full size because I couldn't live without it! It just makes my skin feel so clean and fresh without stripping my T-zone and it's kind of made me rethink my skin type. This particular Water Comfort Cleanser is for Dry-Normal skin, but because I do have oily bits I never choose products for dry skin, and maybe that's where I was going wrong.

The HydraQuench cream and HydraQuench serum are an absolute dream team. The cream is my next full size purchase, but the sample has lasted so long because you really don't need a lot at all. I use the serum when my skin feels like it needs an extra hit. It's definitely a luxury product at £42 but now I've used it I don't know if I could cope without it - GULP.

The Instant Eye Make-Up Remover is amazing. I love the non-greasiness of it all, it's almost like using water to remove your mazzy and I only need one soaked pad for 2 eyes. 9 weeks later and the mini sample bottle still has a quarter left - crazy!

And finally, a big shout out to the HydraQuench Lipbalm! I remember using it for the first time and checking out my own lips in the mirror every time I went to the bathroom because I felt like Angelina Jolie, they were so pink and plump!

Overall, I loved every one of the products but I'm not a first time Beauty Flash Balm user, so that one was a given, and to be honest I don't use hand cream often enough to feel the benefits of this particular one. My skin has seen a big improvement though, it's much cleaner and I'm not struggling with my dry T-Zone as much as I used to. It may sound like a premium skincare regime is expensive but most of these Clarins mini samples are still going strong after 9 weeks and they're not even full size, which proves that the products are good value for money! Consider us Clarins converts - to the counter!

J - Just peachy.

Jurlique Natural Skincare Herbal Recovery Review!

Just over a month ago, I was sent a box of beauty products from Australian natural beauty brand, Jurlique. I've really started to get into my skincare over the past year or so, and I'm always drawn to natural products and anything anti-ageing.

After using these products for the past 5 weeks, I can honestly say I'm impressed! Jurlique have received a lot of rave reviews from magazines and beauty bloggers and now I totally get it. I was sent 3 products to review, a serum, eye cream and night cream.

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Review
c/o Jurlique

Let it be known, 2014 is the year I became hooked on serums. I can't even remember my skincare routine before I used a serum twice a day! First impressions, the Herbal Recovery Serum smells delicious. I have some natural products which just smell like grass (pretty unpleasant) but this one has a lovely floral scent. The iridescent glass bottle has a handy pump and the packaging feels expensive. The serum itself has a silky texture and is light on the skin - not greasy in the slightest. This clinically proven antioxidant gel serum features Jurlique's proprietary active complex of over 18 botantical extracts, vitamins and essential fatty acids to combat the signs of ageing. It claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines, increase skin elasticity and hydration and protect against the environment.

This is a beautiful product! After just days of using it, Jade emailed me to rant about much she loves it. It feels gentle on my skin and is extremely refreshing and hydrating. I'm not sure if I've noticed a difference in my fine lines but I leave that up to my eye cream anyway!

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Eye Cream

I should be called the eye cream queen because I love trying new ones! I'm definitely conscious of fine lines so I'm always looking for ways to reduce them. The Herbal Recovery Eye Cream has the same yummy floral scent but is thicker and more potent. It's supposed to firm, hydrate and brighten the skin around your eyes and similar to the serum, it's to be used morning and night.

I'd definitely say it's hydrating and it does provide luminosity, but I'm not convinced it's the best eye cream I've ever tried. I do really like it and I will continue to use it until it's finished, but I'm not sure it's *the one I've always been looking for* which is going to banish my fine lines. What I do like is that it's natural and contains botanicals and plant oils including Cucumber extract and Safflower Oleosomes (designed to improve skin firmness). If you want a natural eye cream which will fade dark circles and puffiness while gently hydrating your under eyes, this is for you.

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Night Cream

In true Rawrgirl fashion, I've saved the best 'til last. My skincare collection had been lacking was a good night cream until the Herbal Recovery Night Cream came into my life! My mum always taught me the importance of a decent skincare routine growing up and I know that moisturising is key to younger looking skin. I was really excited to try this product when it arrived and it didn't disappoint.

It's extremely nourishing and hydrating, the two qualities every girl wants from a night cream. It contains select vitamins and antioxidants to help improve the skin's natural defences and provides the appearance of healthy looking skin. I love how rich it is, it softens my skin overnight and I wake up looking *glowy*. It's not too heavy for my skin and doesn't clog my pores, it's the perfect combination. It even won a Beauty Bible Award!

Have you ever heard of Jurlique? Are you a fan of natural skincare?

T - Further proof that Aussies are doing it better. AGAIN.

bareMinerals Bristol Beauty Blogger Event!

Last Friday, I attended a VIP bareMinerals Bristol Beauty Blogger Event in House of Fraser, Cabot Circus. I was first introduced to the brand back in 2008 when I wandered into a Sephora in SoBe (Miami) looking for something to stop my face melting off. Thankfully one of the chipper American Sales Assistants suggested bM and I was able to party with a shine-free face!

I stopped using Bare Minerals about a year or so ago, so it was nice to be re-introduced to the brand and educated in a really fun and informal way! There were nibbles and treats on hand while the lovely Ashton talked us through the history of the company and gave us an overview of the products.

Bare Minerals Moxie Lipgloss

I'm quite conscious of what I put on my face and the Bare Minerals foundation, Mineral Veil and Warmth are made with only the purest, highest quality ingredients. The foundation is proven to improve your skin over time, it's lightweight and has surprisingly good coverage. It's definitely worth investing in a starter kit if you're a bM newbie and fancy giving it a go - my first kit lasted for agggges!

We were each treated to a Make Under, Joseph created a really natural look for me which was so easy to achieve! During the event we were invited to try out different products and it's pretty safe to say we were all obsessed with the Marvelous Movie Hypnotist (Colour Changing) Lipgloss. Seeing is believing with this awesome gloss, it makes me think of unicorns and is definitely on my WANT list. Waaah!

I've been impressed by their skincare in the past, I really like their Renew & Hydrate Eye Cream and I have their Active Cell Renewal Night Serum ready to try, but next on my list is the Pure Transformation Night Treatment! This product sounds magical, it's a concentrated powder (weird, right?) which has been clinically proven to reduce pores, improve skin texture and it's anti-aging! It comes in 4 different shades including clear and I can't wait to give it a whirl.

Bare Minerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment
Bare Minerals House of Fraser

It's always nice to meet new faces at blog events, shout out to Beky Lou, Eltoria Secrets, A Simple Melody and Maliberry Makeup - it was super to meet y'all! Payday is just around the corner so I know I'll be investing in a new starter kit soon. We were each given a goody bag and even had our nails painted by the lovely team at Estée Lauder...It was such a fun night! If you live locally, head into House of Fraser and check out the bM concession, Ashton & Joseph are the sweetest and are both so knowledgeable.

Have you used bM before?

T - My love for bareMinerals has been reignited! Thanks for the invite guys. ♥

Benefit - They're Real Push-Up Liner Review!

Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner Review
c/o Benefit

I've been a huge fan of Benefit cosmetics for the past 10 years, I love trying out their new products and I was recently sent this little bundle to review! First impressions were really good, if you've read another blog review you may already know that this package came with a working video (you just insert a USB cable and BOOM, it plays) ...Seriously. Bonus points for creativity!

They're Real Push-Up Liner
I don't usually use liquid liner, I tend to use a pencil eyeliner for quickness or a gel liner if I'm feeling fancy. I don't have the steadiest hand in the world so I was a bit apprehensive about trying this! Thankfully, it's extremely easy to use. The rubber tip allows you to get really close to your lashline (something I sometimes struggle with) and because it's a pen, application is just approx 19191 x easier. When I first swatched it, I was shocked that it wouldn't budge when wiped. This stuff is heavy duty and hella long-lasting - result! Figuring out how to get the liquid out wasn't the easiest...Thank goodness for Google. *Apparently* you click the base 1-2 times to and then the gel appears, but on the first use I probably had to click it about 10 times before anything happened.

I still require a lot of practice before I get the perfect application, but next time I wear it in an outfit post I'll be sure to mention it! I think it's a pretty reasonable price for a Benefit eyeliner which is so long-lasting. It's obvious a lot of thought went into the design of this, those Benebabes sure know their stuff! Would I recommend it? Hellz yeah if you have a steady hand!

They're Real Mascara
I was also sent a mini version of the They're Real Mascara which I've already been using for a little while. I know this mascara has been heavily raved about in the blogging community, but anyone who has it knows how darn stubborn it is to remove. Although the added volume/lengthening is undeniable, fighting to get it off every night (and losing a lot of lashes in the process) completely put me off. I was team BADgal all the way. UNTIL...I tried this little product:

They're Real Eye Makeup Remover
TA-DA! This makeup remover is a must-have for anyone using the They're Real Mascara or Eyeliner. Ooooh boy. Battling to get your waterproof mascara/eyeliner off is a thing of the past thanks to this baby! It removes eye makeup with ease and has made me fall in love with the mazzie. Double win. I can now have awesome statement eyes without the fear of taking half my eyelashes off before bed.

Have you tried any of the They're Real collection? Are you a fellow Benebabe?

T - Hella impressed.

Rawrgirls Review . . . Artdeco Camouflage Concealer!

I'm enjoying this product so much that I just had to do a quick show and tell in it's honour! The Artdeco Camouflage Cream concealer is water resistant and long lasting for perfect coverage and the selection of colours are designed to work together so you can mix them up easily to perfectly match your own skintone. I picked up no. 15 Summer Apricot to start me off and I couldn't be more impressed. The little sliding window packaging can be popped into one of Artdeco's refillable beauty boxes but I find it sturdy enough as it is, maybe when I get another colour then I'll invest :)

artdeco camouflage cream review sweet apricot blog review swatch

It truly does last all day even in this sweltering summer heat, and I'm using it on blemishes, under the eye, and to lighten cheekbones and chin etc. Camouflage Cream is, for me, the perfect concealer. You can even lighten the texture with a little moisturiser and apply all over, it's so versatile and I'm not joking when I say that I don't think I'll ever buy another concealer again!

Available at Debenhams and Beauty Bay and priced at a super reasonable £8.50 each, I'm definitely investing in a few more colours next time I'm in Debenhams Liverpool One.

J - Camo queen.

Rawrgirls Review . . . ArtDeco - Jungle Fever Collection!

ArtDeco is defo one of my fave mid-range beauty brands, mainly because I'm always impressed by their affordable, innovative and trend led products, but also because they're based in Liverpool and I can't go to Liverpool One without stopping by the Debenhams concession and pawing at the goodies! The new bronzing collection, Jungle Fever, is a super colourful range featuring eyeshadows, bronzers and lipsticks in tropical tan enhancing shades to help us feel like life is a beach every day!
I was sent two products to add to my collection (lucky me!), the Bronzing Glow Blusher (£20) and Art Couture Lipstick in Pearl Mandarin Orange (£16.50).

I'm a sucker for a good bronzer, I have about 4 on the go right now because I dabble in a bit (okay, A LOT) of contouring, so this new ArtDeco compact is a godsend because it actually houses three shades, all with a gold shot so they blend together beautifully! It's HELLA good. I use all three colours in one swipe to get a warm shimmering glow on my cheekbones, or I contour using the bronze colour and then use one or both pinks on the apples of my cheeks for a more 'made up' look. It's weirdly foolproof too, the brush (I use a Real Techniques Blush Brush) seems to pick up just the right amount with each stroke so there's no fear of stripey cheek syndrome with the first touch! I'm really quite taken with this one, and the gorgeous J-Lo in Versace-esque packaging just makes it even more covetable ;)

Art Couture lipstick has a gel like texture, so it shines like a gloss but with the durability of a lipstick leaving a long lasting but soft look to your lips. I've been after a new orange lipstick for literally months, and I've swatched and swatched but just not been able to commit because they're either too matte, too red toned, or too tame and sheer. This one is just right! A true ORANGE orange, with a pearlescent gold shimmer to make your lips POP! It reminds me of my all time favourite Versace lipgloss from yonks ago, which once used up was discontinued and never to be seen again, so hurrah! I'm actually considering buying this one up and putting them in storage . . .

*cringey old perv voice* Look at the shine on that - OOOF! Seriously, you could squeeze that colour and get your daily dose of vitamin C, YUM!

Overall, fine holiday fun, ArtDeco wins again, two enthusiastic thumbs up for both products :)

The Jungle Fever collection is out now with prices starting at £8 for an eyeshadow. You can find ArtDeco at Debenhams both instore and online, and BeautyBay online. If like us you're social media mad, I recommend following them on Facebook for counter events, competitions and release news :)

Competition! Win 1 of 5 NEW Dove Purely Pampering Body Oils!

Body oils are traditionally slippery little suckers, we're told to apply whilst the skin is still damp but let's face it, most of the time you do it once or twice and end up packing it in because it's just so messy right?! Well this is where Dove step in with their new Purely Pampering Body Oil range!

Priced at £8.99 each and available in two yummy scents; Pistachio Cream & Magnolia and Shea Butter & Warm Vanilla, these light touch oils are quickly absorbed into the skin leaving it super silky without the greasiness - hurrah!

I've been using it in the shower after swimming, which leaves my skin feeling parched no matter what I use afterwards, and the difference in only 1 week is amazing. I've also found that my clothes go on easier even though my skin is still slightly damp. My swimming partner and I had a good laugh about this because I am ALWAYS getting stuck in my little sports bra top that I throw on for the drive home, but not any more! My fave is probably the Pistachio Cream & Magnolia for the scent, but the Shea Butter & Warm Vanilla makes my skin look flawless so it would be perfect for taking on holiday for maintaining a luscious tan :)

The rest of the Dove Purely Pampering range includes body wash and lotion to compliment the oil in your everyday skincare routine. Prices start at £2.29 and the range is exclusive to Boots and Tesco this month until August when it will release nationwide. Howeverrrrrrr, we have 5 bottles of the Purely Pampering Body Oil to give away to 5 lucky readers, as always, entry is quick and easy via our fave Rafflecopter form and you can rack up as many entries as you want!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

T&C's - There will be 5 winners chosen at random by Rafflecopter, each person will win 1 bottle of new Dove Purely Pampering Body Oil worth £8.99. UK residents only please. All entries will be checked and verified. Contest ends 13th July 2014 at midnight GMT.

Rawrgirls Review . . . China Glaze Fade Into Hue and Glitter Up at nailpolish.co.uk!

China Glaze is my second fave nail polish brand, but it's so darn hard to get hold of at times, so hurrah for the latest stockist nailpolish.co.uk! They stock over 350 different nail polish from China Glaze, Barry M, Essie, Tanya Burr, Invogue, Rimmel and Sally Hansen, plus there's free delivery on every order.

I was asked to choose 2 colours for review purposes so I went straight for China Glaze and picked out Fade Into Hue (a beautiful Wedgewood lilac blue) and Glitter Up (a blue, purple and pink hexagonal glitter) to compliment it. Both are £4.35 each, which is a good price for the brand.

The China Glaze formulation is always spot on; dense, creamy and quick drying. Fade Into Hue took 3 thin coats to hit opacity and dries to a gorgeous rich pastel lilac blue. I don't have a colour like this in my vast polish collection, so I'm loving this one!

uk fashion and beauty blog review China Glaze Fade Into Hue and Glitter Up nail polish

I chose Glitter Up to compliment Fade Into Hue, with the intention of either putting one coat over it or layering it on an accent nail. I ended up going with the accent nail because the blue is too pretty to hide! This is actually my first China Glaze glitter polish and I'm impressed! This is 3 quick coats (you know glitters take like, 2 secs to dry!) and it picks up quite a lot of glitter with each dip. I'm often so disappointed in expensive glitters, such as OPI for example, because you have to really fish for a decent spread but Glitter Up was as effortless as 3 coats can be! The colours are crazy cute too.

Rawrgirls Review . . . Mavala Techni-Color Collection!

This season Mavala are encouraging us to indulge in a little flamboyance with 6 bold new shades from their latest collection - Techni-Color

There's something for everybody in this collection, and I was lucky enough to be sent them all for review - to the colours!

Black Night - because a simple black would be too obvious, so Mavala have specked this one with a metallic green for that Maleficent gothic glam look! This is a 2 coat job, and the green is very subtle but you can catch it in the light. I do lurve this one.

Arty Pink - a fun and bubbly pink with a subtle light reflective sheen. Again a 2 coater, but a bit tame for me, still it's quite pretty if you're into your pinks.

Cyber Yellow - billed as a fluorescent yellow with green undertones, it's certainly very sharp in tone and changes colour in different lights. I've noticed it ranging from gold through to lemon sherbert and onto a stronger acid yellow. I would've preferred a cream to the metallic but that's personal taste. This is 3 coats and it looks great.

Cobalt Blue - a fresh, bright blue with a solid cream finish. This is the type of finish I would've preferred on Cyber Yellow. It's PERF, and definitely my fave of the six. I have literally tens of different blues but this one just went straight to the top of my list. It's dense at 2 coats but a third seals the deal.

Antarctic - white nails are set to be one of this season's must have looks and this is a great place to start. A perfect ice white with cream finish - yey! You can't go wrong with three coats of this and a tan, so I'm all set to work this one all summer.

Orange Fusion - a melding of orange and red for a pop of colour. A 2 coater, and again like Cyber Yellow it shifts colour in the light. One minute it looks like a juicy orange, the next it's verging more on red. It's nice but I have brighter Mavala oranges in my collection.

Individually, I have big love for Cobalt Blue, Antarctic and Black Night, but when worn together you can suddenly see why they are together in a collection called Techni-Color, it reminds me of the TV testcard! Black and white with a variation of shades that cover the other colours? I was surprised at how well they bounce off each other. Mavala you geniuses.

It's no secret that Mavala are my fave nail brand, I have gazillions of these little bottles, so I was super excited to hear that they're launching in Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar Liverpool! No more scouring the internet for swatches before ordering online for me, now I can see them with my own eyes, and at £4.75 each this could be dangerous ;)

Rawrgirls Review . . . OPI Glitter Off Peelable Base Coat!

A few weeks back I nabbed the new OPI Glitter Off Peelable Base Coat with much anticipation. At £11.95 I really hoped it was going to do the business on what is possibly one of THE most annoying beauty problems known to woman - the removal of glitter nail polish. Can I get a hell yeah up in hurrrrr?! The first thing you notice is that it looks, smells and feels like primary school glue; thick, white sticky gloop. Ahem. Here it is drying on the nail. Once dry, it turns clear and just looks like a matte base coat.

Once dry you simply apply your chosen glitter polish as you would normally. For this trial I actually layered two of my faves, Orly Monster Mash (a green tint with green glitter) and OPI In True Stefani Fashion (a clear base holographic silver glitter), in a 3 coat hit and run, just for shizz and giggles.

I wore it like this for 3 days before I went for the big peel, but if I'm perfectly honest, I had a bit of a thumb pick on day 2 and whilst it lifted off at the corner for me it didn't actually follow through without me encouraging it further, so all you glue pickers out there can get a bit of satisfaction from it without totally ruining your mani ;) Anyhoo, no problems with the lift off when the time came, it just comes off like a peelable wrap or falsie depending on the number of coats on the nail! Mmmm, this is an attractive photo but still, entirely necessary to illustrate the lift off effect.

Once removed the nail is left in fairly decent health, and with a quick wipe over with your usual polish remover to moisturise and clean them you're ready to start again! When it came to glitter polish I was a picker rather than a soaker, so I would wreak havoc on my nails and this product pretty much solves all my glitter polish problems. One thing I would mention though, since prepping this review I have used the base coat several times and I've noticed that the thicker your glitter, the more likely you are to lose a 'nail' in full. I literally lost one whilst pulling my jeans up and found it on the floor like a perfectly reusuable stick on nail!

Would I recommend this product? Yes, it does exactly what we have all wished for, but just be careful because it has a tendency to do it maybe a bit too well ;)

Rawrgirls Review . . . OPI Drip Dry Lacquer Drying Drops!

A few months ago I attended a Next event where we were treated to manicures. The lovely nail technician used a magical product called OPI Drip Dry Lacquer Drying Drops to help set my wet nails! I added it to my mental *want list* and finally bought it from Feel Unique last week.

It retails for £13.95 which I figured was a small price to pay for such an awesome product. I'm forever smudging my nails just after painting them which is the most annoying thing EVER.

The bottle is 9ml and comes with a cute dropper for easy application. The instructions advise you add 1 to 2 drops to each nail when wet. I painted my nails as normal, with a base coat and a top coat, and then waited 60 seconds. I wasn't sure how messy they would get so the first I applied the drops was in the bathroom. The first thing I noticed is that 2 drops don't go very far. Perhaps if you have short, baby nails it would be more than enough, but this wasn't the case for me and I averaged 3 drops per nail. I found I got better coverage if I used it on a slight angle so I definitely recommend you do that if you buy this product.

The drops also contain Jojoba and Vitamin E in to help sooth cuticles - something I need desperately! It's a gentle product with a faint smell (which isn't offensive) so suitable for sensitive skin. After my nails had dried, I noticed the shine of the top coat has been reduced. I love a good glossy nail so this was a downside for me. However, it did what it promised, after 1 minute my nails were dry to the touch and after a few more minutes the polish was completely dry. Huzzah!

Would I recommend this product? Probably. If you're in a hurry and you don't have time to sit around waiting for your nails to dry, it's pretty nifty. That being said, I can imagine getting through a bottle in no time at all because it has the consistency of water and I require 3 drops per nail. So for £13.95, I think I'll save it this little baby for emergency situations.
