Sugarhill Boutique AW16: Lilly Cocoon Cardi

Monday 19 September 2016

English weather is a strange thing. This week started off very HOT and ended with a bit of a chill in the air. Autumn is coming. Although I'm not quite ready to give up the mild temperatures just yet, I am ready to embrace autumn clothing. Hello knitwear!

I'm secretly excited about woolly hats, scarves and jumpers... I've already started thinking about new boots, winter coats and layers. Lots of layers. This past weekend was a mixture of sunny spells and a cool breeze, so I decided to ease myself into autumn with this snuggly Lilly Cocoon Cardigan from Sugarhill Boutique.

Sugarhill Lilly Cocoon Cardi

If you're a regular around here, you'll know I'm no stranger to Sugarhill Boutique, it's actually one of my favourite British brands. I'm usually drawn to their printed animal frocks but when the latest collection dropped, it was this oversized cocoon cardigan that caught my eye.

Khaki is one of those colours I love to wear in fall. When I think Khaki, I think of military coats, safari styling and J Brand Houlihan's. Yes please. I'm wearing a size 8 but I'd definitely recommend sizing up for a more slouchy look because the slouchier, the better.

Cardigan: Sugarhill boutique (c/o) - Crop: New Look - Skirt: Yumi - Shoes: F&F

The great thing about this cardi is that it's extremely versatile. I wore it on Sunday when I was hanging out with my friends with a crop and lace midi = a pretty casual look. However, I've also worn it a lot to work! The tiny bow details on the sleeves make me happy & also give it a feminine touch.

One of my work colleagues actually complimented me on this little beaut last week and mentioned that she'd spotted a few Sugarhill pieces online, but was worried about the quality. If that's you - fear not! I have a whole selection of garments from the past few years and they are all fantastic quality and still look as good as new. They are definitely worth the price tag.

Have you ever bought any Sugarhill Boutique?
