GAP Denim Addicts #nothingbutdenim

Tuesday 5 April 2016

Last week I went along to check out the new Denim Addicts in-store service at Gap in Liverpool One. Operating across 31 stores nationwide, customers can drop in and meet with a denim specialist, not only to make sure they leave with the perfect pair of jeans but also offering services such as free of charge fitting and personalisation!

Trained in total denim styling, Gap's fabrications and fit, as well as hemming and distressing (just 30 minutes to the perfect personal look for you!), the Denim Addicts are positioned in easy to find stations within the men's and women's denim departments, you have to go check them out, it's a revelation!

I'm not gonna lie, although Tara is a huge Gap fan, I haven't stepped in my local for a long time. I used to live in there but yup, it's been a while so I was totally out of touch with what they have to offer. Which is A LOT. Oh my word, SO much denim kids!

The new Spring 2016 line continues to release as I type and features some really amazing pieces. Think light washes, embroidered denim and linen all coming together to create some really wearable looks. I completely fell in love with the short sleeved bleached denim jacket (second from left in the pic below), and it's 100% on my want list for summer.

Anyhoo, my Denim Addict expert George walked me through all the available styles and gave me her opinion on what she thought would suit me before I tried some styles on. This chick was so knowledgeable and I very quickly put my total trust in her, trying on cuts and sizes that I wouldn't normally have ever reached for. I was loving all of the Gap styles so much that I literally wanted to kick my own jeans when I had to put them back on at the end of my denim try on montage! We eventually decided that my faves were the STRETCH 1969 distressed true skinny ankle jeans (£49.95), they feel like they were made for me and as I'm not the tallest (5'4) the ankle length worked out perfectly. I also loved the raw hem that allows for an easy turn up (no thick ugly turn ups here thank you!), and the well placed distressing on each leg. I could've added extra rips but I was happy with the originals so maybe next time. Speaking of next time, Denim Addicts runs a loyalty programme, buy 5 pairs of jeans and get your 6th pair for free! I'm certain Tara will be thrilled to hear that!

To the outfit . . .

I will be returning to Gap for my next denim purchase for sure, and I've also promised Timmy that I will show him the men's relaxed styles because he finds it so hard to find a casual loose pair in an ocean of trendy men's skinnies.

Gap definitely showed me that they're still at the forefront of denim, I actually can't believe what I've been missing all this time *kicks pile of old jeans* - call me a Gap Denim Addict!
