Six Of The Best - Dungarees!

Friday 27 February 2015

I'm pretty excited about the return of dungarees this season, having been a fan of the bib down look for years, so I'm keen to snap up some more styles while the going is good!

Here are six of the best, as much coveted by *Miss Piggy voice* - MOI! . . .

H&M are running the high street show when it comes to your standard skinny dungs, they're keeping it classic in traditional denim at £29.99.

ASOS are boldly combining 3 key denim trends this season - flares, rips AND dungarees, but boy does it work! Loving this pair at £45.

These River Island floral dungarees are just £20 in the sale but sizes are limited online, so if you find a pair at that price instore, snap them up!

Whistles. Oh Whistles. So chic, so worth the £120 if I had it going spare!

Missguided are giving us a bit of gangster glam with their pinstripe bib and brace at £35. Not gonna lie, I'd totally wear these to the office too.

Finally, Boohoo are going all out for comfort in their fab grey marl jogger style dungarees at just £20. Loungewear has never been so stylish!

So what do you think? Are you a fan of this trend? What style do you prefer? I think my fave style is the traditional skinny denim but I could easily be swayed to the pinstripe cotton which I think would look super cute with some crisp white pumps and matching plain tee this summer!

J - Dunga-weeeeeeeeeeee!

New Season Mi Moneda at Fraser Hart - Diseno Bordeaux Flake Coin!

Thursday 26 February 2015

So Tara and I are kind of obsessed with the new season Mi Moneda at Fraser Hart. We have quite a few amazing pieces between us now which you've probably seen over the years, including bracelets, rings and carrier pendant/necklace combos, and adding to the collection never gets old! My new baby is the eyecatching Diseno Medium Bordeaux Flake Coin (£35). This medium sized coin features a stainless steel surround protecting a gorgeous deep purple jewel cut centre with suspended gold flakes inside, and it is a beauty!

Isn't it pretty?! Like tiny golden islands floating in a deep purple ocean, swoooooon!

Fraser Hart has a ton of new in Mi Moneda styles just waiting to be plucked and popped on, here are a few of my faves . . .
Each time that I get a new coin I try to go for something completely different to what I have so far, yet somehow they always seem to look perfect with my one and only gold deluxe carrier pendant and mismatched rose gold necklace set. I love the mixed metal look that you can achieve with this brand which is why my very first set was made up of a gold carrier, rose gold chain and silver coin! I should really get a new carrier in a different colour though, or at least a different sized gold one so I can double up like T does. The possibilities are as endless as your purse, which unfortunately in my case, is not bottomless - sob! ;)

Don't fret however, because prices start at just £11 for a small Roca coin (I have the medium mint one and they are stunning, so don't be fooled by the seemingly low price!) but rise to just under £300 for the most expensive ready to go three piece set so there really is something for every budget and style, meaning Mi Moneda truly is the ultimate in personalised jewellery, and once you pop you just can't stop, trust us!

People Tree Blogger Feature - The Eco Edit!

Wednesday 25 February 2015

This month I was invited to take part in The Eco Edit, People Tree's online and print magazine! I love People Tree, they support Fair Trade, believe in environmentally sustainable fashion, and work with many talented designers. Eco-friendly fashion always gives me the warm and fuzzies so I was extremely flattered to be featured by them.

I was sent a beautiful Spring outfit to style from their new collection for the edit and also took part in a mini interview. It's still quite cold out at the moment but I really like how fresh this outfit is and I'm happy it looks quite boho, wouldn't you agree?

I think my favourite item is this incredible shawl. It's a real statement piece and will work with so many of my other outfits! Their new collection is completely swoon worthy, I really want the Becca Broderie dress next.

Have you heard of People Tree? Do you support Fair Trade fashion?  Make sure you check out the March/April '15 Eco Edit, it's full of interesting articles and you can read my thoughts on style and eco-fashion!

Presents for Men: Surname History!

Tuesday 24 February 2015

Buying presents for men can prove tricky, especially if they aren't that interested in fashion and already have tons of boy gadgets. It's my boyfriend's birthday coming up so I've spent a lot of time researching gift ideas for men. I've thought about experience days and trips away but I always like to buy him lots of little things to open.

A while back we were contacted by Presents for Men and asked if we'd like to review something from their site. They have tons of really cool (manly) gifts and accessories, so I was slightly overwhelmed by everything they had to offer.

Presents for Men Review
Surname HistorySurname history: c/o - Motto for the Coat of Arms translates as: Seek nothing beyond your sphere.

In the end I opted for this certificate of Surname History! As you can see Sam has quite an unusual last name and he can be a bit of a history buff, so I think he'll appreciate this. It comes on high quality paper and includes his surname, family Coat of Arms, Crest and Motto! I think it will look great in a frame on our wall. As his last name is double-barreled, the history is only for Costley which I think is a bit of a shame... in retrospect I probably should have ordered one for each name! I was also surprised to discover his name had an Irish history as he's African.

In other related Costley-White news, we've officially booked our wedding venue for next year! We'll be getting married in the Cotswolds, just down the road from where Sam proposed. I've always wanted an intimate barn wedding (although the wedding co-coordinator informed us our numbers definitely aren't actually classed as intimate ha) and our venue is just perfect. It has a beautiful fairy light canopy and it's not too flashy, the organisers are really chilled and I think it's going to be a lot of fun. I've also found my dress and I can't wait to start planning properly! SQUEE.

Do you find shopping for men difficult? Have you ever researched your family history?

T - Soon to be a C-W.

SS15 Want List!

Monday 23 February 2015

Next month I'm officially putting myself on a spending ban. I have some serious saving to do (because weddings don't come cheap), however I can't resist swooning over the incredible Spring/Summer pieces which have made it onto my radar this past week. Introducing my SS15 want list:

SS15 Want List

I've always been a lover of Scandi style and with that being said, Twist & Tango's new collection is possibly their best S/S range to date. I'm in love with their bold prints, gypsy style blouses and relaxed fit dresses. I really like this simple cami and trouser combo which is stylish but completely effortless. These epic buckle wedges are by ASH footwear, a brand I can't get enough of at the moment. Of course I can never say no to a new fedora or another Mi Moneda coin and I threw this Swarovski slake bracelet in my list for good measure. Outfits are all about the accessories!

The 70's trend is everywhere right now and I've always been crazy about fringing, I'm hoping to buy a 70's style leather jacket this year but until then I think I might have to do with this cute cross body bag. I already have a pair of Ray-Ban Clubmaster's but they aren't classic black and designer sunnies are always an investment, right? ;) The final item on my want list is some tinted PAWPAW balm. I've read so many good reviews of this product but I'm yet to try it! I might have to quickly grab a tube before February is over and my spending ban begins. A-hem.

Which of my picks is your favourite? Which SS15 item are you dreaming of?

T - Needs a pair of those Nala trousers!

Fred's Shoes at PLFM London Shoe Show!

Friday 20 February 2015

Earlier this month, Steph and I attended the PLFM London shoe show held at the beautiful Westbury Hotel in Mayfair. We were invited by new brand Fred's Shoes, who were showcasing their current and upcoming collections. There was a lot of incredible footwear on display including established brands such as Camper, Jil Sander, Senso and See by ChloĆ©.

After a quick tea pit-stop we met designer Vic, who introduced us to the current range of shoes and gave us a sneak peek of what's to come. It was so lovely to talk to Vic and hear about her experience in footwear design and what Fred Shoe's is all about. All of her pieces are made to an exceptionally high standard and are designed to be comfortable but stylish. Only the softest leather is used and as I now own a pair, I can confirm they feel wonderful on. They're ultra lightweight and they don't pinch at all!

As I'm a huge sucker for an Oxford shoe, I can't wait to get my paws on the new Fred's with treads! I think the classic black is my favourite and they would look perfect with any pair of skinnies. I also loved the new Fred's trainer collection, the design is so minimalist but oozes style. I can genuinely see them on every fashion blogger on the planet... They have a sort of throwback vibe, wouldn't you agree? Those slip-on shoes are also just perfect.

I always feel more passionate about a brand after meeting the team behind it, and I can't recommend them enough. I think it's so important to support small British designers so if you're on the hunt for high quality, hand-made footwear, you can't go wrong with a pair from Fred's Shoes!

Have you heard of Fred's Shoes before? Which style is your favourite?

T - All about those leopard beauts.

Here Comes The Summer . . . heidi klein Pilat Collection!

Thursday 19 February 2015

Tara and I are looking at two honeymoons on the 2016 horizon, so it's definitely time for a designer swimwear lust list! One stop holiday shop, heidi klein, are always up there when it comes to Rawrgirl beachwear aspirations, so a good new in browse is essential if you're in the mood for some high end pieces, and if you can't splurge for your honeymoon we don't know when you can!

The beautiful petrol blue Pilat Collection is new in and I was rather excited to see that it includes two new D-G cup designs, which is always a fun time for curvy ol' me! It's good to see that the one piece is just as hot as the bikinis too, with the power mesh and ruching adding to the confidence that the extra control gives. The Pilat D-G One Piece features a halter neck and silver bamboo ring for support and style whilst the Pilat D-G U Bar Bikini also features halter neck styling and a fierce U ring for extra pow! The Pilat Balcony Bikini makes the most of a cute figure with moulded cups, side boning and removeable straps. I can so see Tara and I having a style off in these styles, but until then I've put them with a few super chic accessories from the heidi klein webby . . .

The Pilat collection starts at £85 for the bikini bottoms and is available is sizes 6-16, AA to G cups, so if you've got it, definitely consider splurging on it!

The Leopard Life - Wolford Baloo Tights!

Tuesday 17 February 2015

When it comes to tights, stockings and socks, it doesn't get much more luxurious than Wolford. If I was a rich girl I'd wear nothing else, and if you've ever tried them yourself I think you'll know what I mean. Some friends have asked me exactly what is so special about them, and the answer is simple, quality and one of a kind styling!

This 'Baloo Sahara' style (£35) was my first pick when Wolford offered to treat me last year. They may not be the most expensive or the flashiest from their huge range, but I adore the black cheetah print on nude, they fox up a plain black outfit with ease. Or in this case, a totally over the top leopard loving number! Yup, I couldn't resist.

Outfit: Jumper - Wildfox, Skirt - Topshop, Tights - c/o Wolford, Boots - c/o F&F

I love how natural the base colour is, it just lets your skin colour show through but in my extremely pale case, it still gives my pins a bit of a glow. They look sheer, but are actually quite hardy, unlike the high street copy I laddered just by looking at them ;)

I can't rave about Wolford enough. Yes they can be expensive but like all high end designer goods, it's all in the details. I've got a few hosiery pieces of theirs now (the fabulous shapewear and clothing still escapes me), some I've had for over 3 years and still show minimal signs of wear. They are built to last and are worth a thousand pairs of £3 high street tights. It's all about the knitted waistband, the robust seams, the amazing springback in the stretch and of course, the designs, so if you are thinking of investing then I say do it, but be prepared to side eye every other pair of tights in your drawer afterwards!

J - Tight tights baby!

Next Summer 2015 Press Day!

Monday 16 February 2015

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to the Next Summer press day! If you're a regular reader you'll know how much I love their events and press days, the team put a lot of effort in and they're always visually inspiring.

I think Next's clothing and accessories are to be becoming more stylish (and younger) with each season that passes, I'd need both hands to count the new pieces I want in my wardrobe this Summer. My favourite item was the Airmail clutch bag, it's a really good size and I'll be buying it and soon as it drops... Before it sells out!

Next Airmail Clutch
Next Summer Collection
Next Summer 2015 Press Day
Boho Summer Fashion

The press day was held at the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho and the setup was just beautiful. It had a somewhat Anthropologie vibe going on. My favourite collection was really boho and full of loose fitting garments - think Free People but affordable! I definitely want some of the gypsy style blouses and the little denim shorts with crochet on the bottom.

Next Summer Shoes
Nautical Summer Fashion
Highstreet Stacking Rings

I tend to wear Next shoes to work because they're so comfortable and don't break the bank. These cute turquoise sandals will go perfectly with a pair of skinnies or a sweet Summer dress. I hope they come in various colours so I can stock up my work shoe-drobe!

Pink Next Platforms
Miniature Ice Cream Cones

During the day we were treated to nibbles and cocktails (although I mainly opted for tea and cake). Both the food and the service was fantastic, I couldn't resist the miniature lemon meringues and these tiny ice cream cones! The tastiest flavour was the one on the left, rhubarb. NOM.

Handpainted Next Homeware
Next 2015 Kitchenware
Next Pineapple Storage Jar

They also had a selection of Summer homeware on display and my favourite pieces are shown above. This Summer, Next are introducing a range of hand painted pieces at great prices. This is something I never expected a high street store like Next would do, and both Steph and I were very impressed by the quality. I can see this collection doing REALLY well, the beautiful lamp shown above is just one of the pieces we loved.

The press day was also the perfect excuse to hang out with Steph of FAIIINT, blog events are much more fun when you go with a friend and we have the best time together. Thank you much to Next for inviting me, I can't wait until I can start building my Summer wardrobeThankfully I don't have to wait much longer as everything above is due to go on sale next month. Huzzah!

Do you shop at Next? Are you excited for their new Summer collection?

T - Wants to be Vanessa Hudgens.

Mi Moneda Valentine's Collection and Fred's Shoes!

Thursday 12 February 2015

Another day, another outfit post featuring some epic jewellery! One of my favourite jewellery brands is Mi Moneda. I have a whole treasure chest full of their 'Monedas' (or coins) and have a coin holder in every size. I am addicted. To celebrate Valentine's day, they've teamed up with UK jewellery store Fraser Hart and created some exclusive Valentine's coins! Like a lot of their coins, these special Monedas are double sided, so can be worn in different ways.

I love doubling up my Monedas and I think this combination is the cutest. My favourite side has 'Key to my Heart' written on it, but the adorable 'XOXO' face makes me think of Gossip Girl so I really like both! It is only available in the large size but also comes in silver and rose gold. These coins are limited edition so I'd definitely nab one while you can if you're a fan! I paired mine with the medium sized Domes Gold Flake Coin from the new collection. Super sparkly, right? ;)

I wore this outfit at the weekend and decided to keep it quite simple by opting for some black skinnies, a black blouse and leather jacket combo! My sweet leather fringed bag was a gift from Jade and my incredible shoes are by new footwear brand, Fred's shoes! I was first introduced to them last year, when I visited Pure London. They're based in Shropshire and my beautiful Oxford shoes were handmade in Portugal. The fit of these Dance Fred's is perfect! They feel like soft leather ballet shoes and are so light on my feet, I almost feel as if I'm not wearing shoes. They really are perfect for dancing.

I genuinely haven't felt this excited about a brand in a long time. Last week, Steph & I were lucky enough to get a sneak preview of their new collection at PLFM London... SPOILER ALERT: they will soon be launching a range of hella stylish (think old school) trainers! Every blogger will want them. Tara-uth. Designer Vic is such a warm and friendly person, she's extremely talented but still really grounded! As Steph & I are a pair of chatterboxes, we ended up talking to Vic for hours over tea and biscuits. Best press day ever.

Will you be buying a Mi Moneda coin for Valentine's day? Are you pro-comfortable footwear?

T - Works 60 seconds away from a Fraser Hart so will probably be buying a new Mi Moneda coin tomorrow! ;)
