Konifer Wooden Watches Review

Tuesday 10 November 2015

If you want to buy Sam & I a gift, just because, buy us watches. We both love our timepieces and Sam is a little more obsessed than me. Teens and early twenty-somethings tend to rely on their smartphones, Fitbits or digital Apple watches but we're kids from the tick tock watch generation.

A little while ago we were sent a pair of
wooden watches from Konifer
, a cool Canadian brand who specialist in eco-friendly, 100% natural hardwood watches with a non-toxic oil finish. We aren't wood watch newbies so we were excited to see how they compare to their competitors. Upon arrival, I was quite surprised by how large they were! They both came in nice presentation boxes (cardboard) and were happily ticking away.

Konifer Wood Watch

Me - Dress: Sugarhill Boutique Amelia Tunic (c/o) - Jacket: HIDE - Hat: Accessorize - Boots: F&F - Watch: Konifer (c/o)
Sam - Jumper: TK Maxx - Trousers: Banana Republic - Shoes: M&S - Watch: Konifer (c/o)

The problem with wood watches is that they never come sized, so you have to get the links removed from a jewellers. This wasn't a big issue with our previous watches which were adjusted quickly and easily, but these guys seemed to pose a bit more of a challenge! In the end, I decided to buy a few cheap tools from eBay (which only cost a couple of quid) and adjusted them myself. Simple.

This past week I've really been embracing my autumn/winter wardrobe and window shopping for new threads! It's actually been surprisingly warm, I've been heading to work with my layers and knitwear and then stripping off before I get there. This oversized Amelia Stag Print Tunic Dress from Sugarhill Boutique has been cheering me up this week, I've been hanging it up in my room like it's a piece of art until I could finally wear it at the weekend. Sugarhill have loads of new arrivals in at the moment but this dress is the cutest style around - expect to see it featured in many more outfit posts.

In other news, our wedding plans are slotting into place! With just over 6 months to go, we've decided on our menus (I say decided, we still need to sample them...) and started sorting all the boring bits like deadlines for balances etc. Time really flies! I'm definitely starting to get more excited now. It's always fun to drag Sam onto the blog as I certainly prefer posing with him - we're practising our wedding day photo moves. Bahahaha. How dapper does he look in this turtleneck and those brogues?

Do you have a favourite watch? Do you like printed dresses?

T & S - Counting down the days until the big party.
