Liverpool Wildflower

Wednesday 7 October 2015

How many times do you see a beautiful wildflower meadow slap bang in the middle of an inner city development area? I couldn't believe how pretty this piece of land on the edge of Liverpool city centre was, so in true blogger form we stopped to take some pics! It was full of poppies, cornflowers and daisies, a gorgeous little haven of nature nestled between a main road and an actual building site. This city always has me in awe.

It doesn't look like it landed here by itself, so I'm wondering if it was planted by the city's National Wildflower Centre, who have done some amazing projects already and although I can't see this on their list of locations, I really hope it sticks around. If I go back and it's been bulldozed over I think I might drop to my knees and cry! There were a few other passers by taking photos of it too, so it just goes to show how much places of natural beauty like this are appreciated in a big city. What a fab idea?
