Rawrgirl Style Challenge: The Seaside Dress!

Monday 11 May 2015

It's time for another Rawrgirl style challenge! Jade wore this adorable seaside dress last week, and now it's my turn to style it. I'm sure you'll agree, this is one Boden-licious dress at a fraction of the price! The beautiful print makes me think of ice creams and lazy afternoon walks along the Bristol harbourside. It has such a flattering shape and comes with a sewn in net underskirt, for added volume.

50's style dresses are so elegant. I do wish it was slightly shorter (it's apparently midi-length...yeah, right) and a bit smaller, but I'm still chuffed with it. The reviews are a bit misleading and although I occasionally take a 6 in dresses, this 8 certainly runs big - especially around the chest! Unfortunately it doesn't come in a 6, so I've had to make do by pulling it in with a waist belt and dealing with some excess under arm fabric. I might get a tailor to take it in!

Dress and sandals: George (c/o) - Leather jacket: HIDE - Hat: Miss Selfridge

I styled it with some black block heel sandals and a leather jacket. I think it's pretty hilarious that I posed in the rain for these snaps because the sun came back out 30 minutes later. Standard British weather.

The best part about this seaside print dress is the price. It's only £20. SERIOUSLY. Four times cheaper than a Boden alternative. Fact. George have so many cool summer dresses at the moment, I have my eyes on one of their pastel embellished maxis! I hope even more cute dresses are on the way.

Would you wear this dress? Do you like how I styled it?
