Rawrgirls Review: Diamond Earrings from Gemporia!

Tuesday 25 November 2014

Ever since getting engaged last month, I've developed into a bit of a diamond lover! We were recently contacted by Gemporia, a genuine gemstone retailer who specialise in jewellery pieces made from gemstones and precious metals. All of their stones and metals are ethically sourced, and as part of their 'Diamonds are Forever' campaign, they asked if we'd like to review a pair of their beautiful diamond earrings!

I've always dreamed of owning a pair of stylish diamond earrings so was mega excited when given the opportunity to get my paws on a pair. I opted for these lovely studs which almost look like sparkly flowers. I'm all about white gold so I decided to match my earrings to my engagement ring...Obvio! ;)

Hopefully these pictures do them justice. I can't wait to wear them with some of my brand new LBD's over the upcoming party season. If you still have your Christmas shopping to do, these would make a fantastic gift. I am a huge fan of costume jewellery but sometimes it's nice to invest in genuine gemstones which will last a lifetime. I'm slowly starting to build on my diamond collection and I think I need to get a diamond pendant next!

Do you love diamonds as much as me? Have you ever shopped at Gemporia before?

T - Diamond doll.

The silver rose gold plated and cubic zirconia pendant looks really swish, imagine with an LBD - oh Audrey!

My fave item in the box is the adorable silver rose gold plated and cubic zirconia bead bracelet! It looks really delicate and tiny but has a bit of stretch so don't fear, it will definitely fit. I just love how cute it is, gimme a stack of these and I'll be a very happy elf!

This is an excellent idea from Beaverbrooks and I'd imagine it working really well for anyone who might struggle matching pieces. Basically, if you know a chick who likes a touch of sparkle you can't go wrong with this box, all of the pieces are top quality even though you are getting a much welcome saving on the RRP, and it would be a treasure of a surprise under anyone's tree this year - huzzah!

Nica SS15 Blogger Takeover!

Last Wednesday, I attended the Nica Handbags SS15 press day with the rawrsome Steph of FAIIINT. I was invited to take over Nica Handbags' Twitter and Instagram pages and also got to hang out with Nica's senior designer, Nica Kim!

I interviewed Nica earlier in the year, and it was just lovely to catch up with her and find out all the gossip behind the new SS15 collection. There were some adorable new styles on display, including some super stylish mini handbags, chic clutches and lots of across body bags!

As I was given free reign over their Twitter and Instagram, I tweeted a few of my favourite handbag styles and also interviewed Nica again! She's one of the cutest and most talented people I've ever met and is so sweet and bubbly. Here are two of the questions I asked (but you can use the #NicaBTS hashtag on Twitter to read more):

The team gifted me a beautiful bag as a present for attending and I chose the Melena mini bowler bag, which I featured in my previous outfit post. There was another EPIC surprise in store for both Steph and I...Nica Kim is going to name some AW15 bags after us! Waaah!! :O I was absolutely shocked and gave Nica the biggest hug. I told her how I always get excited whenever I see Nica bags in a store, she seemed really touched and said she just loves seeing girls wearing them.

I feel completely honoured that I'm going to have a bag named after me. As there was already a Tara bag a few years ago, it's actually going to be called my most personal nickname...Which you'll find out next year! ;)

Have you heard of Nica Handbags? Which style bag is your favourite?

T - Huge thanks to the Nica team for letting me TAKE OVER! <3

The LBD Zoey Dress + Nica Melena Bag!

Christmas party season is almost upon us [insert *AIR PUNCH*]. I haven't planned any of my Xmas parties yet but boy am I excited. If you're anything like me, you've already started thinking about your outfits. I don't think you can beat a classic LBD so I have a few new ones ready to show off, the first of which is this beautiful Zooey dress from Little Black Dress!

Dress: Little Black Dress (c/o) - Bracelet: Swarovski - Heels: Rainbow Club (c/o) - Bag: Nica (c/o)

Isn't it a beaut? This is the size 8 and it fits like an absolute glove! It was inspired by uber babe, Zooey Deschanel and is made with a rubber-coated, honeycomb mesh overlay. The pleats provide an awesome flare and as it's so figure hugging around the waist, it's extremely flattering. Guys don't know what to make of this one, so it's definitely a good conversation starter if you're looking to mingle with the office hottie at your Xmas do. A-hem.

My adorable Melena mini bag is by one of my favourite handbag brands, Nica! I was kindly gifted this bag when I attended their press day last week. Stay tuned for an upcoming blog post on my Nica Handbags takeover, I was able to catch up with Nica and get all of the gossip from the Nica bags SS15 collection!

I finished my look with some of my favourite sparkly jewels (Swarovski, I want to wear you on a daily basis) and my Vivian Rainbow Club heels. Thankfully, I didn't dye this pair myself but left it up to the professionals. Rainbow Club shoes are said to run half a size small, but I find they run pretty true to size!

Are you hunting for Christmas Party Dresses? Which style handbag is your favourite?

T - Owning the mesh.

Daniel Wellington Classic St Andrews Lady Watch Review!

Wednesday 19 November 2014

I've been trying to simplify my outfits a little lately, less peacocking if you will, with muted colourblocking and simple jeans and jacket combo's like this, but that doesn't mean a girl can't frost like Queen Elsa ;)

Last week I too was gifted a beautiful Daniel Wellington Classic St Andrews Lady watch with leather strap - squeeeee! I already own a Daniel Wellington Classic Southampton Lady watch with a preppy NATO strap and adore it, so I'm more than impressed with this upgrade, plus they are all interchangeable so I can mix it up! To the outfit! . . .

Outfit: Jacket - H&M, Top - Joules, Jeans - Wildfox, Boots - Dr Martens, Necklace (just seen) - Mi Moneda, Bracelets - Swarovski, ChloBo, Watch - c/o Daniel Wellington, Bag - Lulu Guinness, Scarf (around wrist) - Vivienne Westwood.

The elegant face is pleasantly large yet lightweight, and the eggshell white dial is simplistic and super stylish. The satisfyingly rich tan leather strap is made of strong stuff, well crafted and sets off the rose gold frame perfectly, but I added a few blue bracelet accessories to make it pop on my wrist. I LOVE to stack and the slim Daniel Wellington styles make it so easy.

Isn't it a beauty? It's exciting to watch a relatively new brand evolve to grip the fashion world, and over the past few years or so it seems like Daniel Wellington has nabbed a firm place in our hearts with the line now stocked in huge stores like Topshop, Selfridges, ASOS, John Lewis and Goldsmiths. Their timeless styles are a minimalistic alternative to the likes of Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors, whilst still capturing the pull of the ever popular rose gold. The quality is top notch, it's clear they take pride in the craftsmanship and aren't just churning them out for the short term. This brand is here to stay and you can get 15% off until the end of November with our discount code stylerawr - so get shopping! ;)

The Classic St Andrews Lady is £159, and would make an awesome Christmas gift. Toot toot!

J xoxo

Daniel Wellington Classic York Lady Watch Review!

Tuesday 18 November 2014

Could it be any colder!? There was definitely a chill in the air last weekend so I wrapped up during my stroll along the Bristol harbourside. Grey is THE colour for Autumn/Winter '14 and I'm all over it. I definitely need some more grey knitwear in my 'drobe! I love pairing greys and pastels together, they make such a dreamy combo...Wouldn't you agree?

Last week I received a beautiful Classic York Lady watch from watch experts, Daniel Wellington. My timepiece collection is starting to rival Sam's, and I have a feeling he'll probably be stealing this one...

Daniel Wellington watches are extremely well-made and definitely worth the price tag. I picked this lovely dark brown crocodile leather strap and rose gold face, because it's so different to all my other ones! It's luxe and classic but still perfect for everyday use. I really like that their watched come with interchangeable straps. I'm considering ordering a black leather one to mix it up a bit.

My previous DW watch was from 2012 and I can confirm the presentation boxes are now much nicer! The Classic York watch arrived with a gorgeous cream and brown leather case. Very suave. Although this is classed as a female watch, the face is quite big and I would certainly say it's unisex. I'm sure my bae will be trying to snatch it out of my paws in no time.

Are you a fan of grey for A/W? Do you own a DW watch? If you're in the market for one please use our discount code for 15% off stylerawr, valid until the end of November so perfect for Christmas gifts!

T - Forever fashionably late.

Eastpak Artist Studio IV - Designers Against AIDS!

Friday 14 November 2014

Press releases drop into our inbox all day every day, but when one catches my eye I know it's really worth sharing so here we go!

Eastpak have released the designer creations for their fourth edition of the Eastpak Artist Studio (EAST) and boy is it a beauty! Joining forces in support of Designers Against AIDS, all 16 EAST designers have transformed a special edition blank Eastpak backpack into a unique work of art for charity. All of the exciting creations will be auctioned off and proceeds will be donated to Designers Against AIDS, which was founded to set up and promote projects which raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and help stop the spread of the disease around the world. All of these bags are amazing in different ways, so as a taster we've selected our top 5 from the 16 that will be up for auction on 1st December!

This guy needs no introduction, influential shoe designer Manolo Blahnik's design is inspired by his home country Spain. "Pompoms are a very important part of our culture and often form part of my collections. . . I really hope people will be inspired by my design. I feel very honored to be a part of this project and to help support such a worthy cause." Isn't is gorgeous?!

Jean Paul Gaultier's design is just ridiculously amazing! 1 bag and 3 vintage Japanese jackets combine to create one super garment! "I believe the condom is the greatest piece of clothing ever invented. My message to everyone is simple: 'Protect yourselves!'" The embroidery though, SWOON.

Italian designer Elio Fiorucci's fun and feminine design illustrates how the bag is more than just a container of things, it's a symbol of joy and an optimistic image of how we are and how travel should be. "We cannot afford to be blind, not even for love. Loving and being loved is the greatest luxury but it also means mutual respect." This one is perfect for everyday use, if you could bring yourself to do it!

This one is probably my fave, pop artist Christopher Lee Sauve's design is inspired by pop culture on the streets of New York and uses spray paint, found objects and cut up t-shirts from his own wardrobe. "There's been a decline in spreading awareness of HIV/AIDS since the 80's. It's important to create strong messages through art and fashion." Literally everything about this one excites me.

Finally, it wouldn't be a rawr post without a bit of faux fur right?! Spanish designer Sybilla has worked on turning Eastpak's usually sporty look into a more sophisticated couture-like finish. "There is still a lot to do when it comes to HIV prevention. More research is need to help everyone concerned; both patients and caregivers."
I picked this one out for our girl Steph of Faiiint, black on black, with a touch more black;)

The Auction opens on World Aids Day 1st December 2014 at 12pm, and closes on 21st December at 12am, and remember, all proceeds go to Designers Against AIDS. Fancy your chances for a good cause?

J - P.S. Watch HBO's The Normal Heart, it's powerful.

Ethical and Stylish Diamonds from Vashi.com!

Wednesday 12 November 2014

All girls love diamonds. Fact. As some of you may already know, last month I got engaged to my handsome beau! He said he found it extremely difficult to find 'the ring' but I was impressed with his final choice and the fact he picked it all by himself.

He ended up ordering it from a jewellery store stateside, but he did tell me he was tempted to get one from diamond experts Vashi.com. If you haven't heard of Vashi, they stock beautiful conflict-free diamonds. They have a massive selection of stylish diamond engagement rings (which can be customised) and some lovely diamond wedding rings. I've noticed a lot of bloggers have been featuring their fashionable bling and I can't say I'm surprised! Vashi jewels have also been seen on numerous celebrities including Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Rita Ora, Pixie Lott and Binky from Made in Chelsea!

Vashi Diamond Review
Hat: H&M - Dress: Oasis Necklace: Mi Moneda - Boots: Clarks - Vashi Diamond Ring (c/o)

I have a few diamond rings and whenever I wear them they make my outfit look much more special (well...to me, at least). Although the exquisite ring I'm sporting above is actually a wedding ring, I like to wear it on my right hand as a statement piece. It would work beautifully with an engagement ring but my (rather confident) fiancé ordered my matching wedding band when he purchased my ring. Men. I definitely recommend buying wedding rings and bands from Vashi Dominguez, they have such fantastic reviews and their customer service is brilliant.

I wore this outfit at the weekend when I went for a stroll with my husband-to-be. I don't see why a girl can't wear a cocktail dress for a country walk, so I threw this frock over some thick tights and paired it with a leather jacket and some biker boots. Rawrgirl style.

Have you heard of Vashi before? Are you also a fan of ethical diamonds?

T - Feeling ultra sparkly.

SS15 Fashion and Home at Next! #nextpressday

Last Thursday, Steph and I headed to London for the SS15 Next press day! Next always throw the best blog events and press days, so we were really excited to check out their upcoming Spring/Summer '15 collection.

The press day was held at The Vinyl Factory in Soho. It's such a beautiful space and we were treated to bellinis, biccies and macaroons while we checked out the SS15 range. It was completely SWOON-worthy! There were pastels, prints, quirky clutches/bags and some super stylish shoes.

Next SS15 Range
Next Lilac Biker Jacket
Next Silver Brogues Pink Laces
Next Grey Leather Biker Jacket
Next Black Western Ankle Boots

There were so many incredible pieces on display but I'm only featuring my absolute favourites. The lilac biker jacket was extremely popular with everyone (the biscuit version tasted amazing) and I started to obsess over it until I realised it was faux leather...Argh! Thankfully I soon spotted a beautiful real leather grey biker jacket, which is now officially on my want list. When it came to footwear, my most loved styles were these rawrsome silver brogues with pink laces and these even more epic western biker boots. I'm definitely buying both. #sorrynotsorry

Mini Macaroons

Life is good Cushion from Nexy
Next SS15 Homeware
Vintage Next Home
Spring Summer Homeware

I know we rarely feature homeware on the blog but the Next Spring/Summer 2015 home collection is just too cute for words. My house is full of their furniture and furnishings - I honestly think their selection is just getting better and better! I love all of their interesting prints, cushions and romantic wall decals. I seriously can't wait for everything to hit the shops next year.

I want to say a HUGE thank you to Next for inviting me! I had sooo much fun (as always). I'm really excited about SS15, I just want to shop it all already.

Which piece is your favourite? Do you shop in Next?

T - Starting a 'Next fund'.
