The Flip Flops From Ipanema . . .

Flip flops are a summer essential but finding good, comfortable ones can be a task. I've had a ton of different ones over the years, and generally found myself using them as poolside or beachwear only because basically, I can't stand wearing them as an all day shoe, until now! 

One of Brazil's fave flip flop brands, Ipanema, reps the spirit and look of Rio's famous beach spot to the max. The locally produced brand is the ethical choice for flip flop lovers. Ipanema products don't use rubber from the Amazon rainforest, are made from 100% recyclable PVC and are created using mould injection technology resulting in minimal waste to the environment. Ipanema sent me a pair of their super popular Ipanema Tropical Women's Flip Flop (£14) in silver, to try for myself, and I'm hooked! The anatomic footbed is ridiculously comfortable. I've had other well known Brazilian flip flop brands before but they felt nothing like this, it's like you don't even have shoes on! They're so flexible that I can fold them in half in my hand so no wonder my feet feel like they are free walking, plus the rubber on the toe piece is super soft and I have not experienced any pesky rubbing at all - hurrah!

I love the shimmery metallic sheen on this style. The pattern on the footbed is taken from the patterned Calçadão tiles on Ipanema Beach which is a cool touch!

I haven't worn flip flops this comfortable in my life. Since I got them I've been wearing them with jeans and dresses, and even around the house as summer slippers! I can't recommend them enough and I'll be buying more for sure. Even my boyfriend is taken with them after seeing how much I love them, and luckily Ipanema do a men's range too ;)
