Chi Chi London Poppy Dress!

Tuesday 11 February 2014

Apologies to those of you who had to pop on a pair of sunnies to read this post but I'm pale and proud! A few weeks ago I was sent a beautiful dress from Chi Chi London but the weather didn't want me to share it with you. Puuuh-lease! Thankfully the sun decided to show up long enough for me to go for a stroll wearing this adorable little Spring number.

Chi Chi London Poppy DressDress: c/o Chi Chi London - Shoes: Saks (old) Trench: Principles (old)

Sometimes I struggle with embracing my paleness but I must admit I do love how the colour red looks on my fair skin! I picked this poppy skater dress because it's the sort of piece which can be worn both casually or for a special occasion. It's covered in sweet lace flowers and has a healthy sprinkling of diamantes. This one is a size 8, I usually find I have to take a 6 in Chi Chi but this is the smallest size in this style and it actually fits quite nicely.

I bought these nautical-inspired pumps back in '07 in NYC and remember Office doing a higher heeled version at the time. Sadly I can't handle anything with a large heel but I can run around in these without any bother so they're perfect for me.

Do you own anything from Chi Chi? Do you use fake tan or do you prefer to keep it natural?

  2. I’m totally useless in heels! I’d love to be one of those girls who walk around gracefully in them but I just end up looking like Tina Turner – NOT a good look!! So pleased you’ve had a little sunshine back in Bristol, I don’t miss the weather one bit. Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long before the weather’s good again so you to wear this pretty red dress again

  3. I'm pale and proud too, I'm not fair skinned, but I have never been a sun worshiper or a fan of fake tan. We are pale and interesting, way better than looking like you have been tangoed :)
I love the dress, it is so cute and really does work with your skin tone...good choice!

  15. Yay! Pale & proud too! ;) I totally agree, the bright red looks soo nice against your skin & it makes you look so glowy! I wish I could pull off red, but I think with my dark hair & eyes it just looks a little too over the top on me, especially bright reds. I'm so jealous you had some sunshine! Wah!

  20. Your red Chi Chi London Poppy Dress is very pretty and you look lovely in it! It's a beautiful shade of red looks very swingy (great for dancing) and I like the way the white lace poppies stand out. The red colour would make it perfect for Valentine's Day.
